I'll be watching just because I love dancing. Sad to see that Cheryl Burke is not amongst the pros this year.

I didn't recognize Suzanne Somers. She does not look good, her face is so puffy.

Dancing with the Stars ended last season (for me) when James Maslow lost. To be honest, I probably won't watch this season.

No, the "stars" or alleged "stars" are supposedly celebrities in their various fields. In past years, they have included: Kirstie Alley from Cheers, Ralph Macchio from the original Karate Kid movie, Donny & Marie Osmond, Kirsti Yamaguchi, Olympic gold medal winner for figure skating.

The professional ballroom dancers who teach, train & choreograph them each week are just know as the "pro dancers."

You don't need to know any ballroom dancing to watch the show. If you've watched any kind of dancing at all, you can tell which people have some rhythm at all, which ones make Kermit the Frog look more graceful, and which ones truly grow throughout the season. Then there are pro athletes thrown into the mic, like the Olympic gymnast this season, who is partnered with one of the best pro dancers on the show, Derek. (He's just started choreographing for the Radio City Rockettes right now, and choreographed last winter Olympics, U.S. figure skating team to a gold medal victory.) So they are usually shoe ins for the winners, as they have such an unfair, natural, graceful, athletic advantage.

But, most of us still watch. It keeps most of our Monday nite TV show threads group together.

I usually have a couple that I root for, but I'm always watching because it's entertaining.....to me! I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Also, Derek, how can we miss you if you won't go away? LOL I bet that will be a good partnership though.

Maybe there will be some drama with Val and his partner. She is good friends with Janel from last season who he appears to no longer be speaking to.

I usually have a couple that I root for, but I'm always watching because it's entertaining.....to me! I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea.

That's why I watch, too. At the start of each season I usually know of less than half of the "stars", but it's fun to get to know them each week and watch their progression. Sometimes I end up rooting for someone that I didn't know prior to this show.

I'm a fan of The Hunger Games, and Shark Tank, so I'm already interested in those "stars", and I like several of the pros.

About Val and Janel? Well, after they showmanced/romanced to high heaven, she was supposed to be in two of the CA DWTS shows dancing with Val. Then they both started tweeting teenaged drama style things like "I won't compete for love" and "Just because you are good together, doesn't mean you are good for each other" and then she unfollowed him on Twitter and Instagram and I think he did the same. They never directly tweeted each other but it was clear they were targeting each other. She pulled out of appearing in the CA DWTS shows and seems to be back with the boyfriend who publicly broke up with her on Instagram in the middle of Season 19.

I am actually a pretty big Val fan but the "chemistry" angle with Janel last season drove me totally crazy so it does make me chuckle that their hot chemistry seemingly crashed and burned pretty quickly.

And Rumer is good friends with both Janel AND the ex boyfriend, possibly current again boyfriend. They all work together in some shows out in LA.

Thanks...that could have been a whole season show right there lol. I had no idea Rumer was actually on anything as of late, but interested in getting to know her, and hoping her Dad is in the audience, A LOT! I also like Robert H from SharkTank and would like to see Suzanne Sommers do well. I like Kym and Witney of the Pro's, and Tony and Val lol...It's an O.K. season for me.

The Lynch kids are some of those actor/dancer/singer Disney kids so I see some competition there.

Ok I'm sorry the Lynch kids? The youngest one is 19... Also only one belongs to disney and it's not Riker
They do have a band together called R5
Riker Lynch is an actor/singer been in glee as back up dancer/singer for episodes. However they aren't fully associated by disney

But I agree he will get a huge following because of it

I know about R5. My daughter is a fan. I know Riker is from Glee as well. My bad if I got the Disney affiliation wrong. I was basically saying they are a talented family and that Riker will probably bring some good competition.
