I just booked a city special Full size car at Dollar car rental picking it up at the airport for $84.00 per week or $135.55 out the door. My dates are Sept 24th through Oct 1st !
Yesterday I rebooked with Dollar for a mid-size car - Dodge Avenger or similiar. I am an AAA member and a 15% discount popped up for AAA members on the Dollar website that I was able to use.
It was 89.95 with taxes and fees 123.32. For Sept. 10 through Sept. 15th.
I'm happy with that since it averages out to a little less than 25.00 a day total.
I still think that we're going to see another price drop over the next couple of days. Historically, prices jump up right around labour day and then drop shortly thereafter. I've never paid more than $20/day all in for a full size in September.
We have an Alamo reservation for Saturday. I did the on-line checkin so that we could go straight to the garage. I need to add DH as a driver. I am assuming I need to add him at the booth at the garage or do I do it as we exit?
As of yesterday i have 2 reservations for 9/13 til 9/20 for a minivan. One is through EZ rental car which is in the terminal for 179 dollars, and the other is at payless which is offsite (shuttle) and that is for 165 dollars. I love these prices.....If they somehow manage to get even lower, I will be ecstatic. haha.
Still hanging at $112 for alamo and $113 for dollar. Question though. Last time we rented a car they told us to walk right out to the garage but had assigned us a car in the opposite terminal, it was a big pain to get corrected. How do I know which side I go to? A or B?

Are you an insider? I used the regular insider discount, combined with the free upgrade for insiders. My price was for a standard, which at MCO let's you choose from the full size aisle. I tried your dates, assuming a noon drop off and pick up, and got the same neighborhood as you for price, but if I put in one less day, it's back into the $70s total. Maybe try booking the 4 days, then call and jut ask to add a day at the same rate? Maybe gmeh1 can tell us if that might work.
Unfortunately I didn't see a place to add him when I did check-in. It won't let me make any changes now so we will have to add him at the airport--no big deal!
My trip this year is to DL not WDW but today my minivan rate from Alamo was down from 330 to 250 using the insiders and visa code (its not at capacity for LAX!)...that's for travel from the 12-21st...
My lowest ever price at WDW for a van in september was a few years ago and was 201 for 8 days (25$ a day) this is pretty close to that at 28$ a day now! (And much better than 36+$ a day!!!)
Hope others at WDW are seeing rate drops for next week too!
It really is true, if you find a cheap rate, book it and keep it while waiting until closer to time. I needed a car for our family of 4 from Houston Hobby to Galveston for our cruise, cheapest BY far is Dollar for $202 for 8 days 9/27-10/5. Still watching, but glad I booked when I did.
48 hours before my trip and the rates haven't dropped yet. They're sitting higher than they were about a month ago. Book early and continue to watch; my lowest cost came at 10 days out. (alamo)
