Just booked our trip yesterday...December 26 - January 3, staying at Port Orleans Riverside!! We are very excited! We have visited WDW during this busy time 4 years ago, and had an awesome time - the only difference will be we have 2 daughters now...so will not be at the parks on the 31st. Planning on swimming, dinner at Ohana's, then watch MK fireworks on the Poly beach - I hear its a great place to see them!

Hi!

12-14 8:00 pm Spirit of the Aloha Dinner Show (at Universal again)

Alos, does anyone know how I can get a ticker in my sig?

I think that's it. Can't wait to see you all there!

We will be eating at the Spirit of Aloha Dinner at that time too.

You can create a ticker by clicking on this link. Tickers
You can then edit your signature and add the link to the ticker.

Hi Everyone

We are planning our first family trip to WDW, the hubby and kids have never been there and the last time I was it was 1989, and I can barely recall anything.

We just bought into the DVC and will be staying at BLT for 7 nights and Kidani Village for 3 nights. Dec 3-13th

Anyone coming from the west coast we just got a great deal with Alaska Airlines for $274.80 round trip plus luggage fees.

We are so overwhelmed with everything. Where to eat, where to go? Ok I really want to attend the candle light procession and Mickeys Christmas party, are they both worth it what happens is everything open in the park during the time?

What else should we see or do?

Our next trip will be Oct 2011, we are buying a annual pass for this visit.

Most important thing is I need is a place with pepperoni pizza, my oldest has autism and this is his one staple. As for everyone else we need a place that has mickey waffles?

Can we take snacks and water bottles into the parks?

We are at BLT the same dates as you.

well I am excited that I get to see Whoopi!!!

I am also religious but I don't care what her views are, she has a right to believe whatever she wants... but she is DAMN funny!!!

I was on phone at 7:00 this morning. Got our Christmas Eve Dinner Reservation at the Castle. So excited. I was afraid I would not be able to get it. I was talking to the Guide and at 7:03 the times we wanted were already booked. We had choice of 6:45 or 8:15, I took the 6:45 as this will give us time to find a good spot to see the parade and fireworks from. We had wanted between 7:15 to 7:30. I love all this planning, its so much fun.

I remember someone posting that if you book online they charged your card immediately, if you did it by phone they did not. I just checked online bank account and the charge was already there. Just FYI for anyone interested.

So glad to have found this board (and the thread). We going December 1-6 to see the Holiday decorations and attend Mousetacular! Probably the first time I wished the summer and fall away. Can't wait for December!!

I made ours online this morning! Get the castle warmed up for us - we went with a later reservation. I think it will be the perfect ending to Christmas Eve.

My card was NOT charged. We are doing Disney Dining, and it did require the card to hold it. The balance was listed as $0.00 at checkout.

We had a vacation booked in December for our whole family, from the 11-17 at ASMu family suites. But decided to just take our two older kids on a surprise trip at the CBR in a pirate room from the 12-17! Were so excited!!

We have ressies at Mama Melrose, CRT, Teppan Edo, Sanaa and Chef Mickey's. Hoping to somehow score a Le Cellier ressie. *fingers crossed* ;)

Your card is only charged over the phone if you do not have a dinning plan. If the CM that took your reservation did not link it to a dinning plan than you card would be charged full price. If you have dinning plan I would call back and have them credit your card and link to your dinning plan reservation. :thumbsup2

I dont know why but it bothers me that Whoopi is doing it.. I def wont see it when shes there. Just seems wrong

I have many political and religious differences with Ms. Goldberg... FOr my family - having her there is wrong. I can get past our political differences but I do not see someone at a celebration of the birth of our savior as a baby spoken by someone who is such a strong supporter of abortion. Not trying to be a downer but that is the reason plain and simple... She can be there, I just have no desire to see her.

Not sure what the reasons of the other person are but that is why we are so upset. But it may turn out to be a blessing after all - my husband is 80% sure we are extending our stay one more day and we'll be able to see Steven Curtis Chapman who is a much more appropriate choice for my family.

I agree that she has a right to believe whatever she wants. For me, though, the Candlelight Processional is a special event that includes reading passages from the Bible about the Christmas story and Jesus. It would seem that Disney should choose narrators that personally believe the stories they are reading. So the resistance to Whoopi being the narrator is that her personal beliefs about religion don't necessarily reflect the story she would be reading.

Whoopi has a great voice and can be expected to do a great job narrating. Although I loved her in Sister Act, for this event, I would choose someone who lives the story in real life and doesn't just act it for the movies! Hence, Steven Curtis Chapman is awesome for the job (and even Jodi Benson!).

Havent been on to be able to reply but that is exactly my thoughts.. i dont hate her I think shes funny and if she was reading "twas the night before Christmas" Ide be all about it.. I just rather have someone that believes in the story read it.. gives it more meaning in my heart

Hi! Myself, DD and my mother are attending WDW from the 11-18th - first time for dd and my mother. I haven't been to disney since I was 11! We're staying at Pop, got a 40% off pin code and even though I wanted to upgrade to a moderate resort - dd wants to stay at Pop because of the colossal characters and toys. lol But hey -I can't complain for 7 nights - our hotel cost is only a little over $400 - that's how much I pay for 2 nights in the big apple!

We have so much planned - hope we can do it all! =P Ah, 5 months to go - just seems so far away lol
