I can't wait to go away in September. It's gonna be amaaaazing! My husband is a teacher too. Im starting to think we won't make it to retirement with how things are going, so maybe it will be sooner than later. I guess it makes sense that a lot of the August travelers would be teachers. Most people wouldn't choose to go at the hottest time of year/hurricane season

I LOVE the heat of August but we normally go in Sept for lower crowds. This year we're hoping friends of ours can join us, but with children in school, they're also tied to the school calendar. We're hoemschoolers, so most years we head south for the first week of school it's so nice, last trip we were at AKL - and every afternoon the pool was filled with home schooled kids our girls look forward to all their new friends each year.

Just curious-How long has it been since everyone's last trip? Or is it your first?

(Sorry if this was discussed in earlier posts-I tried to keep up, but got lost for a while when work/life got crazy

My last trip was in 2011-my longest "dry spell" ever. I've been reading the Thinking Fan's Guide to WDW, and it occurred to me that it's going to look soooo different. The thought of Dumbo being moved and the other FL changes is starting to make me sad. I don't deal well with change

Our last trip was a 4 day weekend in April (it was REALLY tough to convince DH to fly From north/central alberta to FL for only 4 days ) If we didn't go then, it'd have been 2 years between trips. I just couldn't do it - I needed my fix!!

Last trip I was at the start of the third trimester with our 4th baby - this trip will be that baby's first Disney trip for his first birthday. :good vibes

We're surprising our girls - kind of - they love to help plan, but we've told them we're going the week after we actually are - our count down has 7 extra days - the morning our trip actually starts we'll wake them and tell them we were too excited to wait anymore and have to leave right then and there. pixie dust:

I'm so excited about the Dwarf's mine train - my girls are all practicing growing bigger b/c they all want to be tall enough for the rides this trip.

We are arriving 8/23 and staying at BLT. We are so excited. I got reservations for Chef Mickeys on 8/23 @ 7: 30pm and BOG on 8/29 @ 4:10pm. The rest will have to wait. We usually go the first week of September and I hope it is not crowded.

Did my ADR's yesterday - got everything I wanted except BOG. How can it be totally booked already???!!! I'll have to stalk till August!
I'm also tracking the rumor that there will be an early MMSSHP on the 29th since MK closes at 7. That would cause me to have juggle my plans a little but for good reason!!! Mood luck to everyone!

I have found with recent trips that they release many adrs a week or 2 prior to the trip. I was able to snag an ADR for Christmas week. Everyday was available with several time slots. Fingers crossed!!

Finally got all my adrs in over the phone! Unfortunately I was in the car and couldn't take down all the confirmation numbers, so I'm anxiously awaiting all my confirmation emails!

I think they open up around 6 or 7am. I will be up bright and early on Monday as well in order to book flights.

I kept getting the same thing!

I had to finally call to get our reservations also. We got all that we wanted, I just with we got slightly earlier at CRT on Monday the 25th. When I first logged on, 8:05 was available. By the time I called, all she had was 8:30.

We're newcomers too, our first time going! We'll be there 8/24-8/31, we have 3 kids going (6,2,2). Our girls turn 3 on the 31st, so I'm hoping they get some fun surprises while we are there!

Is 6am when I can start making reservations on MDE???? I had a feeling the cm I was talking to was giving me incorrect info. She kept saying 7am for Internet bookings. Day 180 for me tomorrow too!

I am so sorry I didn't see this until just now. I hope you were able to get your reservations. 6AM for online and 7AM for phone. You probably already know that now. Sorry again.

You can always try to book the fastpass lunch if they continue to offer it. The lunch menu is great and bypassing the line is fabulous!

Thanks. I think I will if my stalking doesn't pay off. Last year when I got into BOG, it took about a month of constant checking, but did get in. So here's hoping, but lunch would be fun to try as well.

Boma is a dinner I've wanted to try for years and I always let my rational side talk me out of it. I decided that we're going to go for it. On September 5 my DH and I will celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary. So this will be our early dinner! ..with the kids but in this case I love that! .. I fixed the concern I had with loosing flexibility by making it on the day we check in. (I know we'll be there LOL) So please add...

ADR: August 21 5:00 dinner BOMA!!!! YEAH!!!



ETA: I just bought my tickets from Undercover tourist ... decided on ... Park Hoppers!!

You'll love Boma. Even my picky eater DD10 found plenty to eat and can't wait to go back.

I am so jealous of those at the dessert party. We're all strictly gluten-free and as much as I love dessert and fireworks, I can't justify the price when I doubt there'd be very much we could even eat.

But I really hope you enjoy it - I'll just enjoy the desserts vicariously through those of you who can enjoy it.

It might be worth your while to call and see if/how they could accommodate you. Disney is very accommodating about allergies, especially gluten ones. If it's something you're really interested in, I'd check and see!

Im feeling like I'm in an abyss between adrs and fp choices! Now we play the waiting game...

What's everyone thinking about memory maker? Can't decide if it's worth it.
