So we are expecting reservations to open in July? or in August when the work is completed?

The refurb schedule was updated to end on 8/24.

I would love to get in before I leave on 8/30.

Because it's a lot easier to just keep it closed rather than have to cancel reservations if something goes wrong.

Because it's a lot easier to just keep it closed rather than have to cancel reservations if something goes wrong.

They closed the California Grill in early Feb. I cant make ressies from late Dec into early January. They will not be doing renovations at that time. They couldnt afford to keep the restaurant closed that long. They just find it easier not to let people book until they are open but there are going to be a lot of cancellations and moving of reservations by postponing the taking of reservations for such a long period. I will continue to stalk until they release the December and January ressies.

And to make Dec/Jan resv BEFORE making Sept resv's would be quite silly and would make even more people mad

I have to check this thread every day because the first day I don't, reservations will open up and I will get shut out for my times.

No one would be mad. That's ridiculous. You open up the reservations for the dates you know for sure you'll be open, and then if you open earlier, you can open up those days as well.

I don't care how they do it either way, but in no way would it be "silly" to start reservations for dates you know will be available.

IMO, they won't open December/January until they have a solid open date because they have nothing to gain by doing so. Delays are always possible, even huge ones and it is far better for them to under promise and over deliver - having to call hundreds of people and explain that the coveted ARDs they snagged will be unuseable would be a nightmare for them.
This way, they are building expectations. They know it will be hugely popular the first several months and they will have no difficulty filling the tables. They did the same thing with BOG last year - they thought it would be open sometime November/December but everyone had to wait till they had a solid open date, even the january/February peeps. I am dreading trying to get the ADRs for CG in December because I am guessing they will open 4-5 months of ADRs on one day and it will be a circus. Oh well, what else would I do with my free time?

Did anyone else get fooled by the zombie thread on the main board that said CG ADRs were open?

Oh, and FWIW, I did notice a couple nights ago that the lights inside of CG were on. Not sure if they've been doing that throughout the entire refurb or if it's new though.
