That cake is just fantastic!!!! I can't think what the $300 cake would have been like, that looks like a $300 cake. Maybe the $300 cake was going to be coated in gold or something :lmao:

Anyway thanks so much for posting the photo, I LOVE it!

Anyone have experience with ordering cake at BW? We hope to stay here and would like to order one for our last night.

I know there is a cake thread and I had read it and decided what I want to get. OK here's the deal, I am going to WDW Valentine's Day weekend. Its also my parents aniversary, so I was thinking of ordering a cake to bring home on the 14th for them. So Boardwalk is the only place I can order a cake and pick it up right? I am driving to/from WDW so travel is not a problem. Can someone tell me the # for Boardwalk Bakery and how in the world I get there? I have no idea where its located. Also is there a particuliar contact person to ask for? Thanks so much!!

Just thought I'd post my most recent experience...

A week or so ago, I emailed Brian at the Contemporary to discuss cake ideas and get some options. We settled on exactly what I wanted and I was then able to call the CR private dining directly to order. I gave a credit card as a guarantee, but it will be charged to our room.

-8 inch chocolate cake with bavarian cream filling
-bright blue fondant
-white chocolate monorail (Brian also said he'd throw in some other fun touches)
-personal message written on the cake

To be delivered to our room at Bay Lake Tower on Feb. 7th. Cost is $100 plus room service fees for delivery.

I'll post pictures here after we get it!

Like the cake thread says you need to call the cake hotline the number is on the first page. Follow the promts and then ask to be put through to the BW bakery.

Is is possible to get the mini wedding cake with chocolate cake and chocolate frosting? There will just be 4 of us for my DD4's b-day and I don't want a ton of cake and to pay a fortune, but I would like something pretty. Chocolate is her favorite. We will be at 1900 PF, so I would love the mini wedding cake with chocolate cake and Cinderella-colored flowers, then to bring a Cinderella cake topper for them to put on top? Is this feasible?

ohhhh does anyone have a pic of the mini wedding cake?

our wedding cake was a disaster - our professional was very very sloppy and terrible and i'd love to have a nice one for our anniversary.

We are going to be celebrating my son's 7th BD at WDW and I want to get him a cake. He wants it to be a Toy Story cake with figurines on it (Woody, Jessie, Buzz and Zurg).

They sell the pack of these figurines at the Disney store for $10 so I thought it might be easiest to just put these on a cake that I order. My question is: if I order an 8" cake - can I tell them that I am going to be adding the figures to the top and ask them to decorate it with coordinating colors? Or can I go to the Bakery and drop the figures off and ask them to add them on a cake for me?

I wonder if it would be possible to get an "Up" themed cake? We will be there for DS's 4th birthday, and that is currently his favorite movie. Other DS's 11th birthday is the following week. Maybe I should do something for both of them. Oh well, I'll be watching as I have until April to decide.

Yes you can ask to have your cake decorated to coordinate with the figures but the bakery will be unable to add the figurines do to food safety standards you will have to add then to the cake yourself

If you have a custom cake delivered to a table service setting, does it get added to your bill, or do you have to pre-pay? Can TIW discount be used on the custom cake? Thanks!

You can ask them to decorate the cake in Cinderella colors. Mini wedding cakes are meant for single servings. Though they look larger in photos that other guests have posted they generally are only about 3 inches in diameter

I think an UP cake would be cool! Its my DHs favorite Disney movie so am thinking about ordering this for our Anni.
But from who is the question.

Can we get a "Mickey Head" cake delivered to Planet Hollywood?

The Disney Dining online reservations list custom cakes as an option at every sit-down restaurant ... but I haven't recalled any mention before of the Downtown Disney restaurants here on the chat thread. :confused3

Am I the only one who is not really digging the 2 dimensional pics of characters that seem to be popping up a lot now?

Different people are told different things at different restaurants! :cutie: Our experience was that we weren't charged until we got the cake, and it was added to the dinner bill, so we could have used the TIW card if we'd had one. Of course, then it triggers an automatic 18% gratuity on the price of the cake as well as the meal, which some people object to.

To get a cake at a non-Disney-owned restaurant like those at Downtown Disney, you need to call the restaurant directly - they don't fall under the umbrella of the Cake Hotline. :thumbsup2

You are not the only one. :wave2:

Next year we are hoping to stay at the BWV and I are going on the Wonder to the Canal and I thought the mini wedding cake turned into a Bon Voyage Cake. I thought maybe with red and yelllo piping and 2 chocolate strawberries. Possible. I was hoping to order it the day we check in and have it for diner at the Capt's grill.

Here's my DW birthday cake that we enjoyed at the wave last Monday. Chef Brian did an outstanding job. My wife was wowed.

Wow! What a lovely cake. Can I ask how much it was and what kind of cake it was? I've never seen a Cinderella chocolate statue like that, it's beautiful!:goodvibes
