I don't know if this was done on purpose or not, but this made me laugh. When Kyle McLaughlin (Orson) was on Sex and the City his character said "alrighty then" a lot. :rotfl:

Forgot about that! He was creepy on that show too. Seems like he's creepy in everything he does. :teeth:

It is a big deal.
:confused3 :rolleyes1

Really, it isn't. Thank god we are not discussing a big deal here.

Everytime something irritates me, I just think to myself, "Wow, if this tiny little thing is causing me to get this annoyed, I must have a really good life."

I then take time to thank god that my family is in good health, we have a small but nice home over our heads, no one flew any planes into any buildings today.... you get the idea... These are the big deals... If any of those things happened, the little things wouldn't even register! We really wouldn't have time to indulge in the small annoyances!

This is so nothing in the scheme of things... but maybe it will help if you think to yourself the next time some small insignificant thing bothers you...

"Wow, I must have a great life!!" :thumbsup2

Try to relax and enjoy it!! :cool2:

I have a great life... but I am also a stickler on accuracy.

It isn't small or insignificant, its the lack of accuracy. Charmaine or Charmay is not Xiou-Mei.

Well then maybe you should go back and edit your posts to fix all the grammar and spelling errors. There are many.

Christmas Elf
Thank you so much for the recap. I accidently missed the show and I truely appreciate your efforts. And I don't mind any errors or typos, etc
And I knew who you meant, when i read it :thumbsup2

Accuracy is important. Again, I wasn't the only who pointed it out. But I am thrilled that you are spelling it correctly now!

I have my Chinese American daughter to thank for spelling it correctly. But, honestly I don't think it's really that important. People rarely spell my name correctly and if they do then don't pronounce it correctly. In the scheme of life it just isn't that important. Everyone has there faults ;) .

Maybe you can mind your own business. I'm correcting the errors in the recap. I can also point out errors in other posts. I can see so many errors in syntax, verb tense agreement and just poor sentence structure. If I had to correct everyones post, I would never be able to get anything done.

I'm just saying that there was an error and gave instruction. If no one can handle the correct way to spell it, I will continue to correct it.

You will see the posts until it is correct. I've pointed out the correct spelling and pronunciation many times.

I have to say - I love the way you think!!

Very well put and it should make us all realize how small of an issue this, and the show in general really is. :thumbsup2

I propose that we officially nickname Xiou-Mei "Charmay" for all future recaps.

Does anyone second the motion?

Oh I beg your pardon! :rotfl2: I didn't realize that you were the Queen of Grammar and no one is to correct you!

If it were my name, I'd be offended by the absoluete butchering of Charmaine instead of Xiou-Mei.

A) Yeah, but it's not your name.

B) Hello ... we're talking about the name of a FICTIONAL character. I highly doubt that a make-believe character is going to care if someone on this board writes/pronounces their name improperly. Yeah, poor fictional Xiou-Mei is going to cry all night long over the fact that people on this board are calling her Char-May, Charmaine, Long Duck Dong or Porky Pig. Give me a break. This is a FICTIONAL show and she's a FICTIONAL character. If she were playing Eleanor Roosevelt and people were botching her name, then I could understand as Eleanor was a real person. Xio-Mei is not a real person.

When Gabby says her name, I have to often question how it is properly pronounced. Sometimes, I hear an "r" sound in there. Maybe b/c you are a high and mighty linguist, you can. Cut the "commoners" some slack.

If you want to get off on proper pronunciations, Gabby is hispanic. Why doesn't everyone on the show roll the "r" in her name to be ethnically correct!?!?!?

Get off your high horse, Cindy. This is a fictional show on freaking television for crying out loud. It's not real life. Get over it.

Maybe Cindy should do the recap and risk the insults she's been tossing around.

One moment while I clean my keyboard!

Okay...now that that's done...Christmas Elf, it has been officially proposed and seconded. You are now free to use Charmay in all future recaps (although I must admit Porky Pig does have a nice ring to it too). We'll all know exactly who you are talking about!

Thanks for the recap!!!

I agree Cindy...you are obviously not making many friends here :sad2: ......just join in the conversation for the enjoyment of discussing Desperate Housewives...... that's all ANYONE is here for.

Now, back to DH.....they mention the "main character" who is leaving involved in a "hostage situation"..... :scratchin......"hostage situation"...... any ideas besides Bree & Orson?? :confused3

I've forgotten - why did Orson run over Mike?
I honestly don't think they told us why Orson ran over Mike.

But, I didn't Mike knock out a tooth (or a cavity or something) when he got into that fight w/Susan's ex-husband? Then, Susan told him to see her dentist, Orson. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that at Orson's office, Mike said something about Orson looking familiar. Then, Orson said something about Mike's dentistry being "Prison Dentistry" and Mike said yes and asked Orson how he knew that. Orson said something about being a prison dentist in some other state (other than where Mike served in prison). Then, Mike said something like "Well, if you were a dentist in X prison, why are your records from the state where I served prison?" and Orson said something to the effect that he is certified in different states.

So, I'm guessing that Orson did dentistry on Mike in the prison (or served in prison?) . Maybe something went down at the prison and Orson thinks that Mike has put two and two together, Mike knows who Orson is/what he did and Orson had to run him over (with intent to kill him) so Orson's secret/indiscretion/whatever wouldn't get out.

(If I'm wrong on this, I'm sure Cindy will correct me!)
