**official Boma Thread**

Looking forward to what might be posted here...we have a ressie for BOMA for December. Here's hoping to lots of interesting fun facts and posts!! :goodvibes

Boma is wonderful! My favorites were the coucous marakesh, lentil & sausage stew, and the mango tarts (I think they were mango).

We always go to Boma at least once a trip for breakfast. DH loves the Pressed Pot Kenyan coffee. I like the West African Frunch, which is a juice. Lots of great breakfast items-some with the African influence.

The Frunch is fantastic and I'm not normally a juice fan at all! Like really, really good.

The zebra domes are also really yummy.

I hated the watermelon rind salad. But maybe that's just me.

I had a really incredible soup when i was there. Can't remember what it was exactly, maybe seafood of some sort.

For this next trip, I've made a 5 pm ressie so I can make it my only mean for the day and just have a snack before hand. LOVE Boma!

We are big Boma breakfast fans....love it there! Cannot wait to try dinner next month.

I emailed our conceirge a few weeks ago to see what the Boma dinner menu is...this is what they emailed back...hope this helps everyone out

Dumela! Nicki,

Boma does not have a printed menu but I can tell you that 6 of the 7
stations have the same items every day with a few daily features added
and then the 7th station has daily features. There is no particular day
I can tell you that the special features will be available but I can
tell you that there is never a day where there is not a great selection
of fantastic food.

Here is a rundown of the stations. This is not their physical order down
the line nor the order they are eaten in. It is a Market Place
arrangement so guests are encouraged to browse around.

Station 2:

Ok here is his reply about the soups

Dumela! Nicki,

I called the kitchen and talked to one of our culinary team. He said
that there are 15 soups rotated over 3 days so that means the same soup
would be offered twice a week. However this far out it would be hard to
know when a particular soup would be offered since they change by 1 day
each week. They are all great though.

The soups at Boma are wonderful but so filling. When I am in the mood for soup, I ask at Mara if they can get me a bowl from Boma. They always say yes. It only costs about $2.50 per bowl.

Favorites:
Carrot Ginger
Butternut Squash
Chicken Pepperpot
Seafood Curry

I ask the desk person at Boma if I can see what is on the buffet so I know what to ask for at Mara. The counter people at Mara don't know what is served in Boma, so it is helpful to check to see what they have first.

We ate here 2 weeks ago have been here in years. Everybody had a great time. :thumbsup2

We´re having dinner at Boma for the first time in November to celebrate DH´s birthday. Does anyone know what kind of cake I can order for him?

Also, does anyone know if you can order tuxedo strawberries at Boma?

Love Boma Love Boma Love Boma Love Boma
It is one of our favorite places. Love the food , atmosphere and service. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.

Boma breakfast buffet. And the frunch. Two glasses of it. And the pressed pot of coffee.

We will be trying the Boma Breakfast for the first this Jan. I can't wait! I see many great reviews, and wanted to give it a try.

We love BOMA - in fact yesterday I asked my son if you could eat anywhere in the world, where would you eat for your birthday? He immediately replied BOMA! He doesnt know we have a surprise trip (due to the great pin code out last week) and I already ADR for BOMA. I cant wait!! My kids are adventerous eaters and really enjoy the variety and buffet. Make sure to leave time to explore the animal trails out back, the guides are knowledgable and tell the kids neat animal facts.

We're eating dinner at Boma in 10 days:yay: for the first time and really looking forward to it. My DH and DSIL raved about it, specifically the soups and salads. They said it was not to be missed and she is a very picky eater.
