****Official December 2014 Check-In! ****

This will be our first stay at PPH. We stayed last year at GCH, and while it was nice and the location was awesome, we weren't particularly wowed. Have booked a view room at PPH, so we are really excited!
Thanks for the advice on the carolers. Sometimes a person can notice something, but not really stop and pay full attention. Your advice to stop and listen for awhile is duly noted!

Our current Theme Week in the Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread focuses on special little holiday things to see/do at all 3 hotels (such as the gingerbread houses, the carolers, the reindeer, the themed trees, etc.) -- the intro post to the Hotels theme is HERE. Lots of people have posted photos (in fact, someone just posted photos of the carolers today). The whole Theme Week Countdown (which started on July 21st) in general is about stopping to pay attention to all of the details and hidden gems of the holiday season, all around Disneyland Resort, and to notice things that may have previously gone unnoticed.

In this post (a different one than the one linked above), there is more info about the Hotels during the holiday season, including Santa's schedules and other things. I had no idea about the Merriest Holiday Hunt, for example, nor did I know about the Winter Ornament Workshop until after I got home.

I remember when you were planning your trip last year, but I didn't know that you ended up at the GCH!

Threads? There's only one active Disneyland at Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread/discussion/information thread! :woohoo: All previous versions hit the page limits and we had to switch to new threads, but it's basically one thread that has been running for 4 years! Lol.

Any thread that mentions anything Christmas at DL I'm in! Of course the Superthread is the most active and informative with so many awesome pictures. :woohoo:

Right now I'm pondering the Holiday Tour, so have been searching for any comments on that.

The Holiday Time at Disneyland Tour is fabulous!!!!::yes::

We do it every year, and it is so worth it(to us, anyway---especially during the busy week of Christmas), to enjoy the tour first, and know that those reserved Parade seats, yummy treats, and pin are waiting for us at the end!

If it's within your budget, you might want to seriously consider it!:)

The Superthread is also there to cut down on the number of other holiday-related threads that pop up on the board (which can get out of control), and to give out detailed, accurate info.

There is a section for the Holiday Tour on page 1 of the Christmas/Holiday Season Superthread (Look HERE, under Main Street/Holiday Tour), with links to reviews and photos of it from 2013, 2012 and prior years (from the_princess, DizNee Luver, DisneyJamieCA, danimaroo, tksbaskets, etc.). If you have not looked through those tour recaps, I highly recommend that you do, as they give a great overall picture of what the tour will be like, but from slightly different perspectives and in different circumstances!

Were taking my son who's two for the second time this year but my first ever during Xmas well be there dec.21 and 22nd cannot wait!

My BFF and her DD2 have decided to "crash" our trip and will be joining us Dec. 20 - 24. This makes me even more excited! She hasn't been in about 10 years, since DCA was still new and her daughter has never been. I love seeing Disney through new eyes!

We're going to move from the Del Sol to the Desert Inn, so we'll have a bit more room. Is it December yet? LOL!

Fun! Our trip is being "crashed" as well because I decided to throw myself a BIRTHDAY DINNER PARTY at Carthay! Disney is always more fun with the people we care about, don't you think?

I have to agree with your last statement!:thumbsup2

We've never been "crashed" by family yet, but we've been "crashed" by good friends, numerous times, and it has only added to our fun!

We especially love it when we run into friends unexpectedly, and end up coordinating time to spend with them!

I also agree with you about the PPH---like the others, but feel most comfortable at PPH!::yes::

Escape2Disney, so glad you're back and able to update/run this thread! Hope your Birthday Dinner at Carthay Circle is a great success!

Thanks, Cheshirecatty! I hope so too. I may have to take a break from the thread for about a week either at the end of September or start of November for yet another surgery, but the date isn't set yet. This time I will have notice, so I can call in reinforcements sooner. :thumbsup2

this is our first trip to California and Disneyland, we are nervous yet excited for this trip. Part 2 of this trip will be going to the Rose Bowl Parade which is something we always wanted to do.

I will be going to DL December 6th-8th. I will be spending those nights and Friday the 5th too at a nearby hotel. I would love to meet up with some of you. It would also be wonderful to find out as I did post in the Holiday thread, if any of you are going to view the Candlelight Processional on either Saturday or Sunday, please let me know. Perhaps we can take turns holding down a viewing space and just enjoy together. My preference is the earlier times for both Saturday and Sunday. :)

Those are great dates for the parks! Let me know if you have a day/time/location for the meet, and I'll put it on the front page.

EscapetoDisney, thank you and I like your username :) On Saturday the 6th, I plan to get to DL early as I need to get my actual passport and photo taken. I don't know how long that will take or to get in. After that, depending on crowds I was hoping to maybe go on one or two rides and then go back to my hotel for a while. I do have some health issues and need to take it easier than I used to. It sounds like the earlier CP will probably be at 5 or 5:30 and that might require lining up or being in the are a couple hours before that at least? I realize the exact times might not be up for another month or so.

Maybe we can try to figure out who is going to the CP and go from there? I also typically go to the Village Haus by Pinocchio's ride for lunch as my food preferences are indeed kid basic. Maybe that could be a meeting place? I also read last week how the Jungle Cruise becomes the Jingle Cruise and would love to check that out. Dumbo is my ride speed and a favorite, too:) Same with Small World.

I am excited to get to know you and others on here and hope we can meet up. :)
