As did I. I wanted to be sure I understood the process. LOL If I don't think too much about how they are brothers dancing around naked with each other wearing just hats, that photo shoot is way hot. LOL

Today I saw an article that said that Maks and Meryl are pretending to be a couple to keep the buzz going so they get paid for these days after the show.

Here's my problem with it - you can't fake the body language they're giving off. If you watch their interviews together, they're both leaning towards each other and that would be hard to fake/keep up constantly. I don't remember her and Charlie ever acting like that.

Meh. An "insider" told the Hollywood Life blog the whole scoop? I think the "insider" was a little voice inside the blogger's head.

I've seen a couple of other articles and interviews with people (namely Mark and Karina) saying it was all just part of the show as well. And then you had poor Meryl being rudely questioned by Wendy Williams and just coming out and saying "No, we are not dating."

Here is my take on it. I have no idea if they are pursuing or plan to pursue a romantic relationship. I also don't really care all that much. But at the same time, I don't think any of what they showed us was false. Whether all off that physical affection was romantic in nature or not, I don't think it was a show or manipulation of any kind. I think they truly enjoyed working together and had enormous respect and admiration for each other and that translated into what we saw on TV. I've seen Maks on General Hospital and he is frankly not that convincing of an actor.

I should also note that I think the intense romantic moments on the dance floor are something else entirely from the touchy feely stuff in the interviews and rehearsal packages. I never ever have an issue with the on the dance floor chemistry because that is the point. We are supposed to believe we are watching two people in love or two people at odds or whatever the theme of the dance is. I want them to lay it on thick!

It is when the off dance floor stuff is contrived and manipulated that it becomes annoying and I think all of the pros are guilty of that every once in a while with the most obnoxious example being Val and Kelly (ick). But I really don't think that is what was happening with Maks and Meryl. I think what we saw was real, I am just not sure if what we saw was romantic interest. Val actually gave a great interview about it where he describes his impression of their relationship which I would guess is likely spot on:

Don't be thrown off by the headline of "Val says Maks loves Meryl more than any other woman." LOL He does say that but his elaboration clarifies that he doesn't necessarily mean in a romantic way.
