I just received an email!!! I sent an email to Brian at the Contemporary on Sunday, asking for his help with a cake at our Sanaa dinner. I guess he was not able to do it for us, but he forwarded my email to another chef, who has contacted me. I'm so happy! This new chefs name is Andreas Born and he works at DHS - he asked that I send him an email with my ideas - Can't wait!

Anyway, I'm going to call and leave a message with the original chef at AKL and let her know that I will no longer be requiring her services, but my question is this - I already spoke with someone else and gave them my credit card information for the first cake (which is now being canceled). I was transfored to this person, so I don't know what department it was. Does anyone know who I should call to make sure my credit card doesn't get charged?

TIA

:dance3::yay: Doing the happy dance and SO excited!!! Ordered a special birthday cake for my sister for next Sunday...10", chocolate with custard and strawberries, Tinkerbell...$95. Carolyn was VERY nice but know what you want so you can tell her. :)

I finally took the plunge and ordered a cake as a surprise for my new husband on our honeymoon.

Price: I was quoted $75 which was the most I wanted to pay, but I'm hoping it'll turn out to be a bit less.
Date Received: I have it scheduled for August 19th
Location: lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table
Cake info: It's a 6 in square white cake with chocolate ganache and fresh strawberry filling.
Anything else special about that particular cake: Chef Brian is going to recreate the top layer of our wedding cake.

with "Have a Magical Honeymoon" in purple on the top. I can't wait to see it.

So, I emailed Chef Brian the other day with my cake preferences, details and sketches and got a quote from him this morning. I called around lunch time to put in my order and leave my CC info. I got a great girl on the phone who took the order, fit as much as she could in the description, and said she'd make a note on there to refer to my email for all of the specifics. She said I should hear from the chef in 24-48. I wish I could go back in time b/c I can't recall if she said to call if I haven't heard from him in this window. I was just so distracted b/c a few times she said "Chef Mickey's for dinner" instead of breakfast and my focus shifted to making sure it was written down for breakfast. I was probably also still happy that my quote was $150 and not $250. :goodvibes

so....Does anyone know if it's customary to receive a call in such a window? And should I call if I don't hear anything? Also, do you do any additional follow up calls before your trip? or is it fairly safe to assume all will be good with the cake once you get past this initial part?

My hubby and I are celebrating our 8 year anniversary when we are in Disney. Our first night is at Flying Fish. We are thinking of ordering a mini wedding cake from Boardwalk Bakery. Do I call them directly or call the main line?? Thanks in advance for the help!!!

Easiest just to call the bakery directly: 407-939-2393

Anyone in private dining at AK can check to be sure there is no longer any record of your order/cancel it for you if it hasn't been done yet.

GREAT wedding cake! :thumbsup2

I've never received a call back from PD at the Contemporary after placing my cake order. If you're really concerned, you can call back closer to the time just to verify that they have all your details, though.

My wife and I are coming down in August for our 25th anniversary. We are staying at BLT.

WHat is the process to get a Anniversary Cake ordered. I would actually love for it to be delivered to our room instead of a restaurant so we can enjoy it over a couple of days.

What is the approximate cost and where do I start.

thank you

You call the Contemporary Resort Private Dining at 407-824-2955 to order it. I just placed the order for ours to be delivered to our room for a welcome present. The price will depend on what you would like. There is a great thread here called Cake Chatter where everyone is super helpful!

Does anyone know if they would customize a 6 inch cake with a screen print? I am taking dd14 to CRT to celebrate her birthday and I was thinking of ordering her a cake with a screen print of simba and nala saying " Have a wild birthday" or something to that extent. I am also opting for a screen print to keep it within budget since I am not looking for something elaborate for just the two of us. If they won't do a screen print do you think they would do a stand up cut out like I have seen on other 6 inch cakes in this thread?

Hi everyone! Im trying to figure out: Can you have a fancy, fondant covered cake delivered to an EPCOT restaurant?? I would like it to be delivered to Les Chefs de France. Please, please let me know if this is possible! :worship: Also, if you could provide the number that I need to call to order this that would be fantastic! Thanks so much!!! :thumbsup2

Hi
I,m wondering would they put a mickey and minnie wedding cake topper on as anniversary cake ?? was it ever done ???
this would be my first choice ( as an anniversary cake ) ...or an edible print of mickey and minnie ( wedding ) ?? this thread as so many pages I wouldnt know where to start ..
if you had one done can you show it to me it would be a small cake ( 6-8 inches ) for a few people .
I guess Lurkyloo the cake expert would probably know that :)
thanks

If, you go to the second post on page one, there are links to a few Mickey and Minnie topper cakes.

Anyone have any idea how long it takes Chef Brian to email back? I made contact, he replied and said he will check his image collections and get back to me. That was a week ago and my trip is two weeks out.

Opinions needed please. Would it be better to have a cake delivered to our room for our anniversary (we are staying at the Contemporary) or at Cape May on our anniversary? Not even sure if one can be delivered there. Also, this is for the end of September so when should I start the process?
Thanks in advance.

Just asking. My husband and I are staying at Animal Kingdom Kidani Village. We have a reservation at Chef Mickeys. Should I contact the famous Chef Brian and have him make us something for our Chef Mickey Reservation OR should I just have the resort do it and deliver it to our room? Its for our 1 year anniversary.

Thanks!
Beth

I was kind of in the same boat. You can get a cake done by YC/BC Private Dining to get at Cape May. I decided to have it delivered to us in room at CR because if we had leftovers at Cape May there was really no way to get it back to the room since we are going to DHS after dinner and then it would go to waste. Otherwise I was going to do it at dinner so it could be presented which I think my kids would love.

I contacted Chef Brian and finally ordered the cake 3 weeks before our trip. We will find out how it turns out in just over 2 weeks :cool1:

He never replied to me either, i ended up calling -- but when i did call, he had my estimate, etc. written out and completed.

I never spoke w/ him directly... it was a girl -- and i can't remember her name!

I would def.ly call if i were you!!
