****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

ONE WEEK TO GO!!!!!!

Just checked our flight time..... Weds @ 7am ...... I thought we needed to leave our house at 7 :headache: ..... I Work the night before and this could be tight! :crowded:

Getting to the world by 11am will make it all better!

Pigletto tooth update..

The dentist thinks there may be a mild infection around the broken wisdom tooth so to be on the safe side he's put me on antibiotics and I have to come back in a week to get it removed:rolleyes:

So.. all that worry for nothing. And I am not really worried about next week because he wrote me a prescription to "ease my nerves" before the next appointment.:rolleyes1

Fine by me! I'm such a baby about the dentist.

In other news..
I still don't have my Mickey Mail but it should be here soon. I changed resorts for the last time pretty late in the game and it had to go to my TA first so I am expecting it any day now.:)

Oh as for the online check in thing..
I've gotten my requests for online check in when I've made them (which was only once and I requested a specific building at the Poly).
My TA emailed me the confirmation Disney sent her when she made the booking and my request is right on there so I know it was submitted.

I've never found waiting in the regular line too bad. I don't really see an advantage in using online check in unless it's a very busy time of year. I'd probably use it at Christmas time for example just to not wait for 2 hours to get my room assignment.

6 more days ad we all came down with the touch flu :(

Oh no feel better soon to your whole family!

Just found a pair of Teva mush. They seem comfortable so far (only worn for about 10 minutes - wearing on a mall trip tomorrow) are not a thick sole (didnt have those in that style for my big feet) but seem pretty good so far. Definately beat my Old Navy flip flops ;)

How exciting. i can't wait! Though i don't feel ready yet lol

Me Neither!!

Woo HOOO!!! I'm so excited for you!! 18.5 days to go for me!!! :-)

I love that you're counting half days now! I may start counting hours soon!! :goodvibes

This is crazy! I just can't sleep...thinking about packing! What bag should I bring onboard the plane? Will I forget the park tickets, gps and car seat? Do I really want that adr? All the while, Call me Maybe keeps playing in my head! I can't do this for a whole week!
7 more half sleeps til Disney!

Now it's in my head too!

Hello everyone, new member here!

6 more sleep to go till I (33) and son (9) arrive in Orlando. We are staying off site, but are looking forward to a magical trip! This will be our third visit.

Cheers!

Jason from Dallas :cool1:

Hi Jason, I live in the Dallas area and have a 9 year old too! How long's your trip and where are you staying??

8 DAYS!!!

octopussoir-.tumblr.gif

Ha! You really need to stop posting these mid-day! My coworkers think I'm nuts for laughing so loud!!

A very good question! I have heard others on the DIS say that once you ck in online it cancels out any original requests you had already made:confused3. I dont know who to believe, but I have online ck in coming up soon and I have 3 rooms-and I dont want to screw anything up that Ive already asked for (which is only to be close to eachother, and to be in the Aligator Bayou section at POR)

I checked in online and then called because I decided to switch our last day (we were going for one night to ASMu but decided to stay at CSR). He had all of our original requests still in there.

We are also offsite :wave2:

Got email confirmation today to print out for the YES class! Tomorrow I have to drop off my van for a recall to be fixed. Thursday my youngest has a cleaning at the dentist. I need to make a list of groceries we'll be taking with us and buy whatever I don't have already. Time is starting to go by faster!

We got ours today too! It'll be fun if our boys get to meet!

Gotta go make some t-shirts!! :thumbsup2

We leave 2 weeks from tomorrow and I have not gotten much accomplished. I have to do everything after the kids go to bed since this is a surprise trip. It also doesn't help that the Olympics are on.

The night before we leave, I am going to a concert. I am sure I won't end up sleeping.

On another note, if you are of the praying kind, please say one for my friends son. He is 8 years old and 2 weeks ago he was diagnosed with a staff infection in his ankle bone. Well yesterday, he had to be admitted to the PICU. He now has fluid on his lungs, some kind of odd rash amongst other things. Just about an hour ago, they had to put in a breathing tube.

Thanks!

I have never done online check in. I only had to wait in a longish line for check in once at POP. It was not fun since we were running later than expected and then the ME bus was full and we were near the back of that line. We were late for our ADR but when I was checking in, I mentioned it and the CM called and told them we would be on our way soon and they had a table waiting for us when we got there. Nice! But anywhoooo, I am of the mindset that the checkin process is part of the whole experience. It also gives me a little time to decompress from the flight and ME and to just think for a minute or two with out the kids in my ears. :rolleyes1

Will definitely say a prayer! Hope he feels better soon!

Sending healing thoughts. I have a little guy that age.. they must be so scared:sad2:

I am having real trouble making myself do anything for this trip you guys. I'm excited and I want to be there. I just don't want to do anything I need to do to actually get there! I don't want to pack, I don't want to make lists, or go to the bank or organize or.. the list goes on:crazy2:
I don't know what has gotten into me. I usually love this stuff and I just want to go. I think I am burnt out from being the family trip planner/organizer/packer.
I want someone else to do it all:rotfl:

Me too! Part of the problem is that I have been planning since May 2011. We were originally supposed to go in Oct 2011, but had to move the trip to August. I also have so much going on that I can't even enjoy my summer! I am vowing to have it all done by Friday so that I can sit my butt on the beach ALL next week, then head to Disney! Good luck with your wisdom tooth next week!

2 more sleeps (well more like 1 1/2) Disney!!! And shocker! I'm nowhere near ready! Lol I still have to finish packing, iron, clean, the works. Meanwhile, I have to say goodbye to my kiddies and some close friends tomorrow. Well, not goodbye, see you soon. I could have gotten stuff done when I got home but I instead chose to sit on the computer reading page after page on Perez Hilton lol. Ok now I'm really going to get stuff done lol

Also guilty of this! Haha! I had to force myself to turn off the computer and clean the house today!

Only 17 more days! After all the planning since March I am getting excited but it is weird I am sad that in less than a month it will be over. But I can always bring on the charm with my wife and see if we can go next year!

I can relate to this! I hate that my trip, that I have been anticipating for sooooo long, will soon be over! But I agree, if I can talk DH into the bounceback, it will be bearable to leave! haha

:headache: STRESS!!! okay, we have never traveled into the states together...and I hear things about paying for gas before pumping...we pay after we pump here, can this be done with cash? canadian debit card?

I was planning on doing everything on a credit card but here comes the STRESS!!! there is a charge on the statement that I did not make! However the company(who i have never heard of let alone used) is not giving the credit card company much information, so they need to open a formal investigation. Since we areleaving soon they can not gaurentee a new card would come in time, but offered to restrict the card for now and I will need to call each time I am using it....which is inconvient and annoying. However to avoid more fraudulant charges it is necessary so thinking about forgoing the card and using cash/debit, just wondering if this will work...TIA

12 more days and it will all be worth it :rolleyes1

Depending on the station, if you pay with cash, they want you to pay before you pump. If you have a credit card then most places you pay at the pump.

I would insist that the credit card company overnight you a card. They don't like to do this but they can.

I tried, even offered to pay for it, they said they cannot do it :sad2: after the trip I will probably look into switching companies...they are not being very easy to work with!

You should be able to pay with debit card...but the Canadian part I'm not sure. But yes you have to pay before you pump either with a card OR if you do cash you just have to go in and pay before you pump so you just have to guess it will be 50 dollars or whatever. If you get full before the amount you paid, you can go in for a refund. So cash is doable. Maybe you can get a prepaid credit card from Walmart or the like if you don't get your new card on time and just put all your gas money on that?

But I hope you get your new card on time!

Mickey Mail in hand and using all self restraint from packing and having the suit cases ready by the door. I mean, we can be Nudists for 2 weeks, right? ;)

This is the first year the kids are wearing mainly Customs at Disney so I have to coordinate wisely so I have room for everything :goodvibes

Having driven more miles than I care to think about, the 2 problems I encountered most using credit cards were:
*being charged up to $.15 more per gallon when using credit (this isn't everywhere by any means, just make sure to pay attention)
*when using the pay at the pump option I had $75 'held' on my card when it was only a $35 sale (this was my own fault because I had been driving for 8 hours, wasn't paying attention and failed to notice the sign that stated this policy)

Most pumps allow debit cards right at the pump, especially if it has a mastercard or visa logo on it.

Oh yeah, and the price is per gallon, not liter. One of my family from Ontario came down here a few years back and about had a stroke when she saw $3.59 as the price :rotfl:

What's your credit like? Personally, I would apply for a credit card with a diferent company now. Many places give you instant approval and will express mail it to you is you say you need it for a trip. Then after all this is resolved, cancel this one. Then again, DH and I have good credit and are used to churning credit cards (applying and cancelling constantly to get good CC sign-up bonuses). We carry a LOT of cards at any one time. But then again, we absolutely would never carry a balance.
