That's the first I've heard of this. As far as I know you can only get it at the GF.

I know that you can get the white chocolate Cinderella slipper dessert at both locations though.

Thanks - I might have confused the two in my mind! It's been a long week.

Well, I finally got a reply from Linda about the Goofy hat cake for my DH. Unfortunately, they cannot make it for him. So I am back to the drawing board. :confused3 Any ideas? Any advice for something different and unusual would be welcome. His birthday is actually on the 20th, and I considered having a cake at CRT, but our ressie is for 4:15 and I will not want to carry leftover cake around the rest of the day. :rotfl: We will be dining at the following restaurants during our stay at POFQ:

10-19 Lunch--Hollywood & Vine
Dinner--Sci-Fi

10-20 Lunch--Tony's Town Square
Dinner--CRT

10-21 Lunch--Coral Reef
Dinner--Garden Grill

10-22 Lunch--50's Prime Time Cafe
Dinner--Spirit of Aloha

10-23 Breakfast--Chef Mickey's
Lunch--Crystal Palace
Dinner--1900Park Fare

10-24 Lunch--Le Cellier
Dinner--Hoop Dee Doo

10-25 Breakfast--1900 Park Fare
Lunch--CRT
Dinner--Mickey's Backyard Barbque

Any advice on which place would be able to do an unusual and tasty cake?

Thank you in advance.

Now this is a delima! I know when we ordered our cake at Crystal Palace one year, and at CRT another year, both CM Servers said we could store the cake in their fridge until we finished touring -

Somebody posted this a few pages back. You could order the cake for CRT, and just have them hold what you don't eat until the end of the night.

Thank you princessbride for the reply. The problem is, I know that I read somewhere in this thread that they would not store it in their fridge because of health issues.....Also, we have EMH that night until 11:00 p.m. I had also thought to have one delivered to our room at POFQ, but am uncertain if it can be. I was also hoping to get a really good tasting cake....:lovestruc
Do you know where the best option would be?
Thanks again,
Rama

GF bakery, by far, does the best cakes, IMHO.

I would order a cake for your dinner at 1900 Park fare.

We just left our leftover cake at CRT because we were going to be there for several hours. We knew going in that any left over cake would go to waste.

Help!!!
Hi Everyone,
I need your suggestions/ideas on my upcoming trip.

We will be dining at Yak & Yeti on 9/26 for dinner. That date is my friends actual b-day. She has planned and put together this entire trip for 3 families. Earlier this summer her husband died unexpectedly and she has really had a very tough summer.:sad1: We (my family) really wanted to do something special for her, especially n her b-day. ;) I called Y&Y and they do not decorate the table or anything:confused3. I thought about taking some party hats or something festive by the rest and leaving it for our ADR.

Do you all know of any cake options or have any ideas for this rest.? I wasn't sure if AKL had a bakery that may deliver there. Y & Y told me they have the typical white or chocolate cakes available but I was really wanting something a little more special.
BTW, her favorite character is Eeyore.

And just to complicate matters...money is an issue, I cannot spend a ton of money on a cake.

Any and all ideas will be greatly appreciated!:goodvibes
Thanks in advance,
Darlene

I´m sorry I can´t really help since I´ve never ordered a cake myself, but from what I´ve read on this thread it seems to be you can´t order cakes with Pooh characters anywhere. Not even at the Crystal Palace.

Can they do a Goofy theme, not really in the shape of his hat? That might be an option too...Or do you have a cake shop in your town or can you order something from the internet?? You could have them make a green cake and buy a Goofy topper or plastic toy (they had some small Goofy characters at the dollar store last weekend) that you could put on yourself or maybe leave with the hostess and ask for it to be put on the cake??

As for the cake for a friend, if the restraunt won't do anything, decorate the room, get with Betsy (memoriesbybetsy.com) or Peg (peggyssweetsandmore.com -I think) to get a small gift basket in the room. Call the Boardwalk Bakery if you're able to pick up the cake yourself to pick up and put in their room. Also, try and call the resort and see if they can do anything as well. If you want to do a "surprise", leave something at the front desk for your friend to either have delivered to your room or have her pick up from the front desk. If you're trying to stay on a budget, maybe some cookies or cupcakes instead of an all out cake??

Good luck and happy planning!!

Thank you for the suggestions. :goodvibes I found a really cool Pirates of the Carribean cake that I may try to order for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. It would be really neat. I just hope they will make one similar to it. It was the Pirates cake with the cute treasure chest on top. Everything was edible except the pearls. I can't remember what page I saw it on though....
Thanks again,
Rama

This was the cake I ordered for my DD B-day at 1900 Park Fare on August 7th it was really good and my DD loved it

We also surprised her with a dessert during our dinner at CR. I originally ordered a white chocolate one but we got the other one still it was delicious......

Does anyone have an email address for me to contact the cake-line as I'm in the UK and don't want to spend a fortune on international calls if I can achieve the same by email ;)

The email address given on page 1 just bounces back :(

Many thanks!

Thanks IV004. Those are beautiful! :lovestruc My daughter and niece are going with us on our trip and I was thinking of ordering something special for them as well as my hubby. I am afraid the girls might feel left out if I do something for DH and not do something for them. I may do the slipper dessert for them and a small at the podium cake at CRT on hubby's birthday. ;) Then, later in the week, order a birthday cake for 1900 Park Fare for DH. I have heard the cakes are much better at the GF, and since it would be after his actual birthday, maybe he would be surprised. :flower3:
Thanks,
Rama

Has anyone ever had a cake sent to a room at Port Orleans French Quarter? If so, how was it? Also, when I called the cake hotline and followed the prompts, it only gave me Boatwrights Restaurant at Riverside as a choice. :confused3 How do I contact someone about delivery at French Quarter? Any information would be greatly appreciated! :flower3:
Thanks,
Rama

Well the vacation is coming soon :cool1:

I ordered the castle cake to be delivered our first day there but then was reading it really is very small mainly for one person. Has this been the case that people have found?

I saw pictures of them and they really looked like it would be for two but then like I said inthe reading it stated for an individual.

For those who have had it, would you say it is ok for two people? I look to those who have had it and are far more exprienced than me lol

We had an ADR for Y&Y during our birthday trip. It was noted on the ressie and I mentioned it when we checked in. We weren't expecting any freebees, but not so much as a happy birthday from our server and DD and I were both wearing our B-day buttons no less. Didn't seem like a place to celebrate. But maybe others can tell you different. That being said, the atmosphere and the food was fantastic.:thumbsup2

We had ours after a very filling breafast at the GF Cafe. It is quite small, maybe 3 inches across, but the 3 of us each had a very tasty bite. :thumbsup2

I called the Poly about getting a cake delivered to our room. They charge $45 for a 10" plus $30 if you want an image put on it (plus tax and tip). I tried the MK Bakery for a cake at CRT. They're closed until Monday. Has anyone ordered a cake with a character on it since the price increase? DD wants either choc/choc or marble/choc with Hannah Montana on it. At this point I'm going for the cheaper of the two as I broke the budget by adding a few nights at the Poly as a surprise for dh and our anniversary.

When I called about the mini castle cake for our upcoming trip, Linda said the castle on top is only 2"x2" and she accented the individual part each time she repeated the order.

I know that I was just going to get a bigger castle cake (for all of us to share) the 8" cake was $35 and the castle for the top was an additional $15 if that helps at all.

I'm still debating about the individual cakes for our group or one large one...:confused3 I guess it doesn't much matter either way since it's going to come out close to the same cost-wise. I'll probably just leave it the way it is as it's easier at this point.
