***Official December 2017 thread!

Does anyone know if the CP package also include reserved seating for Illuminations?

No...instead you can buy tixs for the Illuminations Dessert Viewing Party...there is no actual "seating" at this party, everyone stands to view the show but in a designated section at Epcot...

Thanks for the reply! I must have been reading some old info.

Haven't used JetBlue myself, but that's great news! Eagerly awaiting Southwest to post their flights, and for MVMCP dates to go up and tickets to go on sale!!

And yeah, I was one of those who freaked for a half second when I saw "sold out" on the party before folks confirmed it was a mistake. LOL

We are booked December 4-8. We are surprising our kids with this trip and staying at AOA. This is our first time in Disney for Christmas. Super excited and I am not sure I will be able to keep it a secret much longer. I just want to talk about it with them! We only planned on going to MK and Epcot but now I am debating on putting out the money for the Christmas party. Decisions Decisions!

In case anyone hasn't seen, dates for MVMCP have been released!!

Held on select evenings, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is currently scheduled to take place on the following dates in 2017:
  • November 8, 9, 12, 14, 16, 17, 26 and 28.
  • December 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 22.

19th, 21st, AND 22nd makes me sad. That's 3/5 of our days there. Now we may HAVE to get the Christmas party unless we only want the 20th and 23rd in MK.

:santa:We will be there December 2-7
Booked at Music until I see if we can get room discount or free dining as there will be 6 of us. First time at Christmas.
Getting tickets to MVMCP for Tuesday the 5th
Can't wait:santa::santa:

We're you only planning on going to MK all those days?
Our main Magic Kingdom days were already the 20th (projected hours are 8am to 2am, so we'll have plenty of time) and the 23rd, but this essentially eliminates park hopping to Magic Kingdom in the evening on the other days. We may just work around it and do the other 3 parks during the Christmas Party days and avoid MK completely. Maybe only do MK during morning EMHs. Just eliminates some flexibility. Was hoping for only 2 of those days to be Christmas Party.

Hello!

I'm not official yet, waiting to see if free dining drops. IF it does drop, we are planning on staying at a moderate from Dec. 10-16th (we are flexible with dates, but I got to pick something for now!).
We want to upgrade to the DxDP because we want to make this a 'Foodie Trip' :mickeybar

Really, I need help figuring out how do utilize the park hopper option. I've gotten skilled at using 1 park per day tickets that I kind of don't know how to plan park hoppers :rotfl:

Lol so below is kind of the info I have planned and if you guys have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it!
We've never been during December so we're not quite sure what to expect :confused3

Who: Me (adult), DBF (adult) & Roommate (adult).
Our first priority is food (will be using Deluxe Dining Plan, total 18 dining credits per person)/Experiencing new Avatarland. Second is experiencing the holidays while at WDW (not interested in candlelight processional). Third are rides.
What: 4 Day Tickets, most likely Park Hoppers + MVMCP Ticket for one party night
  • Arrival Day (Sunday 12/10) - MVMCP
    • California Grill Brunch
    • Raglan Road Dinner
  • Magic Kingdom Day (Monday 12/11)
    • Crystal Palace Breakfast (pre-park opening if possible)
    • Hoop De Doo Dinner
  • Animal Kingdom Day (Tuesday 12/12) - MVMCP
    • Tusker ROL Breakfast (pre-park opening if possible)
    • Satu'li Canteen Lunch
    • Tiffins Dinner
      • We plan to stay here all day and will only park hop if AK is closed
  • Epcot Day (Wednesday 12/13)
    • Garden Grill Breakfast
    • Katsura Lunch
    • Rose & Crown Dinner
  • Party Ticket Day (Thursday 12/14) - MVMCP
    • Resort QS Breakfast
    • Garden Tea Room Lunch
    • Skipper Canteen Dinner
      • Will only be using MVMCP ticket to enter park today
  • Hollywood Studios Day (Friday 12/15) - MVMCP
    • Resort Breakfast
    • SciFi Drive In Lunch/Dinner
      • Historically, the special fireworks shows here are on Friday
  • Departure Day (Saturday 12/16)
    • Bon Voyage Character Breakfast

Oh yes, we will be driving so we will have access to a car :) Most of these can be moved around to best figure out how to maximize our time.
Ultimately, even if we don't use our PH, we will still save a lot with the free dining and deluxe dining upgrade (if free dining happens this year).

So ... how would you utilize your park hopper with the information above?

Looks like there is 5 MVMCP dates during my family trip!

...now to just make sure the full days we plan for MK are NOT those days...

I have never been during a christmas party. I have a question: How do they get the guest out of the park that are already there and not a part of the party?

You need to get a wrist band when you get into the park or before 7 - CM walk around checking they will ask to see the band if it's covered by clothing. They change the band colors nightly as well

Thanks. I always wondered as I know guests can stay in a park on EMH but are not able to ride rides.

I wondered the same thing myself but they have a system down - I also know if you have dinner after say 6 and get out when the party has started, a CM will actually walk you to the front of main street to have you leave if you don't have party tickets. Politely of course

First major payment made for this trip!!

...but it wasn't to the Mouse, LOL. It was to my jeweler for my lovely wife's new wedding ring she doesn't know about. Sure we may be 8 months out, but dangit I'm excited!!!

Might have to write Pre-Trip and Trip Reports on this one?

Good to know about how CMs shift the non-party folks out of the park. I was wondering that myself.

Welp, I realize I need to probably sign in here, too. DVC stay at the Poly from Nov 29 - Dec 3 for me and the kiddo. Slightly frustrated that Dec 1 is the only night we'll be able to attend MVMCP, but if anyone deserves their own party, it's the amazing CMs, so I'm okay with giving up the Nov 30 party. :santa:
