Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread Part II

Does anyone know if you can order it to be picked up at the POR? We are staying at POR Riverside in December and my son will be turning 4 while we are there and I was thinking the Mickey Head cake would be cute, but I would prefer to pick up at the resort food court so we could have it in our room since we will be on the dining plan. Any luck so far with POR?

I do not know. You will just have to call POR and ask them personally. I know you can get this cake at the Contemporary, the GF and the Boardwalk. I have heard someone was able to pick it up at POP but no confirmation on that.

Thanks for the memories Jenjersnao- I remember all the linda fun. She is nearly impossible to work with. Mercurial at best. They CAN and WILL do an 8 inch cake- IF linda feels like asking them to do it. I asked for an 8 inch b-day cake...she said 8 inch is only the anniversary cake- I said fine can I have an 8 inch with chocolate cake- pb mousse and foundant? She said I'm sure they can do it, how do you want the inscription to read. I replied HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY...she checked with the chef- called me back and it was fine....but yeah I got the same bs from her in the beginning too. She is my one truly negative experience from Disney. I wish if they were going to advertise this Magical Celebrations thing they would employ someone in this role who could feel the cake magic!

I had a wonderful experience working with Linda to organise the cake for DBF at 1900 PF....we emailed back and forth many times and she was great. I did however, know exactly what I wanted and emailed a picture to assist.

Princess Melanie - We were at 1900 Park Fare on the 16th and were admiring the cake when they brought it out. It was gorgeous. Did you call PD for it or the cake hotline?

I worked directly with Linda at the GF for it - we had resevations at 1900 PF she arranged everything for me!! Nice to hear from someone else who was there - it was such an amazing moment I was trying not to cry when Aaron saw it and then all that fuss was made of him!! Thank you!

I have a question. We are going to order a cake and plan to take home the left overs. We are going on a 3 night trip at the Contemporary. Can I order it the first night of the trip and will it keep in the fridge or should I change ressie's and order it for the last day?

I would like to surprise DH with a cake during our upcoming trip. I have a couple of dinner options, and could really use some advice. We will also be dining with our 4 and 5 year old kids.

Should I do it when we have dinner at Chef Mickeys or Narcoosees? Also, I have been looking for photos of cakes that have been delivered at these places and cannot find any. So, any photos would be much apprciated!

After reading what feels like a zillion pages, I am still confused . We are going to Whispering Canyon for my son's surprise 9th birthday, do I call the cake number that is listed or do I call Whispering Canyon directly? Or do I call the Boardwalk? aaaahhhhh! How do I know what the cake will look like? I have seen many pictures here, but I know he would want Star Wars theme but these threads imply that I can only get certain cakes at certain resorts...Am I misreading this information??? Help! His birthday is Feb. 12 so I am pretty sure I have to wait one more week in order to be within the 2 week timeframe, right? Thanks for your help!!!

I am looking to do a Whipped cream frosting and strawberry mousse cake. Where should I order it from? Is this something Boardwalk will do and I can pick it up? I really like the idea of the mickey head, but what does it look like inside?

Oh I would love to see a pic of the treasure chest. I'm ordering a cake for DD's 13th birthday for our first dinner at CP. I'm a little worried DS (5) might feel a little left out with her getting a lot of attention because of her birthday. This would be a nice little surprise for him one night when we have dinner. Can these be ordered at any of the TS resturants? Might be a good one to do the night we eat at CR.

I want to order a cake for DD's birthday at Crystal Palace. Can I order a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting with a few strawberries on it? I've seen a few pics of this type of cake and it looks yummy. I wondered if this could be done in an 8" and how much this type cake generally runs.

Also how soon should I call and order it? We are going May 22nd. TIA.
