1st of all there are NO dumb questions on this Team! I just recd a personalized brochure yesterday- a booklet, if you will. Themed in Toy Story style. Pretty cute! Kind of bummed I didnt get any luggage tags, since our ressies are all room-onlys. I will have to use my old ones:confused3

Hahahaha thank you! Omg when I got that, I was so excited lol. I just didn't know if you get anything after the ME packet

(I'm always on the "go all out" and deal with the consequences later side though. True story. ::yes::)

Which is why Im not allowed to hold the checkbook:rotfl2: I say to the hubs "you know you could get hit by a bus tommorow!!" and he says "Well if I do, I know that all the life insurance $$ will be going to a week at the Poly!":lmao:

I've been throwing things into a duffle bag that I know I won't need until vacay but don't want to forget! And seriously, my kids have not put their clean laundry away for a week- I may just start throwing their clothes into a suitcase just to keep their rooms neat!

I can see both sides of your argument- it would be awesome to stay at AKL. And you totally deserve a wonderful vacation!! Check into moderate resorts if you really are going to worry about the money- POR or POFQ are gorgeous, romantic places to stay if you both decide to switch. (I'm always on the "go all out" and deal with the consequences later side though. True story. ::yes::)

:rotfl: Good idea about your kid's clothes.

I thought about a moderate but it wouldn't save us much money. The AKL room is discounted because its a non-view room and makes it literally only 5 dollars more than POFQ and 15 or 20 more than POR which would be my choice of Moderate. So I decided that moving down to a moderate wouldn't be worth it. ASMu however would save us over $600. I know it would be smaller and less romantic but saving $600+ would sure make me feel better. :rotfl2: But my husband will probably not go for it. He wants to stay in the Contemporary so he feels he is already compromising on a non-view AKL room. I wonder where he got his champagne taste...:lmao:

:rotfl2: That is why MY husband does not have the checkbook either!

I guess I should just do it and deal with the consequences later. That's not like me, but who knows when/if we'll ever go again.

Hahahaha I have the same fear!! I'm probably going to wind up taking 1/2 day from work so I can get everything done early so I can get some sleep lol

Doesn't work LOL! Last time I had everything packed a week before and had a crazy amount of lists. I still packed until 1/2am the night before and then the last hour before we left I was still repacking. I am awful! Keep thinking of stuff and jumping up to do it.

Im trying to add myself to the resort list- and failing miserably. Could someone help me? When I try to add my info and click submit, it tells me that my response is too short---story of my life:goodvibes

Just post the thread and I'll add it - probably later today. Have a LOT to add!

Hahahaha - I would probably be the one to switch to a Value to save $600. I actually had a way to get us into SSR for only an extra $200+. It was a UK deal and my brother lives there and I figured he could help us make the payment, etc. I wavered for a long time and finally decided to save the $200. Also, we could have gotten a mod for an extra $200 but again I decided to save the money. Figure $200 is enough for a frugal overnight trip - and I love our weekend trips!

Wow this thread really is moving fast! I'm trying to keep up with everyone's ADRs so I apologize if I missed anyone's posts. Feel free to PM me, that might be easier.

Also, as I'm adding more times, I'm noticing a LOT of similar ADRs so be sure to check and see who you might be dining with!!

Joining even though I only have 11 days left :cool1::yay::woohoo: Looking forward to checking in online, I think my day is Sunday to do that. Havent started packing yet, just the toiletries and such.

The rest are up in the air.

ADRs....these still need some work as I need to add some breakfasts. Not too worried about it though because we always seem to be able to walk in to Captain's Grille, and CRT is so crazy expensive that it's a lot more available now. (Remember when it was easier to win Powerball than get a CRT ADR???)

8/25
Jiko 7:30pm

8/26
Captain's Grille 8:00am
California Grill 5:55pm

8/27
Tusker House 9:30am

8/29
Crystal Palace 9:30am

DS wants me to add CRT (he loves anywhere that he can actually talk to the characters and have them talk back, plus he's kind of a sucker for attention from lovely ladies ;) ) and after seeing a great family video on youtube, he wants to go to 50s PTC, although I don't think he'll eat anything there. :-\

I'm the same way! I actually will probably "sleep" on the couch the night before we leave so I don't wake DH up every time I jump up to check something in the middle of the night. :lmao:

Nikki, I noticed my Chef Mickey ADR on 9/1 is showing up at the end, but it's at 7:40 am (probably a typo by me when I first posted it). Would you mind changing it next time you edit the list?

