8 DAYS!!!

Amazing!! :thumbsup2

Sending healing thoughts. I have a little guy that age.. they must be so scared:sad2:

I am having real trouble making myself do anything for this trip you guys. I'm excited and I want to be there. I just don't want to do anything I need to do to actually get there! I don't want to pack, I don't want to make lists, or go to the bank or organize or.. the list goes on:crazy2:
I don't know what has gotten into me. I usually love this stuff and I just want to go. I think I am burnt out from being the family trip planner/organizer/packer.
I want someone else to do it all:rotfl:

this is me too a tee. I was like that right before the wedding too. I missed a couple small things (like packing my husband clothes to change into :rotfl2:) & literally just shrugged everything off. I am very "a" type & anal so it was weird i was like that.

I have no energy to do anything. I work a mixture of nights & evenings so that doesn't help. I hope i get the pick up soon, i have been sleeping 10-12 hours a day & i know i won't be able to sleep that much in florida.

So far weather wise it looks like rain every day, thundershowers every day & hotter here than there. No 110 that i was expecting at all. Matter of fact i don't think it said it will be above 30C any day.

Having driven more miles than I care to think about, the 2 problems I encountered most using credit cards were:
*being charged up to $.15 more per gallon when using credit (this isn't everywhere by any means, just make sure to pay attention)
*when using the pay at the pump option I had $75 'held' on my card when it was only a $35 sale (this was my own fault because I had been driving for 8 hours, wasn't paying attention and failed to notice the sign that stated this policy)

Most pumps allow debit cards right at the pump, especially if it has a mastercard or visa logo on it.

Oh yeah, and the price is per gallon, not liter. One of my family from Ontario came down here a few years back and about had a stroke when she saw $3.59 as the price :rotfl:

lol, yes I know its per gallon, I am excited it is soooo much cheaper, currently 1.278 per litre here or $5.12/ gallon!!! we are filling up here then hoping to make it to the US before more gas.

This makes me feel like cash/debit is a better option anyway. Never heard of a different price for credit, only full service

This trip has snuck right up on me-with moving into the new house, I have lost all track of time as well as any organization skills I once posessed:rotfl: I think for the first time, I will be one of those people who pack the day before we leave!! Thankfully I have a packing list............er somewhere:rolleyes1....(penny goes to check inside the box marked "Mousellaneous" lol)

Oh no feel better soon to your whole family!

I'm having a hard time here too.. barely have any ADR's, haven't started packing, just have a rough idea what we are doing while we are there. Gotta snap out of this.

Ugh! Hope you all feel better soon! Sending you lots of pixie dust!

Thank you.

Thankfully it seems to have been a 24hr bug and we are all back to normal. Now onto the disney planning.

I think I will try to knock some things off the list today. Like the rest of you I am usually completely done by now or well on my way to having everything wrapped up. It has been a busy summer though so it's all just waiting for now.

Yep today is my only day off for the next ten days and considering we leave in 20 days I guess I had better accomplish something today. So you all try not to give me to many pages to catch up on this evening.

I am sooooo far behind this year!:confused3 I am usually half packed, tshirts done by now but not this year.

I have one week left and I need to get my butt in gear!:rolleyes1

It doesn't help that my hospital rolled out a new computer program for everything (charting, orders, etc) this week. And since I run an anticoag dept for three of our clinics I need to make sure that everyone is up to speed with the new program BEFORE I leave for vacation.:scared:

Anywho, the type "A" planner in me made a to do list and gave the kids their marching orders.....

We will be "home" in 8 days!!!!!

:headache: STRESS!!! okay, we have never traveled into the states together...and I hear things about paying for gas before pumping...we pay after we pump here, can this be done with cash? canadian debit card?

You can pay for fuel with a Canadian CC, debit or cash but you need to pay inside before you pump. Usually one of us goes in pays $35 (car) $50 (SUV), gets a receipt, checks with the person pumping, claims a refund, get a new receipt.

A CC will work outside at border communities like Watertown NY, but most want a Zipcode entered, Postal codes don't work.

Once you get to Disney it will be easier since you will need to make fewer phone calls. Charge everything to the room, every few days go to the front desk and have them charge the credit card, calling the company at that time.

And another option is to put cash down as a deposit on the room instead of credit card. I've done it a few times and it worked the same as a credit card.

