I've been watching the season 5 DVDs. I love the commentary that they do for some episodes. They did a commentary on "Lives of Others", the 100th episode. (Marlowe, Terri Miller, the editor, and the music guy Robert Duncan) and Marlowe mentioned another throwback to early episodes. Remember the scene towards the end when Kate & Rick are all dressed up to go to dinner and he realizes the guy across the way took the soda out of the cabinet? Remember during Kate's speech she leans towards Castle? Well, that was a throwback to the first episode where Kate leans toward Castle while questioning him.

I do wish they had the complete list of everything somewhere. As well as all the sci-fi connections from "Final Frontier", because I know I missed a few. And if you get the chance, also listen to the commentary on FF. Nathan Fillion and Jonathon Frakes (director, who was on ST:TNG) talking about the episode was fantastic. And they also mention a bit that got cut. As Castle walks thru the convention, he comes face-to-face with someone dressed like Capt. Mal, Caleb (from Buffy) and Capt. Hammer!

BTW, are you reading Deadly Heat? I'm beginning to wonder if this one has a new writer; there are some grammatical clues that the author may now be British. (Also, it doesn't flow quite as well as the earlier novels, and though the references to the show are fun, there may be too many of them here; it kind of feels forced.)
