*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

We'll be at VGF in a studio from December 10-17th. We were able to cobble the seven nights together starting at 8 months out. We startstarted looking after we got back from the world in March. We were supposed to be on a "break year" So much for that! :)

I just read on another thread that the hours for all of Dec are out. I haven't checked yet myself.

I am with you!!
We just came back last month and weren't going to go again until 2018 (bc next spring break we are doing a beach vacation). Somehow 2018 turned into this Dec....bc we are crazy and disney obsessed. Lol

I was just on Disney's site and looked and I only see through December 4th hours. I wonder if they found them on another website or something?

I hope she's able to convince him! We take a annual sister trip, usually to some adult location, and it's always a blast. :) My DH sounds like your's. He's knows my mood is always better when there is a Disney trip being planned!
yes!! I mean, NOT having a Disney trip planned is kind of awful! My other sister(between the oldest girl and me) has no interest ever in the world of going to anything Disney. We're probably not really related.

I have a question about ADR's. So, they're 6am Florida time (4am my time, fml) - and you can book them 180 days in advance. Does this just include the first day of my trip 180 days in advance? So I book that day, and then have to stay up until 4am the next day to book the next day of my trip? I hope I'm wording this right.

Our last trip was last minute, so I just booked whatever was available at a reasonable hour for dinner, but this time we really would like to try for our top choices...I just don't know exactly how it works. Also, I hear that you can't get BOG even 180 days in advance, this confuses me.

Never mind, I found it online! Apparently on the 180th day before you get there, you can book 10 days in advance for all the days of your trip. Thanks, internet! :yay: I hear their online reservations go down tons and people just end up calling for ADRs.

@Corsetopia Yes, on the 180th day before your onsite stay, you can book that day plus up to 10 days of an onsite stay at 6am online, 7am on the phone (EST). As for BOG, it is best to try to schedule that toward the end of your trip. At the beginning or middle, you are competing with those with longer stays that are arriving before you.

We had our dining discussion last night and figured out our plan for days and meals!
Our plane lands at 5:30 on a Saturday, so no plans that day.

Arrival Day - no ADRs
Day one: AK morning, go to AKL to see Christmas decor and lunch at Sanaa, evening at DHS (making our FPs here), Star Wars fireworks/new projection show
Day two: resort hopping for Christmas decor, breakfast at GFlo Cafe, MVMCP
Day three: Epcot Morning, AK evening (FPs here), no ADRs
Day four: MK morning, Liberty Tree lunch, DHS or Disney Springs evening (probably DS)
Day five: Pre-Park Opening Garden Grill, Yachtsman dinner
Day six: MK morning, *hopefully* Candlelight Processional Pkg at San Angel
Departure Day - no ADRs

We have 6 day hoppers, so we may pop in somewhere on our MVMCP day

Great plans. I always forget that we can park hop. Like my head is stuck at one park for the day but I can switch it up. I'm new too this planning.

We always get park hoppers, but we usually just hop a couple of times...I feel panicky if we don't have hoppers, because I feel tied down without them, even if we don't use them a lot! This will be the most hopping I have ever planned for us.

You sound a lot like us. We always get it even not used it very much. Our last trip was Thanksgiving week and we had to hop the most we ever had to in order get all of the ADRs we wanted.

We're fans of park hopping and always get them. I don't want to be stuck in a hot, overly crowded park (looking at you AK)--it gives us a sense of freedom. Also, I really love the PM EMH, though I miss the 3 hrs they used to be.

I have never gone without hoppers before....until this Dec trip. It's only 3 park days (skipping AK) and I'm trying to keep the budget small (not that MVMCP helped that much). Anyway, I figure I can always add the hoppers once I get there if I feel the need. It does give me this strange little anxiety and feeling trapped to not have them though!

Yeah, I see that. I guess maybe misinformation. Apologies. Just the messenger here. lol

So I guess they called and the CM on the phone told them. It is on the "first week in Dec" thread. I don't know how to paste the link.

Since we are travelling without kids, food is our #1 priority, so I chose mostly TS. I'm having a hard time finding counter service restaurants that are "must do". Do you have any recommendations? While I don't mind sitting down at a table, I think you have a good point! :)

We were disappointed in our choices for QS on our last trip. We are going to stick mostly to TS to make sure we enjoy our meals. So far the only QS meals we have planned are BOG for lunch and Flame tree BBQ.
