****Official August 2015 Check-In Thread****

Last year in the August forum, we did a Question of the Week, so I thought I would start that off in this group. I like limace's question (and since I can't think of one of my own). So, let's have that as our first

What meals do you have planned for your upcoming trip?

I'm doing the Plaza inn and PCH grill breakfasts. Also must do plaza inn for lunch at some point.

I forgot about the qotw from last year!

I'm still not sure about planned meals, it all depends if I finally make the choice to upgrade to onsite or not. If we do not upgrade then we are planning on CC WoC dinner. If we do upgrade then we are skipping CC and DH and I are doing the chef's counter at NR while DS goes to Pinocchio's Workshop.

Other than that one big dinner, we always go to Plaza Inn for fried chicken. Since this is our 3rd trip in 12 months and our 8th since 2010, we have pretty much eaten everywhere we wanted to.

Pizza port for lunch on our first day (our tradition).

At some point we will eat at Rainforest Cafe because we have a gift card and a reward from the Landrys card.

Nothing else planned this trip.

We have first night- Goofy's Kitchen. We have a food allergy child so we have lots of TS restaurants. (we may drop something depending on how QS options are for him). We also have booked- Storytellers (breakfast and dinner), Plaza Inn (breakfast), Carthay Circle, PCH Grill (breakfast and Dinner), Cafe Orleans, and Carnation Cafe. We will definitely dine at Flo's as well. We may eat at River Belle Terrace, the mexican restaurants in either park or Tomorrowland Terrace. (oh and Whitewater Snack's, and Tangorea Terrace)I want of check out earl of sandwich too.

With the allergies it really depends on what we can find. We are staying 6 nights.

We always get the chicken fusilli at Pizza Port-can Feed a bunch. I've never had a corn dog wagon dog, so that's definitely on my list. And lots of Kozy Kone snacks. I'm bummed to hear the Flo's menu has changed for the worst since our last visit three years-having dinner and a glass of wine on the patio there was one of my favorite memories.

There's one for Ridemakers, La Brea Bakery and Rainforest Cafe, along with several shuttles.

I haven't tried La Brea before, but from looking at the menu, it looks like a good one for us to try. DD is highly sensitive to artificial food dyes and other chemical additives (we basically treat it as an allergy.) Since this is our 5th trip to DLR, we've figured out most of the things that she can and can't eat, but I'm wishing we had tried La Brea in the past, since it looks like they use all natural ingredients. They even have white cheese in their grilled cheese sandwich, which she'll be really excited about since she can't usually eat grilled cheese in restaurants because orange cheese often contains dyes.

Oh yes. The corn dog is a must!

I don't have any ADRs yet but will likely make one for Cafe Orleans since the Monte Cristo is now a must eat for me after finally trying it on our last trip. There will also be a couple stops at the red wagon for corn dogs, Ralph Brennan's for beignets, and Plaza Inn for fried chicken. In all my trips I've never trip the baked potato at Harbor Galley so that's on the list along with Lobster Nachos at Cove Bar. I also want to eat at Paradise Garden Grill, I don't even know how I've missed this place but it sounds delicious. I've been reading reviews on the new dinner buffet at PPH so we might go over there to try that on arrival day since we get in around 3 and aren't going to the parks that day.

We have reservations for:
Carnation Cafe - lunch
Ariel's Grotto - lunch
Blue Bayou Fantasmic dinner package
Plaza Inn Character breakfast
Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue

We are a party of 14. I've never eaten at Carnation Cafe, Ariel's Grotto and Plaza Inn so I am really looking forward to those. Can't wait 25 days until I'm finally there!

We have reservations at Carnation Cafe in an attempt to get a decent spot for the fireworks and second showing of the parade. And then we have lunch reservations for Storytellers Cafe and dinner reservations for Cafe Orleans.

Not only a La Brea coupon, but also $5 off the Disneyland Express from SNA ($10 off from LAX), which is better than the $3 discount from Undercovertourist.com

Thanks!

What meals do you have planned for your upcoming trip?

We have three meals planned:
  • Day 1 we have a late breakfast at Carnation Café because I've always wanted to eat there and never have.
  • Day 2 we have BB Fantasmic dinner with the whole family for FIL's birthday celebration
  • Day 3 lunch at Ariel's Grotto for all our princesses
Other than that, we'll just do quick service. Oldest DD has it on her list to find a hot dog covered in mac & cheese. :rolleyes2

What meals do you have planned for your upcoming trip?

Let's see, we don't do many advanced reservations but this year we are planning on the following:
Sunday (arrival day) Chef's Counter dinner at the Napa Rose
Wednesday, Character Breakfast at Ariel's Grotto
Thursday, Fantasmic dinner package at Blue Bayou

there are of course some things we just can't miss like the chicken at the Plaza Inn, Fried Green Tomato Sandwich at Hungry Bear and the French Toast at Flo's. but those will be more of a spur of the moment, we're right here let's eat type of situations and not planned out so much.

Will be there with my wife and 5 year old son August 12 - 15 staying at DLR. First time visiting DL (my wife and I grew up on the east coast visiting WDW).

We have the following meals booked:
August 12 - Dinner - Blue Bayou (Fantasmic)
August 13 - Dinner - Goofy's Kitchen
August 14 - Dinner - Wine Trattoria (WOC)
August 15 - Breakfast - PCH Grill

Since this is our first trip and we will be in the parks for 6 days we are going for it when it comes to ADRs……

Steakhouse 55
Carthay Circle
Storytellers Breakfast
Ariel's Grotto Lunch
Plaza Inn Breakfast
Napa Rose
Wine Country Trattoria (WOC)
Blue Bayou (Fantasmic! Package)
Big Thunder BBQ

My vacation starts tonight! 4 days of camping then a day to recover and pack and we head out early Tuesday morning!!!! So excited! Picked up a stack of gift cards at Target yesterday and dug up old pins and lanyards for trading. Now I really need to start playing with Ridemax. With 5 days, I know we don't need to plan too much but I like to have our first day figured out to reduce the standing around and arguing.

This is my daughter's 16 birthday trip, so we are going a little over the top.

August 12th- BB F! Pkg
August 13th- BTM BBQ
August 14th-WOC Carthay Circle
August 15-D23 Expo
August 16-Cafè Orleans and Carnation Cafe
August 17- Plaza Inn (may be switching to Steakhouse 55)