Well, I'm glad I am still in my "git r done" mode as this morning I went to the bank for the change I will need for the tip envelopes. I stuffed the envelopes. I went to Wal-Mart and bought all the pet food/cat litter that may be needed while we are gone. Oh, while I was there I found some cute Disney socks I just HAD to have!!! I went online and purchased the Universal Studios tickets and printed them out. And all this was done before I came into work for 8am! Not too shabby, eh. Ok, fine....I was a wee bit late for work, but who cares --- I AM GOING TO DISNEY IN 9 DAYS!!!! I'm a little more relaxed now that this part is done. Now we have physicals for Victoria on Friday and for Cutie the dog on Saturday, then it will just be packing and everything is already hanging on a special rod in my room. I am just sooooo excited! I still am wondering about the bounceback offer, though. Has anyone heard what it is?? ;)

Hi Jason, I live in the Dallas area and have a 9 year old too! How long's your trip and where are you staying??

Hi Halloween Baby!

McKinney here! This year we are going a cheaper route, and staying at the Drury Inn. It's only a few minutes away from the parks, and it's a brand new hotel.

I feel strange because all of you guys have been planning your trips for months and months!!

I booked on Saturday, and we leave in 5 sleeps!

I guess it's best to do it that way, since I'm not anxiously counting down the months lol :)

Jason

ONE WEEK TO GO!!!!!!

Just checked our flight time..... Weds @ 7am ...... I thought we needed to leave our house at 7 :headache: ..... I Work the night before and this could be tight! :crowded:

Getting to the world by 11am will make it all better!

That is the one thing I haven't done yet is to check the flights to make sure nothing is changed. I would think the airline would notify us by email, but I will check just to be sure!!

Fine by me! I'm such a baby about the dentist.

In other news..
I still don't have my Mickey Mail but it should be here soon. I changed resorts for the last time pretty late in the game and it had to go to my TA first so I am expecting it any day now.:)

Well, hopefully they will be able to take care of your tooth soon. For now just enjoy those "calm myself down" meds! ;)

We leave 2 weeks from tomorrow and I have not gotten much accomplished. I have to do everything after the kids go to bed since this is a surprise trip. It also doesn't help that the Olympics are on.

The night before we leave, I am going to a concert. I am sure I won't end up sleeping.

On another note, if you are of the praying kind, please say one for my friends son. He is 8 years old and 2 weeks ago he was diagnosed with a staff infection in his ankle bone. Well yesterday, he had to be admitted to the PICU. He now has fluid on his lungs, some kind of odd rash amongst other things. Just about an hour ago, they had to put in a breathing tube.

Thanks!

Prayers to your friend's son. Ugh, that's got to be awful!

We will be lighting a fire under you now.....GO GET STUFF DONE!!! :yay:

Agreed! Get a Disney Visa! :lmao:

Totally agree!!

Oh, your new hubby didn't really NEED those clothes anyways, right?! You are another Team August member that we will light a fire under!!! I think watching a Disney You Tube video might help, huh?

Curious to know if that Mousellaneous box turned up!!

Yay!!! Now stay healthy until AFTER YOUR TRIP. I keep threatening my family with this very statement!!! No one is getting sick and if you are, I don't want to hear about it! :lmao:

Oh, you know this thread.....there will only be about 5 or 10 pages by the time you come back!

:

I have never seen the policy where you get charged more per gallon for using a credit card in IA or IL. I have seen where they hold a certian amount because they want to make sure you can cover your entire purchase but I figured the hold went away once you were done pumping. I know you can get a discount at some places if you have a rewards card you get a discount. Or if your a Sams member your gas is 6 cents less at the Sams gas station or if you use a Walmart gift card you get 3 cents off. I thought about getting gas that way but its a hassle for a few cents. If I knew I could hit walmart/sams gas stations the whole drive to FL I would do buy a big gift card for it. :)

I need to start packing too. I figured out what outfits DH is going to wear while at WDW so now its a matter of packing them (still waiting on 2 sets of shorts to arrive in the mail).

Oh and I decided to wait and get my misty fan at WDW. I know it will be more expensive but hopefully it will work and if it doesn't I know I can exchange it or return it easily. I ordered Body Glide from an online Running store vendor with free shipping. I should have it tomorrow! Its a small travel size but that's all I need. I only need it when I wear my dresses which wont be everyday.

Just did online check-in!!! :)

But the only 'special request' option was for a pack & play. I thought you could write in room requests?

Oh my, I am completely with you on that. I know what I need to do and keep bugging everyone else in the family that we need to start getting organized, but I just can't seem to do it myself. I also have to start my major cleaning before we leave and I just can't seem to get started on that either. I could really use a good swift kick in the rear right about now :rotfl:.

Awesome!! I love being productive!

You WOULD think but ever since Continental changed to United, they have NOT been sending out emails with flight changes. Luckily I check myself every couple of weeks a caught a BIG change in time AND flight numbers so I was able to get that fixed with ME in time.
