Is the number that is in the link on the first page for the Boardwalk Inn
(407 939-2393) the same number you use to call the Boardwalk Bakery to order a cake?

Yes, if you want something fancy and need to talk to a pastry chef. Otherwise, you can just use the Cake Hotline. :thumbsup2

I called the Yacht and Beach Club food and beverage coordinator to price out a cake for my daughter's birthday.
I asked for a 2 tier mini wedding cake in turquoise blue fondant with silver Mickey head stamps...nothing fancy. I was quoted $35.00 for the cake, $15.00 for the fondant and $5.00 for the Mickey stamps....so a total of $55.00 plus tax and gratuity. Is this in line with what any of you have been quoted for something similar?

Thanks,
Kerri

It's a little on the high side, but it's in line with what the Grand Floridian is charging for fondant-covered minicakes. In general, Y&BC quotes the highest prices for fancy cakes and the Contemporary quotes the lowest, with the Grand Floridian somewhere in between. I am kinda surprised that they're charging you for the Mickey stamps - it's not like they have to add as many as they would with a full-size cake.

I know..seems weird about the stamps. Not a lot of work involved for the price but I think I'm going to go ahead with it...21st birthday and all.;)

Picked up my son's birthday cake at the Boardwalk Bakery today, and it was perfect. I ordered at 10" round covered in yellow fondant with red, blue, and green stripes with stars on top. It looked really awesome. When I'm home and have the time/inclination to figure out how to post photos of it, I will. ;)

I am happy to report I just ordered one of those mini wedding cakes from the Boardwalk Bakery and they are going to do it in red velvet (cream cheese filling buttercream on the outside with hidden mickeys as the decoration)--$25 plus tx.
My dd is going to be thrilled red velvet is her favourite!!

Attempting to post a photo for the first time....

This is my son's birthday cake. We ordered it from Jessi at the Boardwalk Bakery. It's a 10" round cake, vanilla with chocolate buttercream frosting & chocolate mousse filling, covered in yellow fondant with red, blue & green stripes. It cost $100 & we picked it up at the Boardwalk Bakery. There was a slight problem when we arrived to pick it up, the stars on top had drooped, so they made new ones on the spot (took about 15 minutes). Anyway, it was exactly what we wanted & quite yummy. :thumbsup2

Can I get a mini wedding cake delivered to the Liberty Tree Tavern during lunch. I assume I speak to Cake Man Brian if this is allowed. We leave in nine days:santa:

and mine - almond cake with amaretto, which was even more amazing than I remember. The Chef said their recipe is slightly different than the GF's and it is moister. Boy was it ever! It was so delicious.

I think I'd have died and gone to heaven w/ that flavoring!!!!
MUST. HAVE!

Will be staying at the Boardwalk for the first time and I was wondering does the BoardWalk Bakery have ready made cakes that you can walk in and purchase spur of the moment?
TIA

They do! And that's really what we should have done. As happy as we were with the cake we ordered, we got it because my sister & her family were coming to the resort to celebrate with us...then they arrived and announced, "we don't eat sweets." Wha???:confused: So we had a 10" cake that feeds, in my estimation, 3200 people for just the 3 of us to eat. Such a waste.

Has anyone ever bought the $50 rice crispy Mickey face cake from Goofy's candy co?

I was thinking of getting that instead of having a cake made, since the last time we saw it, all 3 kids oooh'd and aaah'd.

Just wondered if it was any good.

I just ordered a cake for my daughter's 5th birthday at 1900! I'm excited and hope it turns out good!

Thank you to those who contributed to this thread and gave me all the information I needed!

Thank You both for responding to my question. I had been planning all along to order a small cake and have it delivered to our room the first evening of our stay but we were then staying at CR so I came upon the idea of being able to pick up a cake at the BoardWalk Bakery after we switched and are staying at BWI. I do think this will work out much better just incase plans change last minute.

THANK YOU, LURKYLOO!

I followed the advice you gave to others about how to order a special cake for CRT and we got exactly what we ordered. I called and told them I wanted a custom cake and they responded within 24 hrs. I sent them a picture of the cake I had seen and I also ordered a slipper. Everyone was stuffed after the meal, so they only tasted the cake. My son took the cake to the house and we ate it after returning from the parks. I ordered a 10" cake and took the 5 disney princeses and 1 prince figures that were placed on top of the cake. They were able to write all six names on the scroll!
