Official December 2008

My Dec trip is officially paid in full and now only 81 more days to go :cool1:

I am just about to start packing! I have so little room for clothes in my house that i need to swap out my summer for winter clothes.

We get quite a good baggage allowance to fly over from the uk so i can hopefully be prepared for everything!! Do you think it will be cold enough to wear long jeans??

I am also going to book my MVMCP tickets tonight - we are going to go twice as we are in WDW for 17 nights. We are thinking of Sundays 7th and 14th - i'm hoping these will be quiet so that we can get better places for the shows etc. Has anyone got any experience of the parties and which are the best nights to pick?

Yes, I would definitely take jeans. You may only need them at night, but you will probably need them. I go in December packed for all kinds of weather because in 2006, all but one day barely reached 50 degrees and the evenings were in the 30's and cold, especially near water and wind. Then in Dec 2007, the weather was very mild and pleasant, don't remember temsp, but I wore knit capris during the day and jeans and light jacket in the evenings.

GO PREPARED

Hey guys, I was wondering something. I had this idea... and I need some input from some seasoned visitors.
My kids are 3 and 4 (or will be close to that age when we are at DW) and they are pretty shy kids (only to strangers). I am positive that the kids won't approach the characters but will gawk at them. Me on the other hand, I have absolutely no problem with 'making a fool' out of myself for the sake of the kids. I will do anything to help them come out of their shy state (which they get from their father!) This being said, I didn't think the autograph book for them to be a great idea.
Now... we do have many character dining reservations. My kids won't cry or scream when approached, but will be very quiet. So I was thinking that if I were to get a matte from a frame, and get the characters to sign it. That way they will have the autographs in the frame with their pictures in it (hopefully with the characters if I can get the kids to stand alone long enough to get a picture!!). I saw some nice Wilton brand ones on clearance at a local store (will fit a 5x7 picture so the matte a bit larger). I know for the princesses and such it shouldn't be a problem. But what about Mickey and such who have big padded hands and limited vision. Would they be able to see to write on a space like this?
Sorry for the long speel. I just know my kids will love the autographs after the fact, but to get them on their own at every character with an auto book just isn't going to happen this trip. Maybe when they are older. :cutie:
ThankS!

The picture frame idea is a good one, I actually read it on the allears website I believe. I think it would be adorable. The only downside would be carrying the frame around. I was thinking about it too, my son will turn 3 at WDW. I think it might be easier to carry the matte frame around without the glass part in like a folder?

We are at 65 days today!!! :woohoo:

I just thought I would post up a few pics of my kids doing their countdown calendars and getting their 'rings' as we call them. Basically every day they get their calendars off of the fridge.....

Then bring them to the coffee table where we trace the number of days we have left. They know their 8's and 7' all too well since we have been 80-70 days out... but not now!

Mommy helps Kiwi because she is 2.5 and doesn't quite get tracing yet. Even though she tries.

Then when they are done with their numbers I get out the rings. They are numbered with the same number of days as the calendars. Inside the rings is a rolled up piece of paper tied with a ribbon and taped on. This is a surprise Disney character coloring sheet. It's like a little present they get to unwrap.

Brayden checking out what he got this time.

Then, the last day of the month they get to color in their calendar and use stickers and do whatever they want to it. Such a long wait just to color! lol

Finishing off Septembers calendar (which I had to redo mid way through due to us pushing our dates back a week so we could get the QXG rate code and save some $$...yay to dotting out a countdown all over again PER child! :headache: )

It is fun to do this every day, so I just thought I would share. I also send DH an email at work most days with a countdown and an 'interesting fact'.

Seriously, it appears I have way too much time on my hands....:rolleyes1
