Planning an August 2014 return to WDW and it's good to find a place of like-minded planners and dreamers. First trip for us was 2010 and I've been wanting to go back ever since the bittersweet ride on the Disney bus back to the airport!:hyper:

We just booked a bounceback! :) we'll be 'home' from august 20th-september 3rd with FREE dining! yay!

:welcome: happy planners!!!!

We are all under one year to go for our August trips!!! :cheer2:

Question of the day: What are you most looking forward to on your August trip?

For us, it will be the 7 Dwarves Mine Train!!! We can't wait to see the last piece of New Fantasyland fall into place!!! pixiedust:

We haven't booked our august 2014 vacation yet. We have decided to leave a little earlier. Instead of leaving Saturday, 8/16th, we are going to leave Friday, 8/15th and stay through Sunday, 8/31st. We have never stayed on any vacation that long before. So I am really excited. We will be celebrating our 10 year anniversary. I am really looking forward to staying at Beach Club resort because it is sooooo close to Epcot, which is my favorite park.

Another thing I am really looking forward to is going to Animal Kingdom. I have been to all of the other parks several times but Animal Kingdom has always been on the chopping block. So this is something new we can look forward to. Our vacation is going to be in 4 parts, which means we will be staying at 4 different resorts/hotels for the two week period. I haven't booked anything yet but I was curious, if I booked Beach Club Resort now at the undiscounted rate, can I get a discount later? Do lower prices come out later? I have never stayed on Disney property before.

Wow! That sounds like a great trip!! :goodvibes

AKL has always been a half day park until recently....now that our youngest is bigger we have found ourselves spending more time there. It really is an awesome park!

To answer your question, if you book BC now at rack rate and a discount comes out later that includes BC, you can apply the discount to your reservation. But, you have to be flexible....sometimes certain room types are blocked from discounts. But, assuming your room type is included under the discount, and you jump on it early, you should be all set. :thumbsup2

Just booked our kid -free Disneymoon Aug 5-10! Never really got true honeymoon and now we will! Looking to cross things off the Disney bucket list like dinner at V&As and Keys to the Kingdom Tour!

Nice!!! No better place to honeymoon than Disney, IMHO!!! DH and I Disneymooned back in 2002

We were lucky to have experienced Disney several times before our kiddos, but we absolutely love watching them fall in love with the place too! :goodvibes

Count me in!!!

Don't have dates yet... But I did book a bounceback... I plan on firming up my dates over the next few days.

Is there an Aug 2014 Facebook group yet?

Oh and for anyone interested... I am doing a TR for the trip we just returned from - you are all welcome to join in - the link is in my siggy. :)

Yes, we are looking forward to this too. We also would like to eat dinner at Ohana's. I've never been to the Poly before.

I went through the entire thread and I did not see a Facebook group mentioned, other than when I asked yesterday morning, so I took the liberty of creating one.

If anyone is interested in joining - please PM me for the link. :)

Joining in... Tentatively booked a FD BB offer at POR Aug 20-31 2014. Excited to join in early to gather more ideas for next year!

Thanks!! We love Disney and our boys do too! I was worried they would be upset to be left out but they have been 3 years in a row so they were alright. They did however demand a trip 2015!

Just returned from 10 days at Pop and booked bounceback at Riverside for next August 20-30, with free dining! Did a split stay with 3 days at POFQ 5 years ago and we are looking forward to spending the entire vacation this time. Boys are growing (will be 12 & 14) so we need a bit more space even though we spend little time at the resort. Was difficult leaving Pop after 7 years in a row there, but we are looking forward to making Riverside our new home away from home.

We'll be at POR same dates :-)

OH I'M SO HAPPY YOU STARTED ONE!!!!!!:woohoo: My DH and I planned our vaction one week after we got home! lol I can't seem to function as a human if i'm not looking forward to a Disney trip!!!! We are going on a 3 night bahama cruise with the Disney cruise line THEN when the ship disembarks we will take magical express to the Wilderness lodge and stay there for 5 more nights. So we are looking at 9 days and 8 nights of Disney fun!!! I'm excited because i've never cruised before and this will give me a little tasted with out taking away our disney trip! our cruise dates are the 14th-17th then the 17th we check in to the Wilderness Lodge and don't check out till the 22nd! Yay!!

On a seporate note I started a youtube channel where I review Disney resturants to help new mouse lovers plan their ADR's. I am very nervouse about mean comments but I supposes that's par for the course but if i review a resturant you love and you hate my rating I AM SO SORRY:sad2: But please check me out and give me hits on youtube if you want. I would be very grateful. here's the link!!!:yay:

We're celebrating out 10th also on the 21st. Hoping to get BW at a good rate. Looks like we'll be neighbors for a week.

Cheers,

POP is a great resort, but yes, as a family of four it is a bit tight. :crowded:
We haven't stayed at POR but it looks beautiful! I will be at POFQ in a couple of weeks for the 1st time and plan on exploring both resorts! :goodvibes

Sounds like a fantastic vacation!!! I hear you on the need to have a vacation to plan! It definitely makes the days easier when you have something to look forward to! I always have 1-2 trips that I am working on. :thumbsup2

Oh, and the WL is our absolute favorite resort!!! ::yes::

Count me in. We'll be at POR from Aug 13-17 then over to a 1 bedroom at OKW from Aug 18-27. 14 nights in total - woo hoo! We usually go the last bit of Aug and into the first week of Sept but my oldest just started university this Fall so no more of that. I have to admit I'm worried about the crowds - I love Sept for next to no crowds. Also this is the first time we have others making the trip with us. So it will be my family (4 total) and my DH's daughter and her family (another 4), so 8 in total! Anyone with experience getting ADRs for so many people? Also hoping for some good RO discounts :worship:

WE LOVE IT TOO! Last year was our first time staying there and we both just fell in love. It is so nice and quite after a long day in the bustling parks. it feels so nice to come back and sit in front of a fireplace in a big leather chair with a cup of coffee or a martini lol
