Oh man, I still have 13 weeks ;)
This is taking forever!!!

Super thankful for this 3 day weekend though....almost summer vacation! That's a countdown I can get behind right now :) :)

Hey....I'm from the Hudson Valley too!!! I am in Newburgh! We always fly JetBlue out of Stewart. To us, the extra cost is worth it for the convenience with 2 little kids! I am also obsessive and stalk the site and usually book pretty soon after flights are released so i usually get a decent deal! Also, if prices go down, they will give you a credit which I always use towards the next trip! LOL!

Hello from Wappingers Falls :wave2: Funny, lately I've come across a couple Dis'ers from Putnam and Westchester Counties, but you're the closest :)

I totally agree with you about the convenience of Stewart; however, DH is more of a stickler for a good deal lol. I don't mind Westchester so much especially now that the boys are older (8 & 12). However, in 2012 we flew from JFK, $202 rt. on Thanksgiving. Had brunch with family; then by the time we packed car, drove there, left car in off-site parking place (very cheap and good), checked in and finally arrived in Orlando, I felt like I'd been going non-stop for 24 hours! Just too long to get there. And yes, shortly after fares are released is definitely the best time to book. This trip was only decided on in April, or we may have had better luck with Stewart. But, there's always next time!;)

I have a nice little summer vacation countdown on my whiteboard that I am using to keep me from being too preoccupied with the dreaded Disney countdown lol

I FINALLY made my ADRs. Been such a procrastinator, I don't know why.
Since it's just DH and I, these trips are all about relaxing, taking time to see things I wouldn't normally see when with the kids, and also, because I'm a Travel Agent, trying out new rides/restaurants/resorts in order to better make recommendations to clients. SO, the plan is:

8/28 - arrive @ 2:30, head to MK probably around 5:00, dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern

8/29 - EPCOT late morning, wander the WS a bit, do a QS lunch there, back to resort for couple hours at the pool. Head to HS around 5:00ish, dinner at 50s Prime Time.

8/30 - MK for rope drop. Hopefully, FP for BoG for lunch. Stay 'til mid-afternoon, then head back to WL for the evening. Dinner at Whispering Canyon

8/31 - Breakfast at Kona Café, check out the Poly. Back to WL for a few hours, then head to EP for the evening. Dinner @ Teppan Edo

9/1 - home!

:cool1:

My DH and DS were just saying the same thing the other day.....they are so glad we slid in a little Great Wolf Lodge/Niagara Falls trip at the end of June. It makes waiting for Orlando a little easier when there's something fun in the middle to break up the time.

I think I need to take up yoga again!!!

I also have a couple summer trips to look forward to to keep me preoccupied. We're doing North Conway, NH first week in July and then Niagara Falls first week in August.

How funny DH grew up in Cold Spring. We go there to visit the in laws several times a year.

I just realized I am 30 days away from having to make fastpass plus! Has anyone done theirs yet? I love to plan but have to admit I am a little intimidated...

I really have to start thinking about this. This will be our fourth trip with FP+ and I don't love it. :crazy2:

This will be our 2nd trip with FP+ and I also don't love it. In fact, I think I'll only make a few FP's ahead of time and then (possibly) make more the night before or even day of. I'm fine with making ADR's months ahead of time, but just can't get on board with nailing down our ride times :sad2:

My in laws live in North Conway NH we love it up there so beautiful and so much to do!!

I'm 22 days away and having anxiety! It's less scary now that we can make extras after the first 3. But now I'm afraid I'll pick the wrong 3 first, ha! I'm all worried I had to be staying up til midnight and then that Disney's site won't work (cause THAT happens!) It will be interesting to see how people do with it now that the summer months are coming up!

coloredimage-it is a nice distraction! What do you teach??

Nice to know I'm not alone, I'm definitely a planner, but making dinner reservations 6 months in advance and FP two months in advance is way too much. DH says he's fine with whatever I choose and thinks he's being helpful, but it's a lot of pressure. I may not do all three either. Since there are 5 of us, I don't know if I should make two sets of passes. One for DS10 and another FP at the same time for DD5 and DS3. Too much pressure!!!!

Fun! What'cha doing, where are you staying in Niagara Falls? US side or Canadian side?

I love the Niagara region. :)

All those sound good! I've only never been to Whispering Canyon but it's on our list for upcoming trips

North Conway, we will do Storyland (our own personal little Disney World, lol), Alpine Slide, Polar Caves, etc.

NF, we're staying on the CA side. Its our first time there. We're going to an aquarium, a zoo and then just the Falls area.

:cool1:

QotD: Are you eating at any new restaurants this trip that you're excited for? How about your favorites that you can't wait to return to?

We are eating at BoG, Sanaa and HBD all for the first time, and I can't wait to try them all!

Although we have been to Disney many times, we will be eating at Crystal Palace for the first time in August. And we have an 8:00am reservation. My youngest DD2 loves Pooh so we decided to do it. We are also eating dinner at BOG for the first time as well. We have done the QS lunch and love the food.
