We too haven't been added to the Resort List

Aug 20th -24th AK Kidani
Aug 24th -29th BW

cheers Thanks

I forgot to add you on to the last post. I didn't forget to add you, I only update the ADR and park activities lists. I am sure mousemommy1 will update the lists soon.

So glad I found this thread! My family is headed down 8/16-8/25. First night at CR club level TPV. No tickets this day, just relaxing at the pool. We wanted to try a new resort this trip and my kids wanted to stay where the monorail goes through :)

Then we move over to the Beach Club CL for the rest of our vacation. This is our favorite resort, and this is our fourth trip back there:lovestruc We have park hoppers with water park tickets and the DXDP. I've been able to get all the dining reservations we want except BOG, but I'll keep trying!

I'll look up our dining reservations and post them in a separate reply.

Had to change the dates of our trip due to school starting a little bit earlier than we anticipated.

We will now be leaving August 3rd and arriving August 4th. Spending August 5th-10th in the parks with a break/beach day in there somewhere. We moved our Ft. Wilderness reservation for one night only on 8/5 and plan on still doing the Chip and Dale Campfire sing along and stuff that night. We also changed our ADR for 50's PrimeTime Cafe to 12:35p on 8/8/14.

The good news about changing everything? We are now under the 100 days mark :cool1:

We do a SPF 50-60 and apply when getting dressed in the am, reapply after our swim break in the afternoon. We used Ombrelle the last 2 years. It doesn't leave an oily feel.

The reason we go so high is one year we only had a 30 and dh and the kids burned to a crisp. Not taking the chances of that happening again as it ruined the vacation being in so much pain.

Ugh! Isn't that the worst? Half of my son's back burnt to a crisp last year the week before we went to Florida. I used some Neutragena spray mist sunblock, but I was multitasking as I was spraying him and I sprayed the same half of his back twice.

I like Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45. I do find that we don't worry about it too much on a park day. We typically have a good base tan and we aren't out in direct sun too long. We will be more aware when we do a pool or water park day.

Do you use something different on your face?

Yay! A QOTD!

Banana Boat for us as well :thumbsup2 . SPF 100. Sport, if we can get it (my boys get super sweaty in the Florida heat :crazy2: ... and the sport seems to have a little more staying power).

All three of us are all your stereotypical pasty while Canucks, and burn sooooo easily. We need the highest SPF we can find. Our Walmart and Giant Tiger stores usually carry a limited supply of the the SPF 100 on their initial summer stock, so we always snag it as soon as we see it......otherwise, POOF! Its gone.

I remember looking at the 100 last year, but I think the Banana Boat 60 was on sale so I bought that instead. I imagine the 100 is pretty thick. Or is it? :scratchin

Banana Boat -- Ultra Defense

Fragrance free (very moisturizing, contains Vitamin E & Aloe)

SPF 60

Once in the morning, mid day & after swimming

We use SPF 30 usually and buy what is on sale. I burn then tan so I am lucky there. I love sitting outside and soaking up the heat.

We like the bullfrog brand! :)

Our favorite is Banana Boat Sport. Cool zone! Gives a little cooling!

So all this talk about sunblock and guess what? I got a sunburn on my face this weekend. I was out for about an hour. Now I know many people wear an SPF 15 throughout the winter, but after the brutal winter/spring we've been having it just never occurred to me. Time to dig out some old sunblock and stock up on new sunblock for the summer! :beach:

officially joining.....

OP, I don't know if you're still here, but I recognize you from the April, 2013 group. :thumbsup2

I will be going back for my 2nd Annual Kid-free/Birthday trip, which I hope becomes an annual thing forever and ever. :) As much as i like going with the kids, those trips are huge undertakings where I plan everything down to the minute in order to maximize our fun per minute ratio. I spend at least a year planning those and then I need a year to recover before planning the next, lol. With just DH and I going, we can be more laid back, leisurely strolling around, enjoying our meals (sans characters), even missing rope drop (gasp) as we hang at the resort more. Last year we did the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK and this year I think we'll do the Behind the Magic Tour (all 4 parks). We'll spend more time in the World Showcase then we can with the kids (WS not conducive to attaining high fun/minute ratio for the kids), more time at the resort, more time people watching, less time waiting in line for rides and chasing characters. We will do a couple rides at each park but not a ton. We will most likely skip AK as we did last year. ANYWAYS, I think we'll do 8/28 - 9/1 at Wilderness Lodge. I'm going to book tomorrow. Will be our first time there as I'm on a mission to not repeat any resorts until I've stayed at them all. I need to
plan my park days ASAP so I can plan my ADRs. We also will only be doing new restaurants as I don't want to repeat any 'til I've been to them all.
So, I think that's about it. Yay!

We bought the spray (not the cream), so there was no issue with thickness. DS will use sunscreen twice as often if its the spray-on type, so we very rarely buy the cream any more.

120 days to go :woohoo: STILL waiting for DH to decide where we're staying..............I don't like this!! I always have just about every detail of the trip planned by now :rolleyes1 DS8 is still pushing for BWV and DS12 doesn't care if we're onsite or off as long as there's a pool with a decent slide. Getting more excited every day, but I need to know where we're going to be!!

108 days for me today!! Almost double digits!

Since there are so many teachers on here, I have to ask, even though it can apply to everyone...Do you feel as guilty as I do wishing away the summer?? Especially after this winter...

I can't wait for this trip. I feel like I've been waiting my whole life for it, but I don't want my summer to end either. Mixed feelings!! Next time maybe I'll brave the crowds and shoot for late June. :goodvibes
