Wait, what? Why are you mentioning BTMRR? They just had a huge refurbishment last year. I am pretty sure the Disneyland BTMRR is closed for refurb though...

Good morning :surfweb:......

January is almost over!! :cool1:

I have been super busy at work and it's interfering with my DVP (Disney Vacation Planning). Annoying!! :rolleyes2 And then at home I'm busy planning other peoples' trips and trying to remember to throw my kids some crumbs every few hours to keep them alive. :rotfl:

I need some down time, I want to work on my touring plans!

Time to start talking Lime Green Mickey Heads -- LGMH, the unofficial secret DISser identifier. :rotfl:

So, how many of you are doing this: :confused3 ?

If you don't know what a LGMH is, check the DIS. The most recent thread I found is this one: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2984199 .

I always put one in our car window, one in our room window, and attach one to whatever bag I am carrying / wearing that day.

If I see you with one, I WILL say Hi. :goodvibes If you see me, you better say Hi!

I was always wondering if there was a way to identify ourselves and other DISers. This is great. I know a lot of us are at POR on the same dates, so I think putting them in the room windows will be interesting.

I just spent my last two summers in South Korea during monsoon season, so hopefully the over abundance of rain in my recent past will keep it away during our trip time.

Either way...I don't much mind rain. The only issue is DS. I'd happily be drenched at Disney, but I don't want to be dealing with a cranky 2 year old. Remind me to pack the rain cover for the stroller, just in case.

Is anyone else excited about the Flower & Garden festival?
I thought it was just the gorgeous topiaries. I didn't realize they have themed play areas for kids. I guess they're adding food kiosks this year, as well.

Whoa, and presentations by HGTV stars? I love HGTV!
Where in South Korea.......and more importantly did they have the best kimchee there or what????

I’m obsessed and my family is barely tolerating me! :lol

Dh and I went to WDW for our honeymoon in 1998. I’ve wanted to go back, but we haven’t had the money. Now we are finally getting to go. The kids are 11, 9, and almost 5.

My kids don’t really understand what is so great about WDW. I try to explain it, but they just don’t get it. My 10 year old daughter is REALLY apprehensive about the whole thing. The idea of flying on a plane to get there makes her tear up because she is really scared of it. We were talking about the trip together on Saturday and she was really trying to understand why I’m so obsessed. She doesn’t like rides at all and I was trying to explain to her that the rides at Disney aren’t like the rides at Six Flags or at the Fair. They are THEMED and it’s more like a show. I know that I’ll never get her on any of the roller coasters. She definitely won’t do Haunted Mansion even though I LOVE it. She wasn’t even sure about soaring when I was explaining it to her. :( I know she’ll love Peter Pan, POTC, Jungle Cruise, all the shows, etc.

The best I could explain to her was that is was like being IN a movie or a cartoon and it’s just FUN.

I think we’ll just have to get there and see what she thinks.

My DH is calling me obsessed. I didn't get this crazy planning last year. But having been there, I know to what extent I need to plan and what can be go with the flow.

I need to make two more ADRs and I don't know what to do. We want it to be at Epcot, since we want to spend two days there and we only have one planned so far. (We don't have hoppers.) We already have Akershus dinner reservations. It doesn't need to be character, but it has to be good for kids.

My older DD is making demands on me now, telling me this morning that we HAVE to meet Merida because she's a princess and we haven't met her yet. (We've met all the rest except for Pocahontas.)

Biergarten! That's what we're doing, Akershus & Biergarten. It sounds fun for the kids.

Just thought you all would like to know that Wheel of Fortune is giving away 2 Disney trips a day this week. Watch the show, get the bonus round phrase, then enter at the Wheel of Fortune website.

Very excited! Been twice during this time and EPCOT is so beautiful. The food booths are going to be fun.

