My thought exactly. The promo must be working for them.

Touring Plans updated their predicted crowd levels this week. For my dates, 4.12-4.19, they predicted crowd levels have actually dropped, not gone up. They're just predictions but I'm encouraged.

Extended park hours means they expect it to be more crowded than they originally anticipated, so I'm not happy about that at all. I'm betting we will soon see updated (higher) crowd #s once they figure in these extended hours. :(

That's what I'm worried about too, why would they extend hours if they weren't expecting more people? We probably won't take advantage of later hours, so it doesn't help us anyway. Maybe it will spread out the crowds more though, I guess.

DH is happy. He keeps being worried it won't be crowded enough. :confused3 He thinks it's more exciting when lots of people are there. He is truly strange.

FWIW, I have never had a trip where the hours were not extended at this point out from the trip. I think it's just normal for Disney to be very conservative when first putting out the hours, and then update them later. It's better than having people plan on longer hours and finding them cut back later on....I don't think it neccessarily correlates with crowds...but I also don't pay attention to crowd calendars.

I actually understand this. I also like there to be a crowd, but not overflowing to the point of being ridiculous. I think it makes the ride experience more fun. Kinda like being in a movie theater during a funny part of the movie, all are laughing and having a good time. (Note...I'm not one that likes to be alone much)

ok, there's a first time for everything. I've never heard anyone wish it was MORE crowded, lol. Hilarious! :lmao:

Lol, hang out around my DH for very long and you'll hear LOTS of things for the first time :rotfl2: He really wanted to go to WDW during 4th of July week. Of course I told him no, b/c it would be too hot and crowded, and he said that's WHY he wanted to go then. (I would have preferred February, so April was a compromise.)

DISNEY MADE A LOT OF CHANGES TO THE APRIL CALENDAR!
Walt Disney World APRIL Operating Calendar (updated by Disney 1/11/2013)

What I have noted so far is that park hours are extended for my weeks (the third and fourth weeks of the month) at MK (with a second parade taking place AFTER Wishes), DHS, and AK.

I'm excited to see AK open until 8:00 p.m. (originally the closing time was 6:00 p.m.) most of my dates. I might just have to do some schedule rearranging now so that we hit AK in the evening.

Something I am not excited about (this is not related to the calendar, btw) is the new all-day menu at Le Cellier. I book both lunch and dinner at Le Cellier because we enjoy the nice dinner (this will be on our anniversary) but we also enjoyed the lighter lunch selections. Well, now those are gone. So either we will just do appetizers for lunch there or I will cancel our lunch reservation. Maybe it is time we try out Teppan Edo.

SWEET, it has 8 am opening all week (the week we're there) for the Magic Kingdom! Hopefully that means 7 am EMH. Can't wait for that again, especially since we'll be at Bay Lake Tower!

ETA: OK, just looked at the Disney World site and it does say the EMH at the Magic Kingdom will be 7 am-8 am. I'm happy.:banana:

I understand this too. A couple years ago when I was there with my sister, we were at the Animal Kingdom. Since it closes earlier than the other parks, we went in the afternoon. We got dinner at Pizzafari and it was so dead! It was actually kind of weird.

After having been PIF for a few weeks, I had to go and upgrade our ressie to CL on Monday...I was going to hold off on paying the balance but again, I can't control myself and hate having the balance so went ahead and paid it today. :cool1:

YC CL - here we come!!!! :dance3::yay::dance3:

Now, can it just be April already?????

I haven't checked in in a long time, but I've been reading all of the posts! Our plans for our trip have changed a little.... We're still going April 20-26, but we're now staying in a Royal Guest Room at POR. Our ADRs changed a bit, too. Now we're:

4/20: T-Rex Cafe in DTD (6:30)
4/21: Chef Mickeys (5:05)
4/22: Ohana (7:30)
4/23: 1900 Park Fare for Supercalifragilistic Breakfast (11:00) and Biergarten (5:30)
4/25: CRT (5:15)

I just bought a folding stroller for my very small 3-year old, I've firmed up some touring plans (though I'm sure they will change a million times before we leave) and I'm starting to write the book I will use to reveal our trip to my two kiddos. It's getting so exciting!!!!

I really wish DH didn't have soccer games with the teams he coaches on 4/6. I would love to stay just one more day at CSR at the end of our trip! Darn soccer season!!
