****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

4 days to go! getting down to the wire and I still have so much to do.:scared1:

Does anyone else stress over possible hurricanes?

We went for our honeymoon in Sept of 04 and stressed over Ivan. Then in Sept. of 08 we stressed over Ike.

DH has been reminding me every day that things have been quiet in the tropics and each time I only half jokingly reply that the storms are just waiting for us to get down there. :rotfl2: I know that there is nothing I can do to change the weather but I still get super stressed over the thought of a hurricane hitting while we are there. We've been lucky both times the storms missed Florida or didn't hit until after we were gone but as they say 3rd times the charm. I'm thinking our next trip will have to be outside of hurricane season for a change. One less thing for me to worry about.

Hooray success you found them! Are you going the last week of the month (I'm to lazy to check page one) if you are I will keep my eyes open for them. We requested to be placed in AB at POR.

Yes, we will be there the last week. We will be in the mansion section as all the Royal Guest Rooms are there. I did request a first floor room due to my disability so I am hoping it's honored. I plan on faxing a few days before we leave to remind them of the reason for my request. Hope to see you around!

I feel the same way. Just keep thinking that something's going to turn up right before we go!

As for the puppies, we are lucky to have DH's best friend who stays at our house when we're gone. The dogs love him so it works out great!

Also, question.........What is everyone doing with their animals?

My dog is not quite 8 months yet but will be when we go. He is a big baby with seperation anxiety. We left him at the kennel the night of the bachelor/bachelorette & he was so nervous he did not want them anywhere near him. He has never acted like that before.

I was going to put him in the kennel if i had too but thankfully my brother is going to stay here, bear loves him as much as he loves us. He looked after him when my husband had emergency surgery in march so he got to know him well. He gets super excited when he visits so i know he will be ok.

12 days is a long time, he would feel abandoned. At least at home he will know we are coming back

My babies are staying home with relatives. My Maltese got very angry when we left her the first time as a puppy. She wouldn't come to me for 3 days after we returned! My YorkiePoo has never been away from us for more than a few hours. She is 10 months old. The good news is they get to stay in their own house so I am sure they will be fine. The question is will I be fine....lol. I'm going to miss them terribly!

My dad gets to atch the dog for the time we are gone...last vacation we got my unt to and my dad got lonely and went and got the dog....so we fgured skip the middle man this time.

my ods is 6, he really keeps thinking some how he will grow big enough to get on Rockin Roller coaster...by friday! He is just about 46" hard to get them to stand well enough but even with shoes, not going to happen. He is a super thrill seeker. Yds, 4, keeps saying that I am taking him on tower or terror. I dont want to ride tower of terror but gladly DH will. Ods said it was one of his favorites. So now I need to defice if I wil infact go on it. Yikes!

My DS6 is the same way...e loves thrill rides! but he had been stretching determined to reach 48 inches and to my surprise when we went to an amusement pak or his birthday, he had done it! he proudly wore his 48 inch bracelet!!! I think ot helped that daddy is 6'5....lol

20 days until we leave!! 15 days left of work....and off I go.

Not a problem! What theme family suite did you request at AoA for your stay? We requested Finding Nemo for when we go down in 3 1/2 weeks. OMG it's less than a month away. :cool1:
We have booked the Cars suites. My boys love Cars so they are super excited!

I put in my grocery order today!
200$ later and we shall have more than enough water, cereal and snacks for the week!

I just did that yesterday also.

I put my LGMHs on my bag last night I bring to the parks. Only 10 days until we leave!!

My friend from school is coming over every weekday we are gone to feed our cats and clean their litter box. We are paying her $10 a day.

24 days to go for us!!
You can all rest easy. There's been no hurricanes because they're waiting for my trip:rotfl:

We've been lucky so far with our late August trips, but I'm always nervous about it. I'm not worried about rain or being stuck in the room for a day or two once we're there, but I always worry the weather will be awful when we're supposed to fly there or back.
We were in Disney when Irene hit NY last summer. There were a lot of people who had to extend their trips because they couldn't get flights home. I talked to one lady who's house was flooded, but there was very little she could do because her flight was delayed for 3 or 4 days. I remember us both saying that you are always prepared for the possibility of a hurricane while in Florida in the summer, but you don't really think about one at home!!

Disney itself has excellent hurricane procedures, and it's so far inland that I don't worry while I am there.

This is the first trip that we will have a dog sitter. She will come 4 times a day and take him on 2 walks. I hope he is okay...she is great, which helps!

What a cute pair!:) You must be relieved to have the dog sitter. My sister comes and spends time with our two cats. It's nice to not have to worry when you're far away.

And btw, we have not only the exact same sofa, but the same throw pillows on the sofa!! :rotfl: I'm sitting on it now:rotfl:

It's a small world, after all! :)
I am happy to have the dog walker...she does it for everyone in the neighborhoo and only charges $20 a day for 4 visits! My family usually helps, but my sisters will also be out of town while we are away. She can do it when we are gone for Christmas too, which is huge!

Both dogs will be boarded at the vet and will share a dog run.

My neighbor will come take care of the cat. I do the same for her (she has 5 cats) when she is out of town. So it works out great.

I have been working on my grocery order a little bit each week. I have to wait until the kids go to bed first. I know as soon as I place the order I will have forgotten something and will have to call and add to it.

Welcome to all the new folks. Look like we will be the only ones at POFQ during our stay. If we share a bus with Riverside I will try to look for folks,

Did you think about buying Uncrustables? They are a great snack for the kids while in Disney or a quick breakfast.

I just noticed your ticker and it says you will be checking in the same day as us :cool1:. How exciting a fellow DISer AND a Team August member arriving the same day as us . Hope you have a Magical trip.

My parents will be watching our cat for a few days (their grandcat as they call her) and DH's parents will watch her for a few days. My mom insists on watching her the entire week but she lives 20 minutes away where DH's parents live 5 minutes away. I feel bad having my mom come up everyday even though she says she doesn't care lol

What are you doing with your pets?

Our neighbor girl is going to come in and check on her once or twice a day. She has a self feeder system, but she gets separation anxiety and needs someone to come in a just pay attention to her once or twice a day.

My husband isn't coming with us, two days after we leave they are sending him on a two week DET to Hawaii. Go figure, LOL. He's not bummed he isn't coming with us anymore. ;)

After being hit with Irene on our honeymoon as a Tropical Storm and then not being able to come home because it hit as a hurricane in New Jersey/New York, I don't really stress about them anymore as long as I'm in the US lol. When you are on an island and you are told there is no way for you to get back into the US, you start to feel claustrophobic lol. If I'm in Disney, I at least know if our flight is cancelled and there are none available in sight, I can drive home lol

Sorry guys, I haven't been on here lately.......

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had to put my loving Rusty kitty down on Friday morning. He was 14 years old and a diabetic so for him to live as long as he did was good. He was there when Victoria was a baby and used to sleep in her crib. He saw me through my abusive marriage, moving, my dad's death, my memere's death, meeting Peter and trying the squeeze his way in between Peter and I for his spot in bed. I loved him so so much!
