*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

She's an anti-napper but we're hoping she'll naturally fall asleep in a stroller. I don't think taking a mid day break for her to nap will work with her. We may give a try at least once.

We have an anti-napper as well! He naps at home (reluctantly) but won't nap anywhere else, or even in the car. I just doubt mine will nap in a stroller, or even in the room midday, but we'll see. I was planning on coming back from the parks semi-early and maybe swimming until bedtime each night, but then I remembered we're going in December....it probably won't exactly be pool weather! So as far as naps go, we're just winging it to see what happens.

I like the swimming until bedtime idea but you're right about the weather. Like you, we're going to wing it. She doesn't like to nap but she's also grumpy when she's tired. It's a bad combo. lol I have a feeling that I may be taking her back to the resort early most nights while dh & ds stay in the parks.

That's awesome that you got everything but GG. I'm sure that will pop up and I've read the same thing about Disney possibly holding back reservations. Either that or people are hoarding and will start to cancel once they finalize.

I am sure hoping so! I would love Via Napoli too (which is what I booked instead) but I love the characters they have at GG and I have heard the food has improved a ton over the years. We'll see I guess!

Here are my tentative plans:

Day 1 - Arrival Day - HS and ADR at Mama Melrose
Day 2 - MK, Pre-park BOG, & Dinner at CRT
Day 3 - Epcot, Cape May Breakfast and dinner at Akershus
Day 4 - Disney Springs, late lunch at Whispering Canyon, and MVMCP
Day 5 - AK and ADR at Yak & Yeti
Day 6 - MK and late breakfast at 1900
Day 7 - Morning do kids fav park then park hop to Epcot. ADR at Via Napoli
Day 8 - HS and dinner at Sci-Fi
Day 9 - Departure Day

Looks awesome! I wanted BoG lunch for our first park day but couldn't get one. It worked out well though b/c the only time I could get for Hoop Dee Doo was 4:00 so we aren't going to want a big lunch anyway.
This is what I have as of now:
Day 1 - Arrival Day - no ADR's
Day 2 - MK, pre-park 'Ohana (7:40 AM) - Hoop Dee Doo Revue Tier 1 (4:00 PM)
Day 3 - Epcot, no breakfast or lunch ADR's as of yet - Via Napoli (8:00 PM)
Day 4 - HS/DAK, Lunch @ Sci-Fi Dine In (11:30 AM), Beaches & Cream (8:20 PM) <--this one is tentative b/c I don't know DAK's extended hrs yet
Day 5 - Disney Springs, lunch at Morimoto Asia (1:30 PM) - evening @ Epcot
Day 6 - DAK in morning then Hollywood Studios - dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby (5:50 PM)
Day 7 - MK - pre-park Crystal Palace (8:35 AM), lunch at Be Our Guest (1:05 PM), no dinner ADR's
Day 8 - park hopping day, lunch @ Disney Springs, T-REX (1:30 PM)
Day 9 - MK in the morning - Departure Day - no ADR's

We're going to try to see each park's night show but aren't sure how my littlest will be. She's an anti-napper but we're hoping she'll naturally fall asleep in a stroller. I don't think taking a mid day break for her to nap will work with her. We may give a try at least once.

My son will be 7 and he stopped napping a long time ago. But in Disney sometimes he does need naps! I plan on renting a stroller since my boyfriend will only be with us the first 3 days (he's a teacher and can't miss too much school outside of their regular vacation) - if my son gets tired or needs a break I can have him in the stroller. He's way too heavy to carry if he gets sleepy! I'm sure there will be some judgey people giving me looks b/c I have my 7 year old in a stroller but I couldn't care less lol This will be our last trip for at least a few years so I want to get as much park time as possible ;)

Hey if that's what you have to do to have memories and less melt downs for him and you who cares what other people think. Lol It's not like you will see them again anyway. I'm not gonna lie sometimes I wish I could be pushed around in a stroller and take a power nap :rotfl:

That's how I feel too! I will never see these strangers again so who cares if they give me dirty looks lol

And I wish that too! I think every adult does! :rotfl2:

Thank you to all the November-ites that have already booked their ADR's. And I hope that if you didn't get the ressie you wanted that it will pop up before you leave.

