I just saw the video of the proposal on Facebook. I think everyone got it wrong, I don't think Erin was upset that they were doing it on "her time", I think she thought it was as corny as I did. Just another way to get votes.

I just found a link for those who want to look at Erin's reaction again. I agree with Marybet. I thought she thought it was such a corny, CONTRIVED time to propose, JUST TO GET VOTES.

A lot of people think Noah should win because he's such a great person, he's overcome so much. I agree with the latter but don't think that's a reason to win. They seem to forget that it's a dance competition. I blame a lot of that on the judges, they have gone easy on him, just like they did with Bristol Palin. Had they given him true scores he would have gone home by now.

I agree. (Putting on flame suit.) I'm sure Noah received some well deserved medals of valor & honor (or whatever the military gives for such heroic acts and sacrifice.) But this show isn't about honoring our military heroes. There are venues & places for that. If THAT was the criteria for this show, then Willow should never even have been on. She hasn't done anything in her 13 years worthy to even stand next to Noah, let alone compete against him. Just my opinion.

I just watched the clip and to be honest... I think Erin rolled her eyes because here is a guy in a relationship taking the next step while her guy is a coke head..

No she does it on Dance Moms too. So does some of the other ALDC girls on the show.

I think Riker and Rumer should be in the finals and hoping that neither of them go home. They have been consistently the best dancers all season.
Just watch the facebook clip and I have to say that Erin looked quite annoyed that they were doing that on the show. As happy as I am for them it seems to me that it was done for votes.
I really don't think the show needs a co host especially because the co host always seems to ask stupid or awkward questions. Tom could carry the show himself. The scores could be given when they are still on the dance floor or if they need time when they go up to the balconey.

The part in the white dress wasn't live. They pre-taped that since it wasn't part of the scoring dance. A lot of the troupe dancing segments are pre-taped as well. Sometimes you can tell when the judges chairs are empty.

I just watched it again... you might be right... lol. The other thing I noticed, I'm sorry but, that was not a surprise proposal. The girlfriend knew it was coming, you can tell it was planned between them. I think her showing up to "surprise" him earlier in the season was planned also. (Flame suit on and zipped up over my head... )

I think you're right on both counts. The producers stage as much as they can and what better thing to stage than a proposal by their #4 dancer to help catapult him into the final 3. (Did you bring an extra flame suit for me?)

I think those two are the best dancers and should definitely make the final. I don't think Noah is anywhere near the other 3 in dance ability. Yes, he is hampered by his disabilities, but IMO, he wouldn't be as talented even with no issues. Nastia has lovely lines, but no emotional range. It makes her performances fall flat for me.

I gave up on believing that DWTC is all about dancing ability long ago. It is mainly a popularity contest- who has the better "story", who has the bigger, more rabid fanbase, and who gets the best (ie, most popular) pro. Thus, you get celebs like Marie Osmond, Bristol Palin, Rob Kardashian, and any one of the NFL players going far in the competition while others with arguably more dance talent going home early.

Does anybody else wonder about the oddest things? Like I wondered why Captain Kirk was speaking up for Noah, why Nadia Commenichi (sp?) still has such a thick accent after all these years, how Rumer kept her first dress in place, how Noah got down on one (only?) knee so easily.....

And I'm hoping Noah goes home (but know he won't) and am dreading Rumer or Riker going home....

I was thinking some of the same things! William Shatner is even Canadian, so I really don't get it. I was sure that Rumer was going to have a wardrobe malfunction. Now I have to go back and watch the proposal video. I'm sure that's something he practices. BTW, the live feed from last night showed Erin looking like she was going to cry.

Are you sure about this? The show is taped before a live audience. The judges may just be off, back in the green room munching, or Carrie Ann in the bathroom snorting or drinking or whatever she does to make herself so manic, as they don't NEED to be in their chairs or even watching the segments they aren't in and the cameras aren't focused on them.

Between this thread and the autism teen booted off the airplane thread, the storeroom for flame suits is getting really low.

And I'm hoping Noah goes home (but know he won't) and am dreading Rumer or Riker going home....

I'm afraid one of them will go home too. But, I didn't want to split my votes for Rumer and toss some to Riker because if everyone split their votes, then Noah or Nastia could move ahead of either of them and end up in the final three over Rumer & Riker.

Now I think that's an insult to dogs, since mine always seem happy to be in a pile (at least on the couch, under a bunch of blankets and pillows...)

And who else thinks Demi is having dirrrrrrty thoughts about Rumer's partner? She does love those younger men (even ones that run in her daughters' circle of friends....)
