Wow, good to hear about BB pkg popularity. I was going to leave it for later in our trip, but I think I will make it for one of our first days, just in case it takes a couple of tries.

My 20yo daughter and I will be staying at the Camelot Inn Aug 2-6. I am a teacher in Alabama and have return to work on Aug 7. I wish we could have gone later for the D23 convention, but she has to return to college and I have to work. We are WDW APs and make several trips there each year. My daughter has only been to DL once, two years ago, for her high school graduation trip. I was with her then and we had a blast! We stayed at PPH, had a dining plan, photopass, three character meals and did the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. which included going into his apartment! We are HUGE Disney fans and can't wait to see all of the 60th anniversary decorations and new nighttime shows. We have already booked Fantasmic dining at RBT on 8/2, a character lunch at Ariel's Grotto for 8/3 (we didn't do that one last time), and Minnie and Friends for 8/4. We did Minnie and Friends last time and saw 13 different characters at that one meal! By far our most magical character meal ever! We are so super excited to return to "Walt's park"!

Just booked BB fantasmic package for the 6th-our first full day-and Minnie and Friends for our last! Makes it all seem real . I haven't been a fan of BB typically, but I've heard their food has improved and the reserved seating for the shows feels worth it to me. Starting to feel real!

All reservations made! Touring plans is showing 6 and 7 as crowd levels for my week, so not too bad. I know not to put much stock in that but at least I am hopeful it won't be a complete madhouse

Now I need park hours and a touring plan. It's getting closer!!!

We'll be there the first week of August. We are moving our oldest daughter out there and then spending the week. We'll be celebrating DS's 14th bday!

Saturday 8-15: Arrival, dinner at DTD
Sunday: all QS
Monday: Carthay Circle WOC package for lunch
Tuesday: all QS
Wednesday: Plaza Inn B'fast, Blue Bayou Fantasmic package (lunch or early dinner?)
Thursday: Surf's Up B'fast, Napa Rose for dinner
Friday: Storytellers B'fast then leave

We have a four year old (and us grown up kids) so we like the character breakfasts. Plus, being from Florida, having an early ADR will not be a problem for us with the time change and we tend to get up early anyway.

Those sounds like wonderful choices! Is your little one a boy or girl? If it is a little girl, I might trade out Surf's Up for Ariel's but other that that, your plan looks fun! I might also trade Surf's up for Goofy's Kitchen but really, you can't go that wrong with any of the character meals. Napa Rose is amazing and definitely don't miss going to Plaza Inn at lunch or dinner, the fried chicken there is YUM!

With a little one and you being from the East coast, I would get a reservation at BB for dinner as early as possible. I think they do the switch over at 4:30 and I don't think you can do the F! meal for lunch, only dinner. I would also get there 15-20 minutes early and let them know you want to wait for a water side table. If this might be a once in a lifetime trip, it is worth the extra wait to sit waterside.

If you want to do something similar with your WOC lunch at CC and switch it to a very early dinner, you can ask to go outside on the upstairs balcony and watch the Pixar parade go by. We usually make 5:00 dinner reservations and if I remember correctly, we usually go out either right before or right after the appetizer course. Unlike F!, you can do the WOC package at lunch but we prefer to have a lighter lunch and do the WOC meal for dinner.

No one can really predict crowd levels this year because of the 60th but we've been in DL mid to end August three times so far and have always found the crowds to be lower than other times. The Friday might get busier around mid-afternoon so I would recommend getting your "must do" rides done Thursday or even Friday morning.

So on the day we move from HOJO to VGC we're renting a car to drive over to the beach for the afternoon, let the boy play and run around, catch a sunset, etc. We were thinking of going to Ruby's Diner, but we're planning on hitting an In N Out for lunch, and since they are both burger and shake joints, we're rethinking dinner plans. Where else near a beach (don't particularly care which one) has a good dining experience for a 4 yr old boy? Or we could stick with Ruby's and do something beside burgers if that is a safe option?

We're doing CC WOC lunch on the 17th as well. I'd stick with lunch instead of dinner because it's much cheaper ($20 more per adult for dinner, I think.) And at lunch you'll get a nice break from the heat.
