Official DISNEY Cake Chatter Thread - Part II

Hi All:
I tried searching this thread but didn't have much luck.
Can I have a mini wedding cake delivered to my room at the beach club?
Should it be arranged through the beach club concierge or Boardwalk bakery?

Easiest to do it through Private Dining at the Beach Club. They will put you directly in touch with the pastry chef.

I am also ordering a white chocolate character for each of the guests at my party (the cruise :rotfl: ) as a party favor. I haven't decided on the characters yet. The choice is between Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Belle and Tinkerbelle. So I am not sure wether to get an assortment of each, or get Mickey for the boys and Minnie for the girls. I can get each of those in a gold box with a window, which has a handle so they will be perfect for everybody to leave the cruise carrying their chocolate character.

How much did they quote you to box up a character on its own? Seems like an extremely cool party favour ... as long as it doesn't melt! ;)

They do cakes at WCC! I don't think they do the fancy ones like at the CR or GF but they will do a cake with flowers and such. They are really pretty. If you look in the cake gallery I think there are a few.

Can I get one from GF delivered to Whispering Canyon?

I wanted mad hatter style or even the mickey head cake looks fun!

Oh Dear, I didn't think about them melting :rotfl2: White chocolate isn't as bad for melting as milk chocolate and it will be at night, so it won't be in the heat of the day, so it should be fine :thumbsup2

It's $30 for each character including the gold window faced box with carry handle.

Thanks! That looks like a great option with reasonable prices. Of course, the price may not be as good when they add on the "complexity" charges. ;) I'm definitely bookmarking the site. Please, post with details & pics when you return. I hope it's fabulous!

Several people have been able to get CR to deliver to WL.

Awesome! thanks! So should I call CR. Anyone have the number or email for me to get a hold of someone there?

I know it has taken me a long time to post this, but here is the cake Brian made for my Daughter's 1st birthday we had at Chef Mickey's. It was amazing, and tasted great, I got the 8 inch white cake with chocolate mousse filling. Sorry the photos aren't great we got put in a dark way back corner of the restaraunt.

Does anybody have any experience with having a custom cake made for dinner at CRT? Would totally blow moms mind, so I'm looking into it and am curious about any previous experiences.

The Sweet Treat Tray for AKL is no longer available. I have called and they said they do not make it anymore.

I think you would need to call CR Private Dining. They occasionally do custom cakes and deliver for CRT with a shipping fee, I believe. Call them and ask, they may be able to help you out and give you detailed pricing.:thumbsup2

1.407.827.2253 = the cake ordering hotline...you just have to listen to the prompts..it will lead you to the right place.

I called this number for a slipper for 1900 Park Faire- Spoke to Julie.
Do not feel comfortable after all that. I thought the slipper would have been charged on my slip after dinner.
She told me it will be charged on my credit card that day. (suppose if we do not receive it?)

She only asked where and what time- did not ask for the reservation number or what name was the reservation listed under.

Is that normal? How do they know who gets the cakes?

Has been so for a very long time. Surprised nobody updated that yet. I asked about that somewhere in the summer of last year and it was already no longer available.

At that point they did still have the truffles thing. Haven't got a clue what it's called, but it's a big scale made of great tasting chocolate (kinda in a boat shape), with coconut shreds on the bottom and about 8 or 10 different truffles in them. We had them in september. Ordered one myself and then also got one at check in as part of a 'happy birthday from the AKL CL'. Very yummy and hold up very well also in the fridge. Last time I checked out the private dining menu for AKL they were still on it.

Thanks, will give them a call when I get the time. :thumbsup2

Where would I call to order the tiny small cake, looks like a mini wedding cake (2 small tiers) MY BIL wants to order my sister something little for teh two of them to ahve delivered for her birthday at their Narcoossee's dinner here in a few weeks. Any idea on cost?

call the Restaurant directly they can do almost anything.. Price is hard as if it is something they normally do or it is custom either way it will not be cheap if that helps.

From the cake thread, it appears those are "mini-wedding" cakes and you call private dining at the GF to order it for dining at Narcoosee's. The most recent price I saw was $30. I didn't see the phone numbers listed.

I got this cake back in December delivered to our room at the AKL. It was unbelievably good. I don't remember where I'd heard about it, but I'd heard that this was a specialty cake that you could only get at the AKL. I'd previously thought about having it at Boma, but I love the rest of the desserts there too much to pass them up for cake!

A lot of times, a cake that is beautiful may not taste as good as it looks, but in this case, the taste was definitely the strength of this cake (even though it was also beautiful. Although it was customizable, I got the standard "special" flavors -- and I'm glad I did.

The taste was very similar to the Zebra Domes at Boma and the Mara. The cake was marbled and seemed to be dusted with cocoa. The cake was iced with whipped cream.

The filling was Amarula mousse. Amarula is an African cream liqueur with a unique, delicate flavor. It's the same as the mousse in the Zebra Domes. The "icing" (not quite icing, not quite fondant) tasted like a mild cream cheese icing -- a mellow version of what you might find on a red velvet cake. The stripes are chocolate. It might sound like a lot of flavors going on, but it was DELICIOUS. I can't wait to get one again. It was about $60.

White Chocolate Monorail from the CRT Private Dining, delivered to our room at the BLT.

Asked for "Welcome back and my kid's names" written on it and they said 'sure' but they didn't do it but as she was putting it on the table, she said welcome back.

I ordered a cake recently from Pat at GF and I kept asking in the emails if she wanted our reservation number for our wishes cruise. When I got the invoice emailed for the cake and chocolate characters it had our reservation number on it already, she said she was able to look that up. She was fantastic! So it's possible that she may already have your ressie number, but maybe she doesn't need it.

the dining reservation is on my DIL name and the cake is on my name. (not the same at all)

They never asked for my email address or home address. Did not ask where we were staying.

Has anyone recently brought a cake from the BW bakery into one of the Epcot restaurants? Thinking of having cake after dinner in Italy and want something a custom cake.

We used to bring them(they were from Publix) into Chef Mickeys years ago with no problem. You just had to keep it at your table.
