Cake ordered at Mama Melrose DHS on March 11, 2011. I pre-ordered it to have a Muppets photo & my daughters' names on it. It was super-fresh. Cost: $32.

We are having breakfast at 1900 PF in two weeks celebrating my daughter's 17th birthday. I know it's just the two of us, but I want to do a speciality cake. I've looked back through several pages but can't find the Private Dining number for the Grand. Can anyone give me the number? Also, the person I need to speak with regarding the cake is Pat, correct? Thanks!

We're at BLT in August during my sisters birthday. Can one of you cake vets PM me Brian or Pat's # so I can call? Thank you!

I forgot to add to my previous post that Chef Brian was amazing! We could not have been happier with our daughter's cake. She really loved it. I forgot to mention that I bought the figurines for $9.99 through Disney and had him incorporate those into the cake. The cake was white with rasberry mousse and fresh rasberries and was very moist and delicious. He even added the flowers from the movie and the little tiny mushrooms just as she wanted. So cute! Even our waitress said that the staff in the back was commenting on the cake as they had not seen one quite like it.

Just got done talking to private dinning for a cake for a golf themed cake for my sons. They offered whip cream frosting and assured me they would be able to decorate. Now after thinking about it is this correct?? I offered to send pictures of what I was interested in and woman helping me said not needed. When I worked with Brian we communicated by email and I sent pictures. Now I am nervous. Should I call back to make sure we are all on the same page? Anyone use Beach Club Bakery before?

Sorry, I'm not too sure on the procedure. Just call Private Dining?

And I'm sure Kahlua would be fine...he is what I like to call an "alcohol connoisseur" ;) Anything with booze should be fine :rotfl:

And will they deliver straight to the room? I'm sure they would, right?
Yep—just call AKL and ask for Private Dining. They can deliver it to your room or to a restaurant. Can't wait to see it! :thumbsup2

Pat doesn't work at the Contemporary; you'd need to talk to Brian. The Private Dining cake number there is 407-824-2955.

That would scare me. I would insist on submitting pictures. Also, whipped cream is only a good base for a screen print—if that's not what you want, be sure they understand.

Thank you Lurkyloo! She loves Pooh, but I have read they can't do Pooh. The second choice is Tinker Bell and they've done some lovely Tink cakes....I hope I can get one for her. :)

I was about to order the chocolate slipper for my girls and noticed on the email I received that we have the option of white chocolate or dark chocolate. Is the dark chocolate bitter? I wish it would be milk chocolate as my girls would love it even more.

Also I ordered a cake for our wedding anniversary from Pat. It will be chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, ganache and chocolate fondant. She said it would be really good and my dh would love it (chocolate fan). Anyone had a cake like that? was it good or too much chocolate?

Got an answer from Katherine. The dark chocolate is semi sweet. The price is still 12.50 plus tax and gratuity

Okay I talked to supervisor at the Beach Club Private dinning and she reassured me that the cake would knock my socks off, to go ahead and email her pictures. Feel better

after going back and forth w/Pat on an anniversary cake for my wife we finally decided. I ordered a 6 inch yellow cake w/chocolate buttercream frosting and covered w/red fondant. Mickey and Minnie white chocolate topper w/black balls around the bottom and a few daisies on top and it will say 9 Magical Years. Hope it comes out nice and hope my wife likes it.

That sounds wonderful! Please make sure you post pictures when you return. What price did Pat quote? I'm beginning to work with her on a cake for my daughter. Yours sounds similar in details and size to mine.

to UGADog, this is scubacop77's wife. Pat quoted us 80 for the cake. She was really friendly and very helpfull.:)

Interesting!! I spoke with Pat a few weeks ago to order an Anniversary cake for my parents 50th. I wanted a 6in with fondant stamped with golden mickeys...I was told it would be over $100!! I ended up ordering a 6in vanilla with cream & strawberries that would be iced with buttercream and the Mickey/Minnie topper and she told me it would be $66. Why does it seem like the prices are all over the place? I thought the 6in cake that I originally wanted would be closer to the $70 price and when I said as much to Pat - she said "I don't know where people are getting these quotes from..." :confused3

I called Grand Floridian Private Dining to order the "Coral & Shells" mini cake listed on Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings' cake pricing sheet at $22. Apparently Disney brides are getting a screaming deal on these things, because Pat insisted that they actually cost $45 each (and that there is no cake pricing sheet  ). When I protested she said they could do it for $35. My total bill was $46.11—I guess that included tax, the Private Dining delivery charge and a service charge...?

It was vanilla cake with what I believe was white chocolate mousse filling—it tasted kind of like one of those pink/white-frosted circus animal cookies. SUPER sweet! But it was fresh and moist, and the fondant was the chewy, marshmallowy, actually edible kind... WAY tastier than any other Disney fondant I've ever had. I wonder if it's cuz they didn't have to color it. The plate was decorated with sanding sugar and lots of hard fondant shells covered in edible shimmer paint. Really pretty! I think this is definitely a 2-person cake, though. Even I couldn't finish the whole thing in one sitting! :rotfl:
