****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

I told my DS that I was planning on painting my toe nails for this trip, since we'll be spending so much time in sandals or barefoot....and he informed me that I was "too old" for such things  . I am not sure how "young" he thinks you're supposed to be, but at 38, I guess I'm officially over the hill.

Maybe he won't mind if I bring my knitting needles and Ovaltine on the plane :rotfl: .

My poor Jake.....I will be painting 'em anyway and enjoying "feeling" young, even if I'm not :cool2: . I am not entirely ready to grow up just yet!

:rotfl2:

You're 38? Me too:)
You tell that boy that my mom who is 58 took my dd and I and all of my sisters for pedicures just a few weeks ago. She got a nice respectable colour.:rotfl:
Or offer to do them in "Mauve". My dd told me the other day she thinks only people over 60 have the ability to see mauve.

Funny kids we have!

I just did my 10 day check in:) I am on a girls weekend in they Poconos and was worried about service from my phone but it is great!

For a snack, I want a dole whip of course. It is a family tradition to call my sisters or send a photo text message when we get one.

Yay for online check in!!!

As for a snack.. hmmmm... nothing I've been dreaming of. I really want to go over to the AoA food court and try one of the new fruit smoothies though!

We don't know where we're staying for February for sure yet, so we're going to go check it out and see if we'd like to stay in one of the Little Mermaid rooms or stick with POR. The kids want a family suite in February but it's really not necessary when there is only four of us.

QOTD: What snack(s) are you most looking forward to in Disney??

I am most looking forward to EVERYTHING!!! :lmao:. J/K...I am most looking forward to having my Dole Whip Float, Cupcakes from Starring Rolls (mostly the Chocolate/Peanut Butter and the Marble Cupcakes), something caramel from the Caramel Shop in the Germany Pavilion, something good from Goofy's Candy Co. Can you tell we love to snack while at Disney? :goodvibes....

24 more days!!!! :cheer2:

11 DAYS

Ahaha too funny!

QOTD - I am most looking forward to cupcakes @ Starring Roles, Dole Whip (have to try one of these as we are @ the Poly), think I may try Tonga Toast (not really a snack but...), Mickey Ice Cream....

I'm looking most forward to the Dole Whips and fresh baked peanut butter cookies!!

Packing today! DH is working on the laundry (we have to bring it back and forth to his parents house bc we don't have a washer or dryer in our apartment) and I am cleaning and packing away!! We are going to have to make a Target run. I feel like we are definitely going to need some last minute stuff lol

When you go to Target, DO NOT LOOK AT THE DISNEY CLOTHES. You'll end up spending a fortune

So it is disgustingly hot and humid here today. The air is so thick:crazy2:

My husband just said "Quick.. lets go outside and line up on the lawn so we can practice for Disney. I'll even hum the music from Wishes."

:lmao:

So got creative again...made my son a letter for part of the surprise reveal. I used a journal page made by someone from the creative DISigns section. The text on the 'memos' are the only thing I modified, everything else was created by a DISigner named donatalie. I think it turned out pretty well :goodvibes
So cute! Love it!

My DH is the one into all things geeky and I am into all things (or most) reality TV. At work EVERYONE knows I am the Queen of Disney and I have only been there for 17 months, and that includes summer school breaks. I have only been on the jobsite for 13 months. I have even had 3 people already ask me for my opinion and help on where to stay, where to eat and things to do. One lady even borrowed one of my hidden magic of Walt Disney World book and my DS hidden Mickey book before and during her trip. I like being the person people come to for advice.
That's cool. If I knew someone like that I would ask them too but instead I found the DIS. ;)

I was thinking of "reality TV" as mostly shows like the ones on HDTV. I know they are considered reality tv but shows like Real World and the Real Housewives I think of them more of a documentery style. I don't even think of a show as reality unless it has a vote off or a reveal. I get board if I am not pulling for someone on a show. :confused3

Work of Art is on Bravo. Its the same as Project Runway. Instead of designing clothes and having models go down a runway. They do a fine art project and have an art show at the end.

Thats great news about your DH. :thumbsup2
Cool! I will have to find it. That sounds right up my alley!

Watching Toy Story 3 tonight. Seriously, it's such an awesome movie.

I also painted my nails tonight. With a Disney theme of course! You can see my nails here:

I think they came out good!

Is anyone planning to do Disney nails for their trip?
How'd you do that??? SO cool! The Minnie eyes look great! I want to get a manicure and pedicure b4 my trip. I usually never do it because i just do it myself. I just cut down all my nails last night though. I kept accidently scratching DH. They grow pretty fast so by next week they will be a good length for a manicure.

It's so frustrating when a person that is not crazy about it doesn't ask for advice. Then they get back and tell you all the things that they hated

They eat at all the wrong places, go at the worst time of the year and don't do common sense things like fast pass.

I know right?! I haven't been but I couldn't believe the one couple who complained about their trip and how they didn't understand fast pass and spent all day online and only spent like an hr at epcot because they thought it was boring and DH was asking about ride x y and z and they didnt go on any and they didn't know anything about drinking around the world. They did go on Soarin' and liked that but didn't go on Mission Space or several other rides DH asked them about. :P Why not do some basic research online before going?

So glad your DH is feeling better! I was feeling sad that you guys might have to cancel- I am really praying that your DH feels good and you get to go in a couple of weeks!

Love them!! Adorable! I got a pedi last night with my OPI Minnie Mouse polish! I prob won't paint designs (love the Minnie dots though!), but I have Minnie, Muppets, and Pirates of the Caribbean OPI sets that I will decide between before we go!

Thanks Beachmama! I hope we won't have to either. I want to get that OPI Minnie mouse polish! :)

)
I have not been so I can't speak from experience, but I just love sweets so anything sweet looks yummy. However every time i see those Mickey pretzels I think those just look delicious. I love soft pretzels but dont eat them often and those look yummy!

I still have not seen that movie! Must make sure to do that this week.

I wanted to see Brave before I went too, however I was waiting until it went to the cheap theater (our cheap theater has 3d too) but I don't think its going to be there in time so now I need to decide if I want to see it at Disney for a small fortune or continue to wait til it comes to the cheap theater or til it comes out on DVD.

Some opinions plz. I've never tried this kind of thing but seen it done on the DISigns thread. Took about an hour so it's probably not to great, just hoping I'm on the right track. (As you can tell, Chip N' Dale are his favorites)
Thanks! :goodvibes
I think its cute! Especially if he loves chip and dale! Is this a window decoration? What do you plan to do with it?

Oh hey Mrs Night has your husband ever tried tanning beds for his psorisis? I have exema & i know others with psorisis & the uv rays help them. I had it full on one side of my leg for 2 years, did not go away, did not do anything, out breaks all the time & when i went tanning for my wedding it disappeared after a few weeks. It might help even though wont cure him.
Actually we have a narrow band UVB 'box' (its 3 sides) that he uses 3x a week. Light does help some. Actually the only thing that ever got rid of it was his 4 week out patient treatment at the Mayo Clinic. It involved the wet wraps that we do now when he's flared. Then coal tar applications 3x a day and light treatment once a day. It completely cleared him and was supposed to put him in remission for a year or more but it lasted all of one week when he returned home. Drs call his psoriasis 'resistant' EVERYTHING helps at first then it stops. But since the lights helped the first time they prescribed the light box and he does that now in addition to topical medications and a monthly immunosuppresant injection. I also have him on a bunch of vitamins and fish oil. The fish oil really helps too. Whenever we run out he flares a bit so I try to keep it here.

Meanwhile this weekend is Tax Free weekend in Iowa so I want to try and finish up some of my shopping for Disney. :goodvibes

Thanks for the link, I am going to try to hit those all!

I just thought of another snack that I am going to try- the nutella waffle sandwich at Sleepy Hollow!!

Do you know if the nutella waffle is a snack credit on the dining plan? :confused3

My brother and his kids arrived at Disney. He already posted of pick of his kids at MK. We'll be heading there in the AM. Looks like we may be leaving around 4am. Getting the kids to bed early tonight. Car packed except for food and toiletries. :car:

How exciting!!! :cool1:

Wow! I must go to bed way too early. Several pages to catch up on and it didn't help I have been doing yard work most of the day.

QOTD: What snacks are you looking forward to? I just like to eat, so I will just have to see what I want when I get there.

Trying to remember who posted saying their child thought they were too old to get nails polished and the poster is 38. Well their child is going to think I am ancient, I am 46 and my dd and I go get our toes done together. Also, I am an older mom dd is 9 and ds is 5.

.

I want one of those mickey head pretzels in frontierland. And of course a mickey ice cream bar.

I am actually looking forward to all those character meals we have. I'm such a kid..... lol.. Sometime I think I enjoy them just as much as my two kids. LOL

Wow, it hit 92 w/heat index of 96 here south of Buffalo, it's only 87 at Disney!

Just about to get dinner for the kids and then baths. After that it will be bed time for them. I need to finish cleaning the kitchen,etc.. notating on our list anything else I think we need to take. I know I am forgetting something. If I did it will come to me as we are unpacking in our room. LOL
