****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

I have a stupid question. How do you find/subscribe/download to podcasts? I don't have an iPhone (Droid until October) but my older boys have iPod Touches and my hubs has an iPhone. I have an itunes account and can listen on their devices or my laptop, but someone school me in this because there are some Disney and comedy podcasts I would like to listen to!

Well I may not be the best to ask because I am not too technologically savvy. That's what I have DH for. But I'm starting to get the hang of it. When I am listening on my computer I just go to my iTunes and on the side menu there is an option for podcasts. It will give you a search option and if you type in WDW all the Disney related ones come up.

If you are listening on iphone/ipod touch there is an app called Stitcher you can download. Once you have the app you can just do a search for WDW once you open it up.

You might be able to get the stitcher app for Droid, but I'm not sure. But at least you can listen on laptop or DH's device for sure.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

My goodness this is a fast moving group. I was not on all weekend and this post took off. LOL

I joined the fb group.

I did get insurance, to many variables plus my kids passports just came.

I spent today getting Dis designs printed for autograph books.

Do you post pics of autograph books? I would love to see. I've always wanted to make them because I am obsessed with characters to say the least!

I'm debating making them for my girls, but we usually just buy the park books. I would love some advice!

Thanks,
Melanie

Am I going to get Mickey Mail with a room only? I'm taking ME but won't need the tags cause my plane doesn't get in until 10:15pm. *sigh* I want to be excited to check the mail too!

You don't get anything with room only. But why won't you use the ME tags? We has a flight once that got in after 10pm and we just packed pjs in our carry ons and they brought us our luggage in the morning. Although now that I'm talking about it, did they change the rule about a time limit for having to get your own bags??

Yes there is now a time limit. Flight must get in before 10 PM.

I'm a coffee snob. I REFUSE to drink Nescafe. The only good coffee on property is the stuff you bring yourself, and even then the putrid taste of Florida tap water will sour the taste of your coffee as well. I've taken to bringing Starbucks Via packets, and I'm going to use bottled water to brew it. I already bought mine for the trip, I bought a pack of the hot version for the morning, in the room, and a pack of iced to take out the door in the heat with me and for the afternoon to mix with perhaps some Bailey's for an afternoon poolside libation, LOL.

How does it work with the pod coffee makers and bringing your own coffee? I haven't been able to find anywhere to buy those pod things like they have there

What's going on tonight, Team August?

I am cleaning out a closet. :) It's certain I'm going to be moving sometime in the near future...it just isn't clear which coast I'll be moving to. ;) Living part of the time with my sweetie in NYC has given me some insight into just how little STUFF I need, so I'm in serious purging mode! No matter where it is, I am pretty assured that I won't have quite the closet space I have now, so hello, Goodwill! So far I have 3 dozen empty hangers...plus a bag full of donations.

My Dh drinks coffee but when we are on vacation he doesn't seem to drink much coffee. I drink soda for my coffee in the morning.
I wish I could skip it but get migraines so bad I would be in the ER by late morning. I dont drink soda.

UGH! Killing me. I guess my only choice is bring Via, walk to food court, microwave my bottled water and make it that way. I dont drink floridas nasty water either. Water shouldnt smell:scratchin

The pod thingies that they take are weird, I think they are made for commercial use, I'm not sure where you would even find them on your own. I wish they had Keurig style machines at moderates. (Darn my budget!!!) The small coffee pots will just brew straight water of course, which is what I'll be doing this time.

The guidebooks all say to stop by the Kona Coffee bar on the way to the MK, as they have real coffee. I have two problems with that. Number one, when I asked for a latte, she made it with Nescafe. Number two, when I wised up and just asked for a regular coffee with room for cream the Kona coffee she gave me tasted like molten hot charcoal. I think my tongue is still burned from 2010. BLECH!

The first time we went to Universal and on the way through Citywalk when I spied a Starbucks on level 2, I beelined for it. It was the first real coffee I had had in like 5 days, it was heaven.

Although we are not moving, I've been doing the same all summer. Cleaning out things room by room! I am going to have a yard sale before Disney (souvenir and Dole Whip money! lol), and whatever doesn't sell gets donated. I'm sure you posted this- but when will you know where you are moving to?

