How long does it take to get an email response from CR? I still haven't gotten anything via email. Less than 72 hours til we leave... *sigh*

Looks like i might end up with no cake at all.... :(

I'd hop on the phone ASAP. The pastry team is probably gone for the day, but Private Dining can look and see if your order's in the system. :thumbsup2

Lurkyloo, my order is 'half-started' according to Carolyn. She said I had to email the pastry team to see if they can do what I want, but its been day's, and I haven't gotten a response yet. I see posts from other people who HAVE gotten email responses from the Contemp pastry team... so I am feeling a bit left out. My last cake order didn't go so well. (ordered a cake from Pat at GF) We didn't really WANT to eat at Chef Mickey's but SOOOO wanted Chef Brian to do an awesome cake.. and now he isn't even there...I am so afraid I'm gonna end up with a 'Publix" cake...

I would call or shoot them an email. I ordered my cakes through the MK hotline email but had questions now and the that had to go back to the bakery and they came back with answers each time within a few hours. The other day I emailed questioning if I was getting a Contemporary made cake out of worries that the price was too cheap and concerns because of my son with multiple allergies. Donald emailed me first thing the next morning to assure me it was a Contemporary bakery made cake.

I'm sure things can get overlooked with how busy they are so don't feel bad about asking them to verify things are a go.

Have you tried a Publix cake? They're much better than the cake we've had at Disney. Just thought I'd throw that out there. ;) Anyway, I hope you get your cake ordered soon & it's exactly what you want. :)

Donald finally responded to my email. (at 5 am this morning!) :faint:

After a couple of emails back and forth, I was able to complete my order.

I will be sure to update how things went. Ordering a 10 in. cake for dinner at Chef Mickey's. Nov. 17. Cars themed.

The skyline of radiator springs on the sides on the cake.
The top of the cake will be a farm field with bales of hay and a fence all around the top border. I am providing the figures for the cake top. Mater, Lightning, Frank,(the combine) and the tipping cows---er, I mean tractors!!!

I hope it looks as impressive as I am imagining it will.

We just had a Publix cake - ordered it from the one one Vineland and it was very tasty. We went to pick bit up during an afternoon break from the park and brought the box back with us to the restaurant. The Akershus staff brought it out for us, sang, the whole 9 yards.

I have heard such awesome things about Publix cakes that I was thinking of getting one. We are staying offsite in a townhouse and will be eating in a lot. Do you know if Publix has any Disney themed cakes? Any info on how to order (ie can we do it in advance).

Hi everyone! We r going to be in disney on our 11th wedding anniversary (May 24) and I was wondering what kind of cake will b good for it. There are 4 adults. Should I order it for to be delivered to our room (yacht club) or delivered to a restaurant? Any advice would be great because I can not decide.
Thanks
Amber

Go to publix.com. They have a decorated cake section. They do have disney themed cakes. You can look up stores near disney and phone in your order. I think they need minimum twenty four hours notice. They have been easy to irk with and delicious. I've done three cakes with them. One was a gorgeous wedding cake.

I ordered two custom cakes from the YC/BC back in early September that both turned out awesome! One was for my 30th birthday and the other was for our 6th wedding anniversary. I posted photos of both several pages back in this thread. I would highly recommend ordering from them and having it delivered to your room. It is convenient and easy to save leftovers.

http://www.publix.com/food/catalog/Bakery/DecoratedCakes/Home.do They have quite a few Princess cakes. I've also seen Toy Story. My DS is grown, so I'm not sure if they offer any other Disney cakes or not. You'd just have to look through the categories. At the top of the linked page, you'll be able to enter the zip code for your townhome to find the nearest store. As was mentioned above, you would need to call or stop by the store ahead of time. I try to order 2 days ahead, but I don't know if that's mandatory. I'm not sure about all Publix, but our Publix will make changes within reason. For example, I like a little cake with my icing. ;) I order our cakes with double icing all over & they never bat an eye. They've also made other changes & added layers for me to accommodate decorations I've bought separately to add to the cake.

Well, it's that time of year again. We are staying pre and post cruise at POR and WL. I called POR on October 23rd, left a message and was contacted a couple hours later. I made the order and was asked for a cc number.

I called the WL, also on the 23rd, left a message and my called was returned later the same day.I explained that I wanted a special cake and was given the email to the CR and informed that Chef Brian would not be working with me, which I knew. This one was a bit more difficult. After a couple of unanswered emails I finally got a reply on November 8th at 5:28 am from Chef Donald who previously was on vacation. I had sent a picture with my email asking for a two tired mini wedding cake like the one from this years wedding expo, Snow Flurry. Then I called the CR to complete my order. I had to leave a message and a day later my cake was ordered.

Orders as follows:
First cake...Two tiered mini wedding cake
Red velvet with cream cheese filling
Frosted with white butter creme and decorated with blue Mickey heads and a Mickey ears dome topper. Happy Birthday Dan written on the plate.
Price $25
To be delivered to Boatwright's for DH's birthday celebration.

Second cake...Two tiered mini wedding cake
Chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse filling
Decorated like the cake at this years wedding expo...Snow Flurry, as is with sugar snowflakes, sugar snow and pearls. Celebrating 24 years of magic written on the plate or banner.
Price $50
To be delivered and charged to our room at the Wilderness.

It is now less than three weeks out and I'm so excited to see these cakes. wish me luck.:goodvibes

I would confirm the $25 price on the mini wedding cake. It is my understanding that the starting price for these is $35. I have ordered 2 and both have started at $35 - and one was just white without anything custom.

I'll have to check but last year I had this cake from the BW and it was only $25 plus tax of course. I always call to confirm my orders a few days before we leave. You never can be too careful.:goodvibes
