Ok. This is literally an OBSESSION at this point. I check like 15 times a DAY to see if rezzies are open yet - AGH.

Here's a good update. My mom just came back from a trip down there and talked to a cm about why there's a delay. Apparently the refurb got pushed back bc they ordered the wrong grill or something, so the opening looks to be around September 9 or so, cms are supposedly heading there this week to set up things, and to look for adrs to pop up this week or next. I'd bet next week. But who really knows at this rate. Heck, at least there's an opening "date" attached, right?

Well hopefully she meant that's the actual opening and there will be a soft opening that you can catch the week before. Not sure about it, but *fingers crossed*

Honestly, I don't feel your comments have any value. As someone who does not have children, you have NO idea what it's like. Believe me, I've been there, done that. Judging the kids, or parents even, for their poor behavior. But the fact of the matter is, it's quite ignorant on your part to feel that kids are expected to show any type of "proper decorum" especially kids under the age of 5...or that parents make "excuses" for not instilling good manners. Sorry, but my kids are GREAT kids, both under 5... But unfortunately they are not perfect! Kids, just like adults have bad days. Don't speak unless you have a leg to stand on.

Should you not go out to eat because there are kids there, no. But in all reality, you are going to a place that's FOR children and families. Kids aren't perfect. Just like there could be a rude or rowdy adult, there could be a cranky, crying toddler. Pleasant, no. But we deal and we make the best of it.

Umm, I have two kids and I agree with midaroco. That's all. Thanks.

Got all my other ADR's in April and just finished all my F&W bookings - now all I need is Cali Grill for our Octobr trip. HOpefully they'll open soon but I suspect it will an IT/phone nightmare if this morning and yesterday were any indication for F&W. *sigh*

This wait is killing me! So far, I'm still hearing an 8/25 soft opening with a early September official opening (something like 9/1). With the official opening just weeks away, you'd think they'd open up ADRs anytime now!

And yet another rumor, opinion, or whatever on the CG opening - while booking a Food & Wine event, I asked the CM about Cali Grill. Definitely opening September 1. Of course, she was right - it will open Sept 1, in 2014, 2015, etc. - but the question we all want to know is will it open Sept 1 of THIS year. Time will tell, but I've got alternate plans.

It has taken so long to get the reservations I am starting to get excited about the other restaurants I have made reservations for and am building plans around them. Starting to get tired of all this planning and waiting for a dinner reservation on a vacation...

Sadly I don't think they mind... even if they can't fill the restaurant with us when it opens (unlikely) they would probably like a calmer scenario to get the kinks out.

I am kinda in the same boat. We have Artist Point as an alternate ADR and are working out plans to go over to Pioneer Hall to pick up the wagon ride to watch the fireworks from the location they bring you too with the audo for wishes (will be Hallowishes when we go)

Though we really love CG and have some new people coming with us that we want to introduce to it, but I am sure we will have a great night either way

Agreed. I made a back up plan of Flying Fish for the wife and I, and now I'm getting excited about spending the night on the Boardwalk.

I agree with the others who have said they are getting excited for other plans... I have Citricos and am planning on dessert and fireworks at Narcoossees I love spending time at the Grand Floridian

Yes. I'm officially over it myself. I think we will stick with Narcoossees and Jiko this trip. Good luck with your ADRs all.

I'm with you on this one. I am doing the DxDP and have made ADR's for Jiko,Narcoossee's, Citricos, Artist Point, Monsieur Paul and Flying Fish. Even if CG opens up I think I'm going to pass.
