Here's the cake I ordered

Came from the Boardwalk Bakery
Delivered to the Saratoga Springs Resort
Cost $80

10inch Chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries. Burgundy and silver fondant.

It was amazing! Moist and rich flavour and the raspberries, just perfect :cloud9:

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes: Can I order a cake to be delivered or made at Tuto Itallia? My DD is turning 13 on our trip in Dec. and we are having dinner at a restaurant of her choice on that day, so I'd like to get her a cake. She loves Tira Misu, and they serve that there, so I suspect that is why she chose that as her Birthday Restaurant. I'd like to have a cake made with Tira Misu flavor or something special made for her. I think turning a teenager is a big deal and this is a good kid. She makes good grades, is in the SCA and a cheerleader. She says she doesn't us to spend our $$ on her, but I'd still like to surprise her. Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks for any help.

Hey everyone! Just a quick question for the cake ordering experts out there. How long does it usually take someone to get back to you on cake ordering? I need a gluten free/dairy free cake for my 30th birthday Feb. 5th and need an idea of what's available, if they can decorate, etc. I called the Cake Hotline and they gave me the Contemporary Bakery email address. It's been a week and no response. I also emailed Brenda Bennett and she forwarded my requests on to them too. I have plenty of time, but I'd like to get a sense of what to plan and what's available. IPO wasn't that helpful either. They told me to go to Cake Hotline. Any tips you guys have would be great!

Hi all! Just joining the thread since we are planning our next trip for August and it will be DS 16th birthday while we are there. I have to decide if I will order a cake or not (especially since he isn't much of a cake eater). But I want to follow everyone else while I am deciding.

I had originally called PD at the CR a month ago, and was given Jessi's email addy. Emailed her, and waited..waited..and waited some more but never heard back. I even verified her address, so I waited some more and figured I'd start calling around now if I hadn't heard back since our cake is for (early) December.

Well, I received a call from Marie on Thursday asking if I had emailed because she was missing a lot of information on my form. I told her yes I had, and even read the address back to her. Apparently, they had a lot of technical difficulties when they were switching email addresses around that time, so mine was lost.

She gave me the new email address, and I emailed that same day. I heard back from Brian, and we're going with a Mickey's Christmas Carol theme. The picture that he comes up with will be on a standing piece of white chocolate. Everything is still in the works, but I wanted to brag about how great all of these CMs have been!!!

I'm waiting to hear back from him to finalize everything. I've asked what other decor ideas he has for around the stand-up, and cake types. I'm super excited about this!! :yay::yay:

Can anyone tell me what the new email address is please? Going next month , celebrating 20th anniversary, and just stumbled upon this thread....what a great thread by the way!!!

Would like to either call or email...trying to read and learn here...thanks :surfweb:

I've looked through the most recent gallery of pictures and have a couple of questions.

Has anyone done a cake with multiple characters? We are celebrating 4 birthdays and I'd prefer the top decorated and not filled up with names :)

Ideally with a different character for each person and the names noted on the side or something?

I prefer figures to the white chocolate cut outs and do not care for image transfers at all. I realize I will probably have to go 10" and that is ok, it is for a grand gathering.

Lastly, I didn't see any cakes that showed Lightning or Wall-E, if anyone can direct me to any cakes where these guys were used, that would be fabulous!

I would be looking to have this at The Wave. Or Ohana but most likely The Wave. Kouzzina could be an option as well.

I've got quite the mix of characters I'd like to use so trying to figure out how best to do it. I do love the look of the mad hatter cakes but am not sure it really works with 4 different characters.

thanks

I ordered a WALL-E cake for my son's 6th b'day on Oct 17 at Chef Mickey's. I asked if the image could be a white chocolate cutout, but they told me that Wall-E was only an edible image. The lady ran down a list of characters that could be on white chocolate and though it was long, Wall-E (or Lightning, I'm pretty sure) was not on it.

Hope that helps, I'll post after we get back.

Our birthday celebration is at Ohana. Which bakery will look after this order and where should I contact?

Thanks

Most important question - we love buttercream icing - the totally sickening sweet kind - the sweeter the better! So, will I find that at Disney? Any bakery over another with great buttercream icing?

There's only 6 of us - dont' want to have tons of extra to lug around at a park later, but a little extra is fine - and we are big cake eaters so who knows, perhaps won't have much extra. What size would we want for a custom cake?

Our two options restaurant-wise would be getting a cake for our 1900 Park Fare dinner - or Garden Grill - can we get a custom cake for there?
Anyone know if they do a Cinderella/Prince Charming cake at 1900 Park Fare?

Can you get customised cakes delivered to WCC?

Or

Can you pick up a customised cake in the Boardwalk bakery?

You can do either. You can call the Cake Hotline or Wilderness Lodge private dining to order a cake, or you can order a cake to be picked up at the Boardwalk Bakery.

How do I order a birthday cake, not the little cupcakes, for one of the restaurants?

It depends on the restaurant. If it's a resort restaurant then you can call the Cake Hotline or the resort's private dining. If it's the Magic Kingdom some people have been getting cakes from the Contemporary. I think if it's Epcot you might just have settle for a podium cake or maybe bring one in from the Boardwalk Bakery.

Well the lady I talked to said you can only do 10in customized cakes. She wasn't very helpful or friendly though so maybe I'll call back and hope I get someone else. I called the boardwalk bakery because I will just be ordering it in advance and then picking it up to take back to Pop and I was under the impression that no other place will let you just pick it up and leave. I'm not going to be able to go into the Magic Kingdom so I can't call there.

:goodvibes

This is a cake that we got a few years ago. I want to say it was October of 2006. It was an 8" or 10" marble cake with buttercream frosting and filling. Incredibly tasty and moist. We had four adults and two children in the party and we were able to eat on that cake for a week.
