The past 2 months ODS had it, then me (developed pneumonia, still fighting it), then YDD......and NOW this morning, DH is coming down with something. :faint: I guess it's good he's getting it now and not in 33 days!

You know, no one in my family has been sick AT ALL this winter, even though every single person around us has had everything from the flu to stomach bugs to strep throat and colds. This of course, means that we are surely due to come down with everything at once, right about the time we leave for WDW :worried:

I hope you all are getting it out of your system though :goodvibes

Yes get it now and over with before your trip!!!

Two groups of friends have gone to WDW this year and both groups have had at least one person get sick while they were there. We were there in June 2011 and out of the 5 of us, 3 ended up at Urgent Care and the youngest had a runny nose and cough all week. We almost had to take my mom to the ER she got so sick. I'm still not convinced she didn't have food poisoning. :crazy2:

Fingers crossed for sick-free trips.

That is awful!!! :(

Hope you are all healthy this time.

I hope no one laughs at me...but I packed my two daughters' suitcases today. Granted, I have a list of things still needing to be put in the day before and I didnt pack for DH and I yet. I did bring our suitcase out of the attic to air out though. The girls and I are going away overnight next weekend for dance, then Easter is two weeks later and I can't do a thing during the week as I am out of the house from 7:30-7:30 M-F. (Yes, trying to justify this all)

Am I way to early? A little too over prepared?

That's what's great about going in April. You don't need the same clothes so you can pack way earlier than needed.

You're just prepared. I should go up right now and check if the boys need new things. I know DS15 needs new flip flops.

I started packing too LOL. I believe you can never be too prepared :)

Sadly, we have to postpone our family celebration. We will hopefully be able to reschedule, but due to an unfortunate event, we are not leaving on Easter Sunday for our trip together. I will be cancelling Easter week ADRs soon, so if anyone needs them, keep an eye out tomorrow on the April ADR thread. Enjoy everyone. As I say to DH every day, "Good luck. Have fun. Be careful."

I'm so sorry you have to postpone. Sending Pixie Dust that everything gets better soon.pixiedust:

Sounds perfectly logical and actually rather brilliant to me. I just did a closet purge and reorganize on my closet this evening and was very tempted to start putting things in a suitcase. But, alas, Texas warms up fairly early too so I will need the clothes. And I have no room in my bedroom for a suitcase.

On the plus side I found several things I had forgotten I had so I won't have to spend much more on new clothes. Maybe a couple pairs of knee length shorts. I can't believe we are in the 20's! I couldn't wait to get closer to the trip and now I feel like there isn't enough time:confused3

Just joining the party...:cheer2:

But, I am so excited to head back to WDW next month.

DD and I are going to have a few days to ourselves as DH will be coming down for only a few days at the end of the week. I am looking forward to some girl time.

I like the idea of starting to pack now...

Not too early to pack! You're not alone either. My suitcase is open on the ironing board in my laundry room. Just washed and added bathing suits and all of DS's shorts and summer shirts are scheduled for the next load. I'll be washing and packing one person a week for the next 5.5 weeks. We have a busy life too so starting way ahead allows me to really think through the wardrobe choices. Also, if I find I'm missing something I have time to shop around and try to find it on sale rather than be in a rush and end up paying full price.

Newbie jumping in :)

The DH, DS, and I are headed to Disney April 25-May1. My son turns 6 on April 3...he doesn't know about the trip yet and we're telling him on his bday! I'm wrapping up separate packages with clues...a WDW tshirt, and autograph book, etc. He'll flip:)
We're staying at AoA in a Cars suite...*THAT* little fact is staying secret until we get there. He'll flip again..he's a Lightning lover!

Our last trip was when our son was 2 1/2 so it will be verrrry different! We did the DCL to Alaska when he was 4 and he still talks about it a lot.

Very ready for April 3 to get here so I can talk to him about it!

