I'm with you on this one. I am doing the DxDP and have made ADR's for Jiko,Narcoossee's, Citricos, Artist Point, Monsieur Paul and Flying Fish. Even if CG opens up I think I'm going to pass. ;)

Great choices!!! I have been to all but MP and they are all great! I really want to do MP but nobody in my group does :( I hope you report back once you return!

I have to chime in here as I don't have children, but I do happen to enjoy them. I, too, find it very rude when a child misbehaves and the parent has either no control over them or chooses "not to engage". You don't really get to make that choice when you are in a public space infringing on the enjoyment of others. Sure, they are children and yes, they will act up. It is, however, the parent's responsibility to control it. The excuse - and yes it is an excuse for not wanting to instill good manners and proper decorum - that "they are just children" is not acceptable. "If we don't want to deal with it, we should stay home" seems like an irresponsible cop out.

Well said.

It has taken so long to get the reservations I am starting to get excited about the other restaurants I have made reservations for and am building plans around them. Starting to get tired of all this planning and waiting for a dinner reservation on a vacation...

I agree. We have Citricos as our backup. We will dine there and then head to the Top of the World Lounge to watch the fireworks! :cool1:

I have been watching this thread for quite some time and finally decided to make other plans.
We went to WDW in Feb and CG wasn't open then so I was hoping to get in this Sept trip. I've elected to try HDDR. Opted for fun over romance. Haven't tried anything over at FW before.
Now I can concentrate on moving my GG ADR past its current 4:15 time.

Me too. I caved last night and booked Flying Fish. Am now officially done and booked :)

Lets keep the posts to Calfiornia grill Open ADR watch..

I hope that all of you get to where you want to go and enjoy your visit to Disney..

Just like a brother and sister fussing in the back seat when we get bored on a long trip!!!!!! :thumbsup2

He's touching meeeeee.......... :)

We made a Victoria and Albert's reservation instead:yay: We were at California Grill on the last night before they closed for reservations. If the stars aligned it would be really cool to be there for the first day back as well.

We are heading down between Sept 19th-Sept 28th. So anything is possible! But I don't know if I could justify going to V&A and CG on the same trip

Checked again this morning and nope I was checking for sept 13-15 I have a reservation for Narcoossees in case but I'm not feeling it. Trying to come up with another idea

LoL - we're so SPOILED! I feel the same!

FWIW, I talked to a CM today. She said she's started checking CG first thing every morning, but she doesn't *expect* the CG ADR system to go live until after the soft opening. Try as I might, I couldn't get anything more out of her ;-)

Those poor CMs. They are probably SO tired of the same questions, haha.

Some teaser images from my zoom the other day. I too am trying, we wanted to go for our anniv. dinner, but Yachtsman was a great alternate, if not better. Just needs the fireworks. But look at these pics, just teasing us, laughing at us. They could open a section for ice cream fireworks at least.

Haha, dumb me didn't realize there was three pics..

"since when is it multi-floored? they've been doing a LOT of renovations..":rotfl2:

We are viewing this as an opportunity to try new places, although we are still hoping to get a reservation for our holiday trip.

I have been checking daily for months trying to get a reservation for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner in October. I have booked Flying Fish, but I am not ready to give up the dream! Whatever happens we will have a great time.

Us, too!!! It was such a lovely night. Seeing all the "regulars" hugging the servers. The staff seemed genuinely touched by the moment. We had to wait a fair bit past our ADR time and the hostess allowed my daughter to "start" the fireworks. Great memories and now CG will be a must do for every trip!!

My husband proposed to me at CG on the balcony overlooking the fireworks show at MK. We must return this year in Dec to celebrate our 5th year anniversary of our proposal. CG will also hold a special place in my heart!!

CM just told me that CG is scheduled to start booking ADRs when it opens on September 1st.