We are going 11/28-12/5. I was able to make ADRs for everything I needed included PPO BOG, Akershus breakfast and Ohana at firework viewing. I still want to try to get better times for a few things, but overall I'm super happy. :) I think I had such good luck because we're a party of 2 and had super flexible park days.

It's my sister's first trip and she doesn't understand the 180 out planning or why I'm super happy with getting certain reservations. :rolleyes2

I'm sure your sister will get the point when you guys are entering the restaurant and as you pass the check-in station, she hears the host/ess tell the walk-ins "It'll be about a 60-90 minute wait." Or when she sits there with her jaw open from the awesome view of the fireworks from Ohana.

Then you win being the "best sibling"

Sorry I didn't read every comment in this thread so it may have been answered, but does anyone know how to go about booking dinning reservations when it doesn't look like they have the hours adjusted very well yet. I mean in comparison to operational hours last year it just seems like these hours are very different. I know they change as we get closer but I just feel really antsy about it. Also I want to get a Crystal Palace reservation for a pre-park opening ADR but since it doesn't look like the hours are up I don't really know if I can count on past years early extra magic hours. I want to make that reservation for a non EMH day but I just don't know what date that will be. I am getting overwhelmed.

Edit: I realized in my haste there was no question in that comment but really I just want advise as to how you guys are handling the situation.

Since, we're all chomping at the bit about our ADR's, I'd like to ask those that are beginning their vacations in Nov and carrying over to Dec.; How have your ADR bookings gone? Percentage-wise, how lucky have you been getting the restaurant you wanted at the time you wanted?

Just wanna get a feel of what I have to look forward to in a week or so.

Thank you.
Coral Reef is the only one I couldn't get when I wanted. I booked the latest lunch instead of dinner.

Joining! My DH(35) and I(32) just booked our trip for 12/4-12/11 at ASMu. We haven't been in three years (except for a one day MK visit this past January during a quick weekend trip). Hoping for some deals for that time period as we'd like to upgrade to CBR or POR :rolleyes1. Never used magic bands before and we are excited to see all the new stuff since 2013. :cloud9:

Does anyone know if the main street electrical parade runs on non-party nights in december and during christmas week?

Had a pretty good ADR day despite computer slowness and an IT issue. The only thing I had trouble with was getting Tony's dinner but booked lunch instead. I also couldn't get T Rex on our arrival day 12/2. Will keep trying for both.

Does anyone know if the Beast comes out during the Christmas Party? My LO is in love with Beast and I cannot get ADR for dinner at BoG. Thanks!!

Congrats on getting most of your ADRs!! For some reason, I've only ever seen late T-Rex tables for dinner listed on Disney's reservation page. We've had more luck just being walk-ins on our arrival day and putting our names in. There was usually a 30ish minute wait. T-Rex is always our arrival day dinner tradition! Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think T-Rex doesn't give Disney all their tables to list, and you can call and reserve a table like a week ahead of time instead of 180 days.

We have only eaten there once and it was a while ago. We arrive early morning and decided that we will maybe swim or play mini golf this arrival day around a light lunch and then visit DS and have dinner there. Thanks so much! I called and got a ressie for 4:30 pm. They said there is no confirmation # to give. Does that sound right?

December 16th -21st all star sports, DDP. Celebrating my daughters 11th birthday on the 17th, and my son's 2nd on the 18th!

Oh, good!! There's probably not a confirmation number because you're reserving directly with T-Rex instead of with Disney. Sounds legit to me!

We are staying November 30th-December 4th, 2016. I had a pretty successful ADR day on Friday, but I didn't get all the ADRs I had wanted. I'm still hoping that there will be some cancellations so that my family can visit some of our favorites on our trip!