Good catch! Thanks for the info. I went and checked the sites I most rely on for information and see that apparently at some point in time the dates were changed and I didn't catch it. Yes indeed, BB will be open in April for all you nice people that aren't tired of seeing snow. I removed it from the first page.
Oh good!!! It was actually sort of an accident that I saw it. I had seen your note on it last week and I was really bummed about it. The other day I was printing up some stuff from Touringplans.com and in the rehab schedule Blizzard Beach wasn't listed, so I did some detective work. I was REALLY hoping you hadn't found some obscure information I wasn't seeing! I am very happy. Thank you for confirming!

Boy, I never thought about it that way before! I am so sick of the snow here in Ohio! This weekend was just gorgeous!!! I got to do some walking and today I walked like an old lady afterwards! I guess I have some work to do!!!

No need to justify anything! I usually have to pack for 7 plus plan the trip for 12 and do tons of projects, so I start roughly two months out. We usually only take carry-ons, so I have to be very organized. I really have no excuse this trip though as it is just the two of us. I have been packing for about a month.

I haven't really done a lot of organizing, just dumping things in that we need and finding things we usually take. We are taking one carry-on for snacks since we aren't doing the dining plan for the first time, so that is all ready to go. Then we have one more carry-on, my auto-pap machine (which can't be packed until last minute, but I did mark the bag with my info), and one hard case suitcase we will check. I got that suitcase for so cheap so I am excited! It usually runs around $180, and I paid $29.99!!!

The only thing I really have to get together is the clothing. Almost everything is in the bags. This weekend I did some thrift shopping and got some really beautiful tops for our trip. I love resale shopping!!! I would rather do that all day than shop at regular stores all the time. It's the thrill of the hunt. Anyway, I got 10 shirts today for $22.00!!!! Some still had tags on!! It's the way to go considering all the weight I am losing. That is why I haven't packed all my stuff. I don't know what size I will be, and I have lots of cute clothes from when I worked in insurance in the next size I will be. It would be nice if I can fit in some of it on this trip!

Anyway, the packing timeframe worked for this trip as well bc I homeschool 5 kids. I never know how busy any given day will be. Between that, karate classes, church, driving the kids around, grocery shopping, etc...I am busy. This week my son has the Ohio graduation test every day of the week, so that will be a busy time. Then we have Easter. I also have to get my house ready for my brother to stay over while we are gone, and I have to pack the kids to stay with my parents for 9 days. Oy.

I am getting nervous bc I have never spent this much time without my kids. I am sort of freaking out. Plus, what if my hubby gets really annoying? Oh boy.

Are you kidding?? I started last week! :rotfl2:

And, I might add, I'm glad I did....because my packing plans are changing...the way I've packed for the past 3 trips is not going to work now, because my girls clothes are getting too big so we aren't going to use their little suitcases anymore...:worried:

So, now I am reconfiguring a new optimal packing situation....::yes::

Well if you ask me, I'll say no. I think it was a week or so ago that I posted that I had out suitcases all packed and sitting in the master bedroom. Dead serious. I think we need only to grab toothbrushes and be gone. Lol

Not crazy at all......that's my answer

Of course we ended up having to buy almost all new clothing for my two boys and one daughter which has been pretty costly over the last couple of weeks, but the way I justify doing that is by telling myself (and DH) that we arent going to have to buy spring / summer clothes in May like we usually do.

JCP is having a huge sale on flip flops and sandals for anyone who may need them.

We're at 40 days today! The trip is getting closer and closer every day...sometimes it seems like it'll never come!

I feel very reassured to know that I'm not the only one who wants to get packing! I have a huge pile of bits and pieces on the bedroom floor all ready to pack, but haven't actually put anything in the suitcases yet. I will start doing that later in the week. We only have 16 days to go before we leave home :) :)

i'll get our suitcases out of the attic tomorrow once we tell the kids, so they can air out.

I can't remember if we have 2 suitcases or 3.......I hope it's 3, I can't imagine fitting all our stuff in 2. I'm such an overpacker, not to mention all DD's custom outfits......:confused3
