Official Avengers Half Marathon Weekend 2015 Thread

Taking the Super Heroes theme for the 5K, I realized that Big Hero 6 is Marvel-based and therefore applicable to the race. So I ordered this shirt to wear, as I'll be like Baymax :)

I'm currently pacing at a 15.5 minute mile. With training until race day, I'd like to get that time down to about 13.5 minutes per mile.

I purchased my 5K race top from them too! White Baymax face with "I am not fast" on the back. :thumbsup2

We're hoping to get a more serious start on putting our costume ideas in motion this weekend, but in the mean time we're booking our breakfast reservations each day on the rolling 60-day window! We like character dining and feel like we get the most value from the breakfast buffets, so it'll be nice trying out Storyteller's Cafe following the 10k and revisiting Goofy's Kitchen right after the finish line of the half marathon.

Read on another forum that Team Muscle Makers has Infinity Gauntlet Challenge spots left (non-fundraising or fundraising options). Email info@tmm4ucmd.com for info.

Does anyone who did Avengers last year remember if they sold sweaty bands with the official merch? As far as I know, there has been a race specific sweaty band and bondiband at every race weekend, but just wanted to check!

They just had them last week at the Disneyland Half expo, so I would assume they'll be there. :)

This blog post about Avengers merch from last year mentions sweaty bands and bondi bands. So I would assume they would be there. I didn't run Avengers last year but all the other DL races have had race-themed head bands in the official merch.

They definitely had race sweaty bands. I have one.

Never use it, because living in Australia as I do I never run without a hat, but I kinda wanted to try one and it seemed like a good one and only band to own.

Thanks everybody! If they didn't sell them, I would have bought some of the cute knock-offs I've seen on Etsy.

Can't believe how quickly time is flying. We were able to make all of our dining reservations this week! Also it looks like the Pasta in the Park Party has sold a bit more... Now its up to 84% Full.

After looking at all our pictures from the Disneyland 10K I'm really excited to get more pics in the park during this race since the Christmas Decorations will be up!

When the 60th began Disney stressed that the 60th Celebration would go all year, even during holiday times... But with the amount of Halloween decorations they have up this year it looks like they will still have plenty of Christmas stuff up. The Castle might not get the snow overly, and the garland across main street won't happen because some of the Paint the Night floats are too high. But for the most part all the Christmas stuff will be back.

Also rumor has it this weekend might be the first weekend that the new Star Wars Launch Bay opens in the old Innoventions area opens. The other fun part about that is this will likely be when the refreshed Marvel meet and greet areas open on the 2nd floor of the old Innoventions building. So plenty of things to get excited about... as if the race weekend wasn't enough.

I'm looking at mine from last year right here. Those do look similar. White background instead of black. What is the green symbol on that one? It's not the Hulk radiation symbol from the last one...

They are most likely nylon, like the black ones, so they clean up very well. I'm disappointed as this seems a bit lazy on their part. Oh well. I do have plenty of things I've bought lately. HA.

Looks like Hulk's fist.

I hate the Dooney (which is a shame because I was considering having my friend pick one up) there is no Iron Man, The SHIELD logo is the old one which is odd, I don't think I can recall that Hawkeye logo being used regularly if at all, and worst of all the bag is white.
