I am so jealous of those at the dessert party. We're all strictly gluten-free and as much as I love dessert and fireworks, I can't justify the price when I doubt there'd be very much we could even eat. :(

But I really hope you enjoy it - I'll just enjoy the desserts vicariously through those of you who can enjoy it. :goodvibes

Hi we do gluten free and the desert party was great. When I made the reservations I explained about the gluten and they said no problem they would take care of it.
The night of the party I couldn't believe how much they did,. My husband and daughter each got there own platter of gluten-free deserts. It was amazing. You will have a good time and get plenty of deserts.:)

Im feeling like I'm in an abyss between adrs and fp choices! Now we play the waiting game...

This is how I feel about the next 120 days!!! :rotfl2: Back to planning and timing...I'll probably need all this time to coordinate everything..;)

I'm also counting down to SW flights....hoping for low fares so I can book them and be all set...

Congratulations!

With all the reservations and fast pass planning, I'm going to need a prescription for Xanax!

I have been busy tweaking all of my plans, including resort, ADR's, etc....I am a hot mess!!!! :rotfl2:

Also waiting for SW fares on Monday. Hoping to have a little left over from the $1190 in credits we have with them....we shall see....

Our ADR's now look like this:

8/17/14 - Via Napoli lunch 12:45 pm
8/18/14 - 'Ohana dinner 5:00 pm
8/19/14 - Sanaa Lunch 1:30 pm
8/20/14 - Jiko dinner at 7:30 pm
8/21/14 - Pizzafari breakfast (after the Sunrise Safari) at 7:00 am
8/23/14 - Boma dinner at 6:05 pm
8/24/14 - Be Our Guest dinner at 7:00 pm

Way more than I was intending, but once we decided on AKL as a final resort, I knew I had to eat at the restaurants there since we are hardly ever over that way normally. It will be nice to knock those off the list.

I was debating whether to share this amusing story with you guys.. Here' goes..

We got a car last week, a little Nissan. Our Older Toyota was being weird and the shop can't figure out what's wrong with it. Probably something with the heating/cooling system. It keeps losing antifreeze somehow. Anyway, we get this car and put it on our Disney Visa.. (We'll get it off when the bill's up) ..to get the points for our trip. :) Even when we're buying a car we're thinking how to stretch our Disney budget. ...

Another thought before I head off to work. I need to get in shape for this trip. I hurt my knee pretty badly about a year ago. It's still a problem sometimes. I would also wouldn't mind weighing a little less. :)

Would anyone be interested in joining a "getting in shape and/or losing weight for August" thread. If enough people are interested I'll start something over by, what, I think the WISH board... Let me know either here or PM.

It might be worth your while to call and see if/how they could accommodate you. Disney is very accommodating about allergies, especially gluten ones. If it's something you're really interested in, I'd check and see!

I agree. It is worth a call to see if they can accomodate you. My DS has a peanut allergy. I always let them know ahead of time, and we've never had a problem. Good luck.

What's everyone thinking about memory maker? Can't decide if it's worth it.

I love memory maker. It's the only way I can make sure that we have pictures of our whole family together. I get the typical shots, but I also try to find photographers off the beaten path as well. I got some great shots in AK last year. I also really like the ride photos. DS now tries to stick his tongue out in as many ride photos as he can. :)

So on our first day we have an ADR for Mama Melrose Fantasmic package at 3:45. My dilemma is do I try for a later dinner (none available currently) or switch to lunch?

It's our first day so I figure we will want to get there early and with the current dining time we will be there until after Fantasmic. We have never gone in August but I'm imagining we might want to head to the room for a few hours to cool down or swim. An acquaintance of mine who is a Disney agent made all the ADR's and when I mentioned this to her she said I should keep 3:45 because by the time we eat it will probably be 5. I think she was missing my point about the day's structure and concentrating on how I said it was so early for dinner. Also would I want to eat a big heavy Italian dinner in the middle of the day if I switch to lunch? So should I try for a later dinner, do a lunch or keep it the way it is?

I am so sorry I didn't see this until just now. I hope you were able to get your reservations. 6AM for online and 7AM for phone. You probably already know that now. Sorry again.

Thanks. I think I will if my stalking doesn't pay off. Last year when I got into BOG, it took about a month of constant checking, but did get in. So here's hoping, but lunch would be fun to try as well.

You'll love Boma. Even my picky eater DD10 found plenty to eat and can't wait to go back.

Hey, we'll be at the Dessert Party the same night! :goodvibes We thought it sounded like a great way to end a trip.

My thoughts exactly .. Go out with a bang lol! And I figured we had a better chance of getting the reservation if it was at the end of the trip.. At first the CM said it was booked!!!! But something came up while we were on the phone so I grabbed it lol!! Happy to hear everyone is getting what they want..

3:45 seems very early for dinner.. I would do a later dinner. So you can refresh at the hotel and take a swim before dinner.

I would definitely switch to lunch. We did the MM Fantastic package on one of our August trips. We got to HS for rope drop and toured hard for the first 3 or 4 hours and then had lunch. It was the perfect time to relax and get out of the heat. :goodvibes

Thanks! I think that might be my only option. I searched various days and weeks (just to see) and there doesn't seem to be anything much later than 3:45!

I hear ya. We are slated to get slammed again tomorrow :worried: . I am assuming it will be yet another snow day for the kiddo. I can hardly remember the last time he had a full week of school.....I'm sure it was before Christmas.

But spring is coming, right? Someday?
