Official "Castle" thread! Spoilers welcomed!

I was thinking some more about Castle's gift to Kate, and I don't think it's big. I bet it's jewelry of some kind - not a ring. Remember back in "Probable Cause" when they had the conversion about her hinting about liking jewelry? And I bet it ends up with Gates somehow. :lmao:

I saw the Alexis-in-danger plotline coming even before Marlowe leaked it -- "catnip for the predators on the Internet" was an anvil if ever there was one.

Gates knows -- you KNOW she knows. Making them squirm is a game she is playing, probably just to press her power advantage.

Also, I think I'm the only fan on the planet who didn't like Lanie's dress -- it just wasn't all that flattering on her IMO -- too tight. She would have done better with something flared at the hem and more sculpted on top. (Although I *did* chuckle at that "Eyes up, Bud!" comment from Beckett.)

Very good episode. I'm glad to see the actress who plays Alexis getting more screen time!

One of the things that I liked were the subtle call-outs to past eps -- like Sara ragging Alexis about how long she was taking with the hairpins, and the reference to it being "cold in here" -- in a room that was lined with metal sheeting and was roughly the dimensions of a cargo container.

If you think about various foreshadowing that we got in previous seasons, it makes sense that if Castle's father is going to be professionally involved in the rescue, then it would have to take place somewhere outside of the US. (This show is funny that way -- sometimes they take more pains with accuracy on minor plot points than on major ones; including the whole premise of the show itself. ;))

FWIW, I'm re-reading Frozen Heat this week -- I'm betting there will be references from it in next week's ep, and it will be fun to spot them.

PS: I thought that in the close-up shots the actress who was playing Sara el-Masri looked oddly mature for a college freshman, so I looked her up. I was right; she's 34 years old (the same age as Stana Katic.)

Ah, the Rodgers/Castle family ... how they treasure that special police artist sketch of dear old grandad!

I *so* hope that the design team has one of those sketches of Brolin framed and put up on the bookshelf in Castle's study. It will be perfect next to that catalyzer from the Serenity.

For any Firefly fans:

you probably already know about Gina Torres on Castle tonight. Summer Glau is also on Hawaii Five-0, so set your DVR, if interested!:)
Gina Torres stars in a delightful series called "Suits." Domineering. . .in a good way.

SPOILER FOLLOWS! (I know it says "spoilers welcome" but just in case ;))

As for the part 2 episode that just aired, I for one thought it jumped the shark. There, I said it. I love "Castle," enjoy Fillion (since his days as Mal), and think there's life left in the series. But, really? France? Spy stuff? A blind guy who can identify specific sounds in a city of millions? A Russian dude who just happens to own a cage in which to keep a human hostage in the middle of his high-rent penthouse? It was just too much to swallow.
