If you call the Cake Hotline it will walk you through prompts for the various restaurants that can do cakes. Listen for one of the PO restaurants and follow those prompts. Sorry I don't have better info but I'm honestly not sure if PO can do cakes or not.

We have ordered the 'allergy' cake in the past and not been very happy with it. The problem is that that one cake they sue for all wheat/gluten/dairy/egg/nut allergies. My dd is only allergic to dairy so we don't need all that. They also don't decorate them very much. This year I called our hotel's private dining (BCV) and spoke directly to a chef. They are making her a vegan cake with fondant and princesses. We get it monday I'll let you know how it is. SInce you daughter daughter is 1 it's probably not that important how good the cake is. My daughter is 7 and it's all about the decorations.

I specifically asked and she said it will be gluten free- not all the allergens. Just GF. And they are decorating it as I requested. My daughter is turning 6, not one- so it better be tasty too! Obviously it can't be dairy free with buttercream frosting. Maybe I'll call her back just to make sure.

I believe georgiasmom was referring to my post. I asked about dairy-free cakes for my daughter's 1st birthday.

Yes, please do let me know how your cake is! I would really love to know how a vegan cake would be. Decorations would be nice but you are right - taste is way more important to a one year old!

They have pink princess ones too if you want to do something a little girlier but also get one of the chests.

Hi all! Not too sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I will start here...

Our next trip is for DS's 16th birthday. He wants to have dinner at either Le Cellier or Tutto Italia, but he HATES cake (honestly I think it stems from a very bad experience when he was younger, he hasn't eaten cake in several years). So, I have seen may people post pictures of other beautiful items, such as the chocolate Mickey, Chocolate covered strawberries, etc. Is it possible to order items like that special for his birthday? Can a dessert be special ordered and customized for him?

I'm not sure of the answer to your question, but it made me smile because it reminded me of my DS who's now almost 21. He doesn't hate cake, but he doesn't really care for it, and usually has a birthday pie or cookie instead. When he was in elementary school and would go to friends birthday parties, he would tell the mom that he was allergic to cake because he didn't want to say that he just didn't like it.

I know your choices for the small 6" cake is chocolate or vanilla but can they make one layer vanilla and the other chocolate? What is the smalled size where you can get different options?

I am not sure what to get for my DD's 5th b.day.

Just thought I would share my feedback from Pat (from GF) - Regarding the pirate themed cake MinnieFan1 posted back in September 2009 (post #2546). MinnieFan1 indicated she was charged $92 at that time for her cake. I had sent a print screen of the cake to Pat because I like the chest and gold cup on top of the cake. When I spoke to Pat last night, she said if I wanted the same exact cake, the charge would be $142..... $50 increase just four months later. Quite amazing to me that the cost can change that much in such a short time period!!!!

Pat was very nice and spent an hour on the phone with me. She didn't think what I wanted would be cohesive on the cake, suggested a different design, then tossed the entire idea and came up with an entirely new design. Hoping the cake will all turn out well in two weeks here, and the girls will like it (because, at the end of the day, just wanted the girls to be wow'ed by the cake). Will try to post pictures when I get back.

I had a great experience with WDW. I want to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. We are actually going to Florida to look at colleges but are also surprising her with a trip to WDW. I called the cake hotline and got to the Wilderness Lodge. I left a message with my request. I got a call back within 5 minutes and the woman gave me the e-mail for the Contemporary Bakery. I have gone forth a couple of times planning a cake for my daughter. I had great ideas but unfortunately my budget won't allow for my ideas but they (Brian) have been great to work with.

To answer your question, go through the hotline and hopefully you will be set up with Contemporary Private dining and/or the bakery.

Good Luck. So far I am very happy with the response I have gotten, in spite of the fact that I can't afford what I would really like.

Ordered my cake yesterday from Pat. I got an 8 inch chocolate. My choices were either chocolate or vanilla, because the cake must be gluten free. That's OK, because the fact that I can have a fancy gluten free cake and not have to make it myself....YIPEE!!!!

It is for DD 6th Birthday. So chocolate, with choc mousse filling. Went with pink buttercream frosting instead of the chocolate ganache (since that cannot be turned pink )

I added the white chocolate mini-castle. Behind the castle will be all the princesses, and she said they will do it up pretty for a little girl.

We will be dining at 1900 park fare next week.
FOr all of you that need to order- 1-2 weeks prior seems to work out well.

Please update us on how this cake turns out! I can't wait to hear how it tastes. I hope it is a great experience for you and especially for your daughter.

Hi! We will be celebrating my dd's 9th birthday at WDW this spring and she wants her birthday dinner at Le Cellier. Has anyone ordered a cake there and do you have pictures? I haven't really seen or read of any examples from this restaurant in particular.

Also, can you have a cake delivered to the room at Pop Century? (This is if LeCellier doesn't work out) Are they just the 6inch premade cakes or can one be ordered more customized? The last example I read about on the cake thread was on the old thread last summer. Wondered what was currenly available.

I am going to WDW and meeting up with some disers I met a few year ago from Scotland. We have kept in touch since. They are coming over for their second WDW/Florida trip. I will be spending a week with them. One of their must do's this trip is WCC. We have our reservation, but I am thinking about getting a special cake to say thank you/ or thanks for the memories/ or something like that.this dinner will be on the Friday before I leave on Sat.They will be staying another couple of weeks. What kind of cakes has anyone gotten from WCC. The post before this said they were given the contemporary. Do they do the cakes for wilderness Lodge? Anyone have any pictures of WL cakes.

We get tons of posts on here asking about having a cake delivered to the resort room as a special welcome surprise, birthday celebration, etc. And, we all know that the Disney cakes are EXPENSIVE and a lot of people end up disappointed with what they get. And, not all resorts are able to provide the service at all.

So...I thought I'd throw out this alternative suggestion. We've used this company several times and been very pleased. They will hand deliver to the Disney resorts.

The company is called "Cookies By Design" and they do the cutest cookie arrangements. I'm attaching a link to their Mickey and Friends page, but, if you click on the link for "Licensed Designs" you will see that they also do Disney Princess ones and Winnie the Pooh ones. The prices are very reasonable and you can personalize the message on the cookies. They also have special ones for holidays...Christmas, Valentines, Halloween, etc!

Thank you very much for the information and link. Previously I posted on this thread asking if there were any other options for special desserts for someone who does not eat cake and got no reponses. We will be there for DS 16th birthday and he does NOT eat cake. This is the perfect solution. Considering the cost of the cakes, I really did not want to buy one just for appearance sake. Thank you again!