My nights have been pretty relaxing since school ended. Tomorrow night: kid movie on the beach! :)

So does anyone else bring some sort of coffee bag or something? I cant stand Nescafe and ALL Stars Music doesnt have coffee makers(which honestly I prefer not to use but I need coffee so I take cleaners and wash it myself normally.
I considered getting instant brewed coffee bags but then I have to waste my money on a refillable mug for hot water:confused3 when I wasted it last time on 2 and never used them(excpect for keeping my beer cold:thumbsup2) since we dont drink soda and learned they STILL serve nescafe in wdw resorts.
What can I expect at AKL for coffee?? Ill get room service if I need, unless Mara has something besides Nescafe. HELP!

I keep a Brita pitcher and coffee filters in one of my Owner's Lockers - just need to bring coffee along or add it to the grocery list. (I don't actually drink coffee, but my sweetie does.)

I think you won't find anything but Nescafe at the resorts, including AKL...Poly I do believe has some good coffee in Kona Cafe, though.

I'm sure you posted this- but when will you know where you are moving to?

Probably within 2 weeks. It all depends on how the job offer negotiations go...if he takes Job #1 then he stays in NYC and I will move there. If he takes Job #2, then we move to San Francisco. There's always a chance he'll stay in his current job (which is a great job that he's happy with), and in that case, I'd still be moving to NYC.

It's all exciting...but a bit stressful! :hyper:

Now, I may not drink coffee, but I do have a serious chai latte habit and only Starbucks will do! This is where having a rental car is super nice...at some point DS will have a hankering for McDonald's and I'll say "Oh, if we must, we must...but oh, hey...why don't we go through this Starbucks drive-thru, too..." :cool1:

Incidentally, the only coffee I've ever enjoyed in my life was at Victoria' and Albert's! I first went there on a girlfriends' trip and the next day I said to one of them (all of them are coffee drinkers) "You know, I keep thinking about that coffee and wishing I had some." She replied, "I'm refusing to think about that coffee, because if I do, I'll never be able to drink regular coffee again!" :rotfl2:

I just dug out my suitcase and took a look to see what all I had in there. Turns out, I had unopened travel sizes in there of all of the things I bought this weekend, LOL! Toothpaste, deodorant, mini Aveda shampoos and the whatnot. I also found our rain ponchos in there, as well as a pair of sandals I have been looking for forever. Note to self: unpack completely next time, or check the suitcase BEFORE you shop.

Step by step Team August, we're getting closer every day.

So, I have a question of the day....

Is anyone else ridiculously excited for the Olympics?

YES! I love the Olympics...I think I'll miss a fair amount because I'll be in the DR for a few days during the games...I'll be parked in front of the ocean, not the TV. ;)

Question - How is everyone going about planning? Do you plan out the days or just go with the flow. We have AK and DHS planned out but having trouble with MK and EP since they are quite a bit bigger.

I tend to start with some givens about where we'll eat, then look at park hours and figure out when to schedule ADRs. (like...if there's an MK EMH at night, then we'll do an early dinner at Citricos). If there are any special events, I put those in and plan around them...like doing an Illuminations cruise. Then I just look at the hours/EMH schedule and start to block out days/nights for different parks and make the rest of my ADRs according to that. I don't plan anything out as far as actual touring...I don't use any ride strategies at all.

Today and tomorrow are going to be stressful for me. I graduated in December in Special Education and I have been a teacher assistant at a school for kids with Autism for six years. I went on an interview at a school like the one I'm at now for a teaching position two weeks ago and they called me to do a mock lesson so I did that last Wednesday. They said there were 5 candidates and 3 positions open and that they would be calling either today or tomorrow. I felt good after the lesson so I'm praying I get this job! Needless to say, I will be a nervous wreck the next two days lol. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Good luck! Have you heard anything yet?

My son has Asperger's, BTW.

And :woohoo: for Mickey Mail!

One thing about being a DVC member and never using Magical Express...I don't get any Mickey Mail! :( At least, not any mail associated with my trips! Although I did live vicariously through my BF and got all excited last week when he texted me a photo of his park hopper that arrived in the mail from Undercover Tourist! :rotfl:
