Ordered our cake earlier this week for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Our dinner will be at 1900 PF. Marble cake with custard and raspberries. Buttercream with ivory fondant on top. Stamped golden Mickeys all over the cake with the Minnie and Mickey white chocolate bride & groom. Total cost $95.

I'll post a report when we return.

Thanks everyone for your help. I could not have done this without you.

Lisa

WOW! What size is your cake? I had almost this same cake in a 6" in October for $40. Ours was white cake with chocolate mousse and strawberries, with buttercream & ivory fondant. We had silver Mickey head stamps with white chocolate Mickey & Minnie and gum paste flowers. It was beautiful! Maybe they gave me a lesser price on the cake since we had a private dinner to celebrate our anniversary. A 6" cake was still A LOT of cake! We ate some at our dinner, then our kids ate some when we got back to the resort. We all ate some the next night. And we still threw some away when we left the next day!

I ordered a 10" cake since there will be nine of us dining. Linda was so easy to work with, it just took a while for us to touch base with each other. I didn't ask her to itemize it, but I know the cake alone is $40, plus $35 for the mickey/minnie, I'm assuming the other $20 is for the fondant frosting. I asked for something special since it is there 50th. So hopefully we'll be wowed by the cake. I know that my mother will love it no matter what since it was baked at the GF bakery. She's watched the Food Network special so many times, that I know she will be thrilled.

We are leaving in the morning earlier, and getting aboard the Auto Train in Lorton VA tomorrow afternoon. We're having the cake Sunday night, so if I can get the wireless to work in our rental, I'll try to post on Sunday night.

Thanks again y'all!

It is a very lovely cake and our was DELICIOUS!! We even ate the fondant, and I usually don't care for the taste of fondant. The buttercream frosting on the outside seemed 1/2" thick - it was sooo YUMMY! I worked with Linda on our dinner also & she is wonderful. Every detail of our dinner was perfect!

Enjoy your special celebration with your parents.

Has anybody done a cake with Pinochio? He is my moms favorite character, and for her birthday I am planning on the Illuminations cruise with the cake on the boat. Any advice on this?? Thanks!!

Are the individual castle cakes @ GF a 48 hr or a "specialty" 2 weeks order?
We leave in 16 dyas :cool1: and we are staying concierge @ CR, I was just going to have them call over.

It's my twins' princess: princess: 4 th birthday dinner, doing BBB that afternoon, kind of stinks that the reviews of 1900 PF are so bad, too late to change the plans now !

So, Disney, if you are reading please, please, get this restaurant back up to standards !!!!!:confused3 soon!

I ordered the mini wedding (castle) cake right before I left for Disney so probably about 48 hours before my meal. They are made in bulk so they are not considered a 'specialty cake'.

This is the cake we ordered for my son's 8th bday back in July. I ordered through the cake hotline and we had our celebration at Ohana. The cake was vanilla with a chocolate filling. When I ordered, I told them that I wanted a white chocolate Donald on top. They said that the Donald would be an extra $40. No problem. However, when our bill came, they only charged us for the cake :thumbsup2 . I think it was only $25, but don't quote me on that.

Wow!!!! I got that exact Donald statue when we were at WDW for Christmas in the GF Gingerbread house back in 2005 and it was only $18.

Amazing cake though and lucky you for not getting charged that extra $40!!!!:wizard:

I want to order a custom cake for my DD's bday trip. We are having dinner at Chef Mickey's but can the cake be delivered to the room instead? Just want to know my options. We are not staying deluxe as it's a 3 night Bday trip. Not sure if they deliver to values or moderate resorts. What do you suggest. Thanks.

I just want to clarify what I read on page 1. Do I need to pre-order a 6" cake or just tell them we want one when we check in? We'll be having dinner at the Crystal Palace the evening of my son's 5th birthday. I don't want to lug around a big ol' cake so I figure this size will work for us. Thanks!

I ordered a POTC cake yesterday to be delivered in our room at CBR. The young chef I talked to was super!! Very helpful. He said the cakes are made at the boardwalk bakery so he called them to get POTC ideas and then called me back in about an hour. I couldn't decide on the fillings and told them to frost it with whatever worked best with the design. I look forward to seeing what they come up with! Cost was $50 for a 10 inch cake. I wanted an 8 inch but was told the POTC theme we picked needed to be on a 10". I see some cake for breakfast during our stay:rotfl:

Tricia,
What was the POTC theme you went with? Was the $50 with the decorations or just the cake?

Thanks.....has anyone seen a Stitch cake....I have been through this whole thread and don't remember seeing Stitch.

Thanks.

The price was $50 total. It will have a treasure chest, pirate figures etc. (Plastic I think, but that will be good to have for a souvie) I bought really small POTC charcter playset from walmart including Davie Jones and other of the scary sea creatures that I am putting on his cake at home. I may sneak those on as well if possible. I wish I had written down the chef's name I couldn't quite understand what he said. He was awesome to talk to.

I also had the choice of 4 fillings and 3 icings. I haven't seen stich cake I've been looking for POTC cakes too, this thread is huge!

Cake Question Help.

My sons birthday is the 25 Nov and we have a reservation for Chef Mickeys in the evening.

How do i go about ordering a cake? Do i call Chef Mickeys? Do i pay them at chef mickeys or before hand? How much notice should i give. What type of cakes do they do and what size and how much.

Donna

Check out page one for the cake hotline number. Listen to the prompts and you will be all set. I would order now. I just ordered for my DS's birthday Dec 1st yesterday. When I called earlier they told me call back 2-3 weeks before to place the order. They needed a credit card to place the order but said it wouldn't be charged until delivery. Have fun.
