It is hard to get excited about anyone on this list. It looks like a fail except for the bad dancing potential from Alfonso Ribeiro:

You are right. "Bad" is the wrong word. Goofy maybe on that Tom Jones song but he really can move. I know he is older but I think he will be entertaining.

Betsey Johnson, fashion designer. Known for mixing wild colors and pattern. Costumes should be interesting, I'm sure she will want a hand in them.

I've heard that Bachelorette Andi might be on, and maybe Josh too.

I met Alfonso.......had to go look at my scrapbook since I don't really know him. DD is the Fresh Prince fan.
He was on a Disney cruise and I met him there

Alfonso Ribeiro starred on Broadway in "The Tap Dance Kid" (he was the kid.)

He is a dancer.. which is probably why the Carlton Dance is so funny and well done.

The guy is a dancer!

Alfonso Ribeiro was discovered and was understudy for the Broadway show, Tap Dance Kid, before he filmed the Michael Jackson video. Alfonso used to be a professional tap dancer. He has an extremely disciplined dance background as he got to study and dance with the legendary tap dancing brothers, Gregory & Maurice Hines.


Speaking of Gregory Hines and since this is a dancing thread, people might be interested in seeing this old video of ballet great, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Gregory Hines in the movie, White Nights. The guy watching them on the monitor is because Baryshnikov is under surveillance.

I'm semi bummed about Mark getting Sadie, because I like Mark and I'm not a fan of that family, no matter how sweet she is. I'm also a little bummed that Emma once again gets an older guy. I know she's great with them, and this is only her 3rd season, but man. I guess she's the Tristan of the female pros. I wish she and Cheryl's partners had been switched. Although, to my recollection we've never had a nascar driver on DWTS, so we don't know how motivated that fanbase could be.

You have never seen a fanbase like NASCAR. Trust me, I am a NASCAR fan. And I like Mikey enough(that's what we call him), though I like big brother Darrell even better. I don't know how well he dances, but he's not so different from Bill Engvall, so Emma was paired well. If he enjoys himself and puts in the effort he could go just as far. His big problem is his height. He's 6ft 5in. so that may work against him.

I heard rumors the other day about Mikey which is why I checked in here. I'll probably check in the first night to see Mikey but I don't plan on staying the whole season.

Altogether, I have heard of 7 people on the list, but can only pick 4 maybe 5 out of a lineup.

Even though I had to look to see who some of these people are (Tavis Smiley, Janel, the MMA guy and Bethany Mota were the ones I was not sure of), I am still going to watch. I love the dances and i enjoy getting to know who these people are. I never know, I may end up a fan of someone I had never heard of before!

Fingers crossed that "The Carlton" is worked in somewhere!!!!!

don't know most of them....

once again, derek gets (what looks like) the "frontrunner", whoever she is

(is it in his contract or something? - he never gets a Cloris or Susan Lucci...)

really only familiar with 2 of them: Tommy Chong & Betsey Johnson

(old stoner, and aging designer)

so basically, we'll watch until they're voted out (figuring both by week 4 or 5)

and that will free up our evening TV time, since we probably won't watch after they're gone

Normally I really enjoy this show. I liked alot of the past season performers and knew I think almost all of them. I have to say I really am not interested in this new group so I'm not sure I'll even watch. Maybe I'll give it a try and see????

Uh huh, that's what I figured when I turned it on for Bill Engvall. Week 4 tops, he'll be out and then I'm done cause he can't possibly dance that well, and this is just really not my kind of show HE LASTED THE WHOLE SEASON!

I have no idea who Betsey is, but marijuana is legal in a bunch of places now, so if Tommy is still toking who knows how long he'll last
