**Official December 2010 Thread!!**

Has anyone here done either the Family Magic Tour, Pirate and Pals fireworks cruise, or the Wishes desert party? We are there for Christmas and every year Santa brings the kids a new excited Disney experiance for Christmas. So I am thinking of doing either the tour or the cruise for their gift this year. I want to do the dessert party just because. Wondering what everyone else's experiances have been.

Ok why can't Dec. get here fast enough.

Just booked the Poly December 11 -15th as a surprise for DH (not sure how I'm going to keep it secret). We had not planned a vacation this year (usually go every summer) due to DH losing his teaching job last year but we are getting back on our feet slowly (DH got a different job while we are waiting for a teaching job to come around) and I couldn't resist the 40% off deluxe pin offer I got . This will be DHs 1st time ever staying at Poly and I haven't been since early childhood with my parents. Neither of us have ever been during the Holiday season so I'm super excited about that!

Now I just need to convince my boss to let me take those days off as I work in an accounting department of a law firm and no vacation is allowed Dec 1 - Feb 1!!! Let's hope my hard work all year (and a little begging ) gets her to say yes! Wish me luck!

Not us, We might use the pools once but I doubt we will use it more than that even if the weather is warm. We have a water park about 15 minutes from our house so we use that all summer long.

Unsure. I think Typhoon Lagoon will be the one closed when we go and I much prefer their area for little kids, not to mention the little girls with cooler temps.... DH and the older two are part polar bear so maybe I'll let them go. We bought the no expiration with water park tickets last time we were there so we have the tickets anyway... I guess we'll leave one day open to allow for a water park and if that doesn't happen we'll actually get to hang out at the hotel/DTD or go shopping for a day.

No I just need DH to get a job or we're downgrading to a campsite and borrowing a tent

we did the WISHES dessert party in Dec on our trip. it was the only night it was really cold and windy. So that put a damper on it. But it was fabulous and we are considering doing it again. Since we are staying at BLT as DVC, we will have access to the TOW lounge to see WISHES from there.......so we might skip the party, just not sure.

We had a lot of fun- we had a party of 14 and ended up with the best tables in the place. they are all setup already with your name on a table, so they are pre-assigned. Ours were front and center, with no one in front of us. The desserts were fabulous and the view was amazing. we got some great shots.

we'd really like to- i've done both waterparks and they are amazing! our son loves the water and has been in swim class since 6mos old (now 2.5), so he would love it. not sure we will find the time to fit it in though, plus we can enjoy our pool or pool hop (DVC). I was thinking about pool hopping one day to the poly (if it isn't on the blacklist).

we did swim a few days during our December trip this past year in 09. It was warm enough.

We'll be going Nov 28th - Dec 5th, staying at the Beach Club! It'll be our first time at the Beach Club and our first time during the holiday season! I've always wanted to see the decorations so early December it is.

We're going Dec. 3-10 at AKL. I decided the beginning of this year was flying by WAY too fast, so I went ahead and booked a December vacation so that it would go by A LOT slower!

We love going in December. It's just so romantic with all the decorations and music. DH and I are both so excited. We got the 40% off as well...so awesome!

Have any of y'all been in Dec. before? I went a lot as a child growing up but we never went in Dec. How are the crowds? When we went there were never tons of people and we would usually wait about 10-20 minutes to get on rides. How is the beginning of Dec.?

I just went this last December 9th-14th. The crowds were minimal, our longest wait was probaly 25 minutes - and that was to meet the Up! characters at the Studios

It can be a bit busier early December due to Pop Warner week, but we didn't notice large crowds because of this - unlike when I went in July and there were South American tour groups, 100+ teenagers!

Wow, your trip details and pictures are awesome!!! A lot of good info. in them. What were the temps. like for your trip? I know FL weather can be crazy. Thanks for answering my questions!

Temps were about 75-80 degrees most days, cooling down in the evenings to about 65, I'd guess?
We wore shorts & tshirts with hoodies/cardigans, that seemed fine for us but we noticed other guests wearing coats/jeans/winter hats sometimes!

The coolest day was when we went to AK and then MVMCP in the evening - it was too cold to swim - probably about 65 but there was a breeze too, seemed so unusual for Florida!

The great thing about Disney World though is that no matter what the weather is like, there's always plenty to do !

Emma--I read your entire trip report and enjoyed every word. It gave me several ideas for things we might want to try on our trip this December. You have such a wonderful writing style--I can almost "hear" you as I read it....and I found myself thinking, "Wow...I'd like to be friends with her--she's so much fun!" Your trip sounds wonderful.
