I called the hotline, this morning to place an order. The CM gave me prices for their "generic" cakes. I explained, I have a special order and need a quote. She gave me prices, before I could describe what I wanted. She finally gave me the chef's email address (Boardwalk Bakery) . I immdiately sent a message and received a quick response...he's out of the office until Sunday. He gave me a contact number, but I've yet to receive a call back.

I need this cake Tuesday, MIL's birthday. Any suggestions?

when you get a return msg. that quickly, it is being sent auto. from the internet provider as the person set it up to let people know he is away. He didn't email you, the system/email that he setup responded. I'd find another source. I am sure he will be backed up by the time he returns given the date you need your cake.

What is the number I call to get Brian's email address? Dealt with Pat before and was not a pleasant experience for me. Thanks.

I spoke with someone this evening. They provided me with very specific information, regarding how to contact the sou chef. My cake is special, but not elaborate. Hopefully, I will have an answer tomorrow.

I just ordered a custom cake from Animal Kingdom Lodge private dining. I am having it delivered to our room @ Kidani Village on 9/18. Stay tune for photos!

Can't wait to see. We are staying at AKL for our DD High Schoo grad trip and need a cake. Limping between having one sent to room or a Mad HAtter one at Park Fare Breakfast.

:cool1:The cake is ordered!! Although, I'm a little concerned about the filling. I asked for vanilla mousse with strawberries and the CM kept saying "strawberry fruit mousse".:confused3

Any advice on the filling? Help!!

Thanks to everyone's help on this thread we just had an amazing cake for my daughter's birthday. I tried to order two cakes for her; one through Pat and one through Brian. I have two say I had two completly different experiences in dealing with both of those folks directly. I will just say that Pat was extermply prompt in her response, very accomodating and friendly and was a delight to work with. The GF did an amazing job with the cake. Good luck to all who order and keep in mind that one person's experience with someone may be completly differnt from yours so always keep an open mind. Peace, love and Disney. :hippie:

I sent an email to Brian at the Contemporary Bakery about a cake 3 days ago and have not heard back. We are not going to Disney until November but I also want to be sure he got my mail?

How long until I should follow up. Don't wnat to be a pain but want to make sure he got it.

Thanks

I waited a few days for a reply from Brian (I'm sure he's a busy man with all our requests :D ) so I'd wait a few more days.

And I have a similar question about Pat - I called and left a message on her machine. Does she do call backs or should I have possible gotten an email address? How long should I wait for a response from her?

Yes, she will call you back within a couple of days! :thumbsup2

We are staying at AKL and are celebrating my husbands birthday at Boma. I was wondering what options I have for a birthday cake. Can I order a fancy cake or am I only able to get the generic podium cakes. I don't need anything too fancy but I would really like to have Goofy on it. My husband loves Goofy! Will I be able to request cake flavor and filling?:confused3 I have never ordered a cake from Disney before so this is a new experience for me. I would really like to be prepared before calling the cake hotline. Thanks for any info you can give me.

When I called the cake hotline and was eventually connected to the line for the Cali Grill, I was told that I could have a standard 6" cake (podium cake?) with writing on it if it were at least 48 hours prior, chocolate with chocolate frosting or vanilla with vanilla frosting for $21 (plus tax I believe). This will feed 4 or 5 people. The next step up was an 8" for which one could get a screen print of a character for $44 and the next level was $77. As I recall, for the more expensive cakes there was more of a choice of fillings.

The cake hotline is quite elaborate. When I dialed it there were at least 7 choices that narrowed down to a few more when I clicked the one for the Contemporary Resort. I suggest calling them. IMHO it's a lot less confusing than reading through this entire thread.

Good luck!

Emailed Brian yesterday, got a response from him today and he told me to call private dining for a custom cake? :confused3 Why? Anyone known? :confused3

I sent Brian and email detailing what kind of cake I wanted. He then replied back with a price quote and told me to call private dining to actually order the cake.

I did and told them what Brian and I had discussed and the price and they took down the general information of time, place and name of birthday girl.

That was my scenerio maybe the cake experts can give you more info.

Hello everyone! I'm wondering if I can get some opinions. We're going to be at the World for my daughter's birthday in November and we plan to order her a custom cake from the GF bakery (we have dinner at 1900 Park Faire).

My daughter is an Irish Dancer, and I want the cake theme to be a combination of Mickey heads and an Irish theme with some Celtic symbols and maybe a topper of a dance shoe.

Any other ideas? Does this sound feasible?

TIA!

I had something remotely similar. We got an British cake with Donald. It was beautiful. It had a Phone booth, Flag etc. It was really nice