Anyone else notice that Mad Tea Party will be closed for rehab starting on 4/10? Kind of a bummer, but at least it isn't one of the main attractions. My fingers are crossed that there won't be many more closed in April! http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/rehab.htm

I just saw this! My kids love it so we will ride early on our trip as long as they don't close it earlier than the 10th.

I feel a little silly, but if anyone understand, you folks will. ::yes::

Anyone else get teared up with Disney planning stuff sometimes? It's meant a lot to us over the years (see PTR) and it's been a long time since our last trip. In fact, I'd almost given up hope we'd ever get back.

I was curled up on the couch this morning with my younger son (who has never been to WDW). We were the only two in the house awake and he asked to watch the Disney planning DVD. A few minutes in, he squirmed around and looked up at me and asked suspiciously, "Are you crying again, Mommy?"

Well, yes, a little. :rotfl: The video clips of kids running around the parks at the beginning get me. I can't wait until it's my two.

Then I was doing some work on the computer in our home office and put the "Illuminations" soundtrack on as background music. Big mistake.

The "We Go On" music makes me think of a lot of things ... visiting the park with my parents during the surprise trip my dad planned for my mom after her mom (my grandma) died when I was 16 ... watching it with my husband on our honeymoon ... watching it with our parents the last night of the trip when my MIL had a heart attack (this was literally the only thing we were all able to do together that whole trip) ... watching it with our 15-month-old son after the baby survived open-heart surgery at 5 months old ...

Sniff. :lmao: I'm going to be a mess in April. But a happy mess. :cool1:
I've already told my family that each of them will be carrying a box of tissues, and hopefully there will be enough to get me through the first day!:rotfl:I cry so much over anything Disney. It's really getting quite pathetic.

I am out of control with the custom outfits for DD. At first I figured 1 or 2. Now I'm going for 1 for each day. And I can't be simple and just pick a design that someone's already done, I have to like 1 aspect of 1 design and another aspect of another design, and then mix them all together and come up with my own thing. God only knows what they'll look like in the end, lol. :scared1:

I hadn't even really considered outfits for DS. Although I bought him a Mickey outfit over a year ago, because it was inexpensive at the consignment store, and I was hopeful that we'd end up at Disney so he could wear it.
Otherwise, the options for boys just aren't as much fun. If I'm creative I'm sure I can think of something though.
Maybe I'll just have to consign myself to making matching T-shirts for my sister and I for every day. I'm pretty sure she'd be game.

Man....and I was actually thinking about riding it this time. I don't think I've been on it since I was 5 years old. I always skip it, but I thought it'd be fun this time.

FWIW, I think the Seas Aqua tour would be amazing! For me, vacation is the time to do things you can't really do at home. I can eat at a fancy restaurant anytime (well, as the paycheck to bills ratio allows), but the Seas Aqua tour is strictly Orlando. Whatever you decide, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Yeah...I'm really starting to lean towards that. DH isn't excited that we'll only get 30 minutes of time in the water, but to me that's better than nothing, and apparently it doesn't take park admission, so we could do it on our break day.

My kids and DH repeatedly make fun of me because everything Disney makes me cry...sad, but true.

My smart Alec DH imported all of our plans for April into our awesome spreadsheet, and felt the need to put next to each fireworks show "Watch Mommy Cry" :rotfl2:

I cry on Magical Express. It is really a problem. :rotfl:

Uh....yeah....
Heck, I just almost started crying today, because it was nice enough to go outside and play as a family (we got a fluke 70 degree day in Kansas). All I can say is that we've had a rough couple of years...
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be a mess at Disney this year.

Where in South Korea.......and more importantly did they have the best kimchee there or what????

We got sent to Dongducheon (north of Seoul near Soyosan Mountain) with the military. DH liked kimchi, but I couldn't even stand the smell.

The planning DVD always has me tearing up as well. I don't cry a whole lot at Disney World, but I have never got through an entire trip without crying.

January has flown by and I am glad that February is a short month. Time always flies by the closer I get to a trip. I am usually wanting to hoard money and I always feel like I am running out of time.
