****OFFICIAL August, 2012 (PART 2)****

Anyone think that Disney will ever carry my beloved Dr. Pepper? Holy Moly, I could go for one of those when I am in Florida... No coffee, just my DP...That's what I jones for....:lmao:

Sneakers and DP, I am in heaven :rotfl2:

See that's where I'm in trouble! The only caffeine I drink is coffee in the AM and Dr. Pepper in the afternoon/evening... I think I'm doomed! :confused3

I'll have to let my husband know! Are you going to the park that morning while they're in class or are you planning to hang at your hotel til they're done? I'm pretty sure we'll be hitting the park.

Oh, I don't know!! I can't decide... I REALLY would love to just hang out in Epcot and not have a schedule... but laying around sounds mighty tempting too!! I don't think we'll know for sure until the day off!

I'm a DP fan too! McDonalds now has DP, maybe you can sneak over to there to get one if you have the transportation. I always make a pit stop either there or Hess for a fountain drink ;)

I just paid off the balance on my room so now everything is paid off and so far have a $500 gift card towards food and snacks! :dance3:

That's awesome! Congrats! We are doing DDP but I want to get some gift cards to cover the gratuity. I'm also thinking of getting my girls each their own gc for the souvenirs. We still have to buy our airfair  so hopefully we will be doing that this weekend. 29 days and counting!

So how much spending money is everyone planning to bring? Right now I'm budgeting $200per day. I really hope we don't spend that much, but that's what we're bringing. Or, more accurately, planning to have available on the debit card. I don't think we'll bring much cash, other than some small bills for tips.

At first I thought "wow, that's way too much". But even with free dining, I figure we'll probably spend at least $20-30 on tips for TS and I know my kids will want more ice cream than our 1 snack per day on the DDP. And then there's things like renting a pontoon from the marina, BBB, etc. And souvies, of course.

Just wondering if $200 is a fair ballpark or if I'm way over- or under-budgeting

We are going to 7 days and I'm bringing about $1400. We are on the meal plan, so this is pretty much for drinks while at the parks, souvenirs, tips etc. Hoping to not spend it all but am okay if we do.

I believe we are taking about $300 a day for tips, souveniers, snacks (we like to do some major snacking in the world :goodvibes), etc. And whatever we don't use we will just bring back home.

I think that is a good amount. I know what you mean, it sounds like alot, but money sure goes quick in Disney! Last time we did the dining plan we really hadn't factored in the tips to our budget. With the dining plan we splurged and went to a couple nice places and I was shocked at the tip amounts. I'm not used to fancy dining at home :rotfl:

This year we are definitely factoring that in!

I have no clue as to how much money we are taking yet. So far, I have money for mousekeeping, just need to make the envelopes. We normally don't have a set amount. We just sort of buy what we need/want as we go along. Oh, I also, we will bring enough cash for tips and small things.

Otherwise we use our credit card and pay the whole bill off.

As to using a debit card, does yours have a limit on how much you can use per day?

Okay rookie mistake I don't really have anything budgeted per day for spending just my trusty Disney Visa. We also have a dining plan. I know I have to pay for tips. It's just DH and I, we have 1 TS per day and then I'd say we'd have at least one additional snack or treat than whats on our plan per day. We aren't doing any extras but plan on getting a souvenier or two (i want to get some early christmas shopping done). So not counting Christmas shopping...how much do you think I should plan on spending per day? We will be at the parks 5 days.

Thanks!!! :flower3:

As for the spending money question..

We are doing about $1400 for our whole trip. We are on the Deluxe Dining Plan so we will have approx. $550 in tipping for our meals alone. We don't do any rentals so ours will be all for any souvin"ears" we want to buy. We get 2 snacks/person/day so we won't really need to spend any on things like that either. The only thing I MUST get is a funnel cake that is not on snack credit (as far as I know). We will be using it for our limo balance, tipping at airport and resort and such, and ???

As to using a debit card, does yours have a limit on how much you can use per day?

Our debit card has a limit and the bank will freeze it for unusual activity. Found that out the hard way when I tried to pay the balance off for our WDW trip while I was in Las Vegas for work. The balance of the trip was over our daily limit, then they saw activity on our account in Vegas, so the bank ended up freezing my card :headache: So I learned my lesson and now when I go out of town or we have a large purchase to make, I call the bank a few days ahead of time and they temporarily raise our daily limit. Our limit is $1500 (which is also pretty much our budget for spending money), but I will probably have the limit raised a bit, just in case. We'll have money in there to cover more, but really want to try to stick to that budget. I'm glad I'm in the ballpark at least, with $200/day.

I FINALLY just paid off the whole trip. I don't do credit cards right now, so have to wait sometimes for the money to come in. I had a small amount left to pay at 45 days, but was assured by a very nice CM that if I could pay before 30 days I would be alright, especially since I had most of it paid off. I feel SO relieved to have the whole thing taken care of now! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I'm still a little stumped when it comes to how much extra to bring.
I have to upgrade one of our 2 day base tickets for dd's friend, pay tips, pay for rental car, a tank of gas, the balance on on our Universal stay (they don't let you pay it until you check out), food and tips at Universal, golf cart rental at Fort Wilderness, and some souvenir money. When I look at that we're a long way off from the trip being paid off.:crazy2:

I'd say probably another 1800-2000 for the 11 days.
I plan to put spending money for the kids on Disney gift cards when we get there, and use my KTTW for the rest. We usually just put a credit card on the account. I discovered when paying off the Disney portion that my new credit card has a stupid conversion fee. I put 1500 on one card and it just cost me exchange. Put 1500 on the other card to get the points and it cost me 60 dollars extra for the fee. Won't be using that one!

Click on one of them and it takes you to a site with all of the instructions. Then once you've created it copy the "pseudo html" code and then paste it into your signature. You can access your signature by clicking on "user CP" on the blue bar up top, select edit signature, and paste it in the text box.:)

Thanks Pigletto! Lets see if I actually got it to work now.

You are close.. don't give up. I think you've just copied the wrong one. The text you copy should start with .

I don't like having to call the bank for these sort of things (I am very lazy that way) so that is why we use our Disney Visa and pay the bill of when it comes in. We do watch what we spend but just don't have a true limit. Dh understands that shopping is a must.

:guilty: I love both......does that mean you hate me?:sad::sad:

No, I could never hate you! I am a former cheerleader (and we cheerleaders stick together).:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Go Team August!:woohoo:

Seriously though, the smell of coffee beans makes me sick to my stomach and I'm allergic to caffiene, so that's why I stay away from coffee and as far as flip flops go I have issues with shoes that divide my toes.:confused3:rolleyes1

emteach, you have copied the HTML signature. Just go to the box below and copy the "pseudo HTML" signature and paste it into your edit signature and you should be set:)