I've moved away from obsessing about ADRs and touring plans and am now obsessing about packing. I really want to get our suitcases out and do a trial packing session, but I think DH and the kids will think I've officially lost it if I do that :rotfl:

I called DME yesterday to ask for 2 more luggage tags, in case we end up having to gate check our carry-ons. I've had to do that the last few times I've flown. I figure with 4 of us, we should be able to put at least one carry-on on the flight (the one with our swimsuits and stuff), but I'm packing the other carry-ons with a possible gate check in mind. I'm fine with Delta and DME taking care of the bags as long as I don't have to pay for it and as long as I can keep the swimsuits with me, since that'll probably be our first stop when we get to CSR!

Oh, and I had a friend make a pillowcase dress for DD that looks like Lilo's. She's mailing it to me today. :cool1: DD adores Lilo & Stitch and I'm so excited to see her in her Lilo dress. I'll post a pic when I get it

:offtopic: For all you other Pooh sized gals. I just got an email from Lane Bryant that they are having a 50% off sale today only. noon-midnight online and 5 to close in stores (code funfridaylb). Has to be the Lane Bryant brand though and not the other brands they sometimes have (like levi, 7s, nike, etc). They do have shorts and sundresses on clearance and then you get an additional 50 off so it makes it quite affordable ($15 for a pair of shorts for instance). I'm debating on ordering shorts to see how they fit, but I hate ordering clothes online. I usually don't shop there because they are too expensive, but I am on the mailing list for great sales like this. :goodvibes

Ahhh, I see. Then I would definitely stick with AKL over a moderate. Big decision!! Let us know what you decide!

Yeah, I've done that, too. It's kind of like the same reason I can't start buying Christmas gifts too early...it never stops! So I end up packing and puttering around until the last minute anyway.

I keep thinking that my saving grace this time is that DS and I are leaving home on the 23rd, taking the train to Manhattan at 4:15pm. I think I'll go down the weekend before by car (while DS is at his dad's) and take 1 suitcase that has the majority of our things. That way when we take the train on the 23rd, we only need to schlep DS's backpack, the small carry-on and my purse. This living apart thing definitely makes planning a little more complex!

Another kink in the plan that I just realized...I need to call now and book a bikini wax at my place in SoHo (Strip Ministry of Wax...fabulous). After going there, I refuse to get waxed at home...they're that good!

Ok I am going to join in on this fun...

We are Me, DH, DD (24) and her BF, DD (21) and DS (17)

Aug 9 MK all day with ADR @ CP for breakfast and LTT for dinner

btdt LOL!! I did that for pur park bags to figure out how many bags to bring and to ensure they were reasonably light to carry.

I have started ordering them in a couple of different sizes and just returning the ones that don't fit to the physical store. Really made online shopping for clothes more comfortable for me and I'm now likely to do it much more often. I have also now discovered Amazon offers free return shipping on shoes - so orderd 4-5 pairs and am returning those I don't want! (I just want one at the end - but need to try for size, fit, and comfort). Right now I am waiting for 1 more pair to arrive but have already vetoed all but 1, which is my favorite for now.

Welcome!! Saw you live in Cincy - spent Labor Day weekend there last year to go to Kings Island - it was great (and I had a ton of fun shopping at the Cincy Outlet Mall nearby).

Now that I am finally done resort switching it is probably safe to add me to the resort list :rotfl2:

We're
8/26 - 9/2 Fort Wilderness Cabins

34 days to go!! We're at Royal Pacific at Universal for 3 nights before Disney. I am really looking forward to that too. It's a totally different experience but Universal is a blast and we've grown to enjoy it as much as Disney:)

LOL! Yes, my DD and DS both work at Kings Island! I also enjoy the outlet mall, but I am sooooo ready to get out of here and live in the Disney bubble for a few days! Thanks for you kudos to Cincy...Lived here all my life and I sorta love it!
