My dad who died in Oct would have been 78 today......My grandfather, my dad and my best friend rolled into one person....He adopted me when I was about 4, he was really my grandfather but raised me as dad....I miss him too

Happy birthday Dan's Dad! He sounds like an awesome guy, too!! :bday:

I'm seeing David A vs David C also

OR

I see a David A vs Brooke (appealing to the masses a la Katherine McFee, but better)
I like Brooke but I think both David's are better.
Sounds good but I think the Jerks that Be want it to be Carly and David A.... ugh... I'll be gone LONG before that!! :surfweb: "call me when it's OVER"...

I don't like Carly.....I was glad she was in the bottom 3.

9th Grade? I graduated COLLEGE a year before Michael Johns was born!!:scared1:

Where's that pic of that guy from Dateline?????

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one thinking :scared1: :scared1: after seeing the list of birth years!!

No one was born in 1981 so there won't be any "Don't Stop Believing" or "Open Arms" by Journey. But 1983 had "Separate Ways"...haha.

Dangit. "Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield was also 1981.

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler was in 1983. But I don't know how you'd chop that into a minute and a half. I'd love to see someone try though! Maybe Carly.

Pretty much all the 80's songs I love would never be on this show. Although I was happy to hear "Love is a Battlefield" during 80's week. That's one of my favorites.

Didn't Nikki do Total Eclipse in season 1? I remember her completely butchering it :lmao:

I didn't watch season 1. Haha...I'll have to see if I can find that.

I have decided that I want to hear David Cook sing "Come on Eileen."

Wow, that's funny. My Mom used to Love James Garner because she said he reminded her of Daddy... I had no idea, but that IS cool!!

Uh, he was NOTHING like Miss "Good Morning Heartache"... I played her in a play back in college, what a horrendous life! :scared:

I've always loved James Garner. He has a very cool demeanor. To be honest, I know very little about Billie Holiday so I can't comment there. There are several more celebrities on the list but those were the three I instantly knew the names.

April 7th is my DADDY'S birthday!!! He was the most aMAzing man.... I miss him!!!

You must be an awesome person to share a birthday with him! He would've been 89 years old that Monday. :thumbsup2

Not to turn this into a downer thread, but April 7th will be the third anniversary of my mom's death. She would turn 57 on April 21st. She was a young hip mama who raised me on whatever music was alternative at the time.

I'm so sorry, MQ, I know how those anniversaries can be. I just survived my Dad's on my birthday, which btw, truly bites. She was really young.. I mean REALLY young...heck she was about my age.

I'll adopt you if you want? Ask my kid, I'm a young hip mama, too!:hippie:

I can tell from your posts since we're drooling over the same guys. Though if either of us liked David A. I would expect a Dateline visit. :lmao:

I always think of that as more of a 1983 song. But I guess it did technically come out in late 1982 (in the U.S.)

I wonder how they determine which year is ok for those winter songs. Is it by release date or when the song "peaks"?

Just to add to my old '82 list on the last thread I think Abracadabra would be fun to hear DC sing. There are a couple songs by Hall & Oats from that year that I'd like to hear. And Toto. But please not Eye of the Tiger. Please.

Okay, so I found nikki doing total eclipse of the heart in season one. She really screamed a lot more than was probably necessary. She made it into a very angry song.

Season 1's set looks a little....sad.

Sad? It looks like the audition place!

:scared1: Yikes she destroyed one of my favorite songs!

Back in the 80s my ex trainer once locked me in a gym and made me listen to it because he said I was ruining his life. Man, that song brings back memories... :scared:

Man, I need to write a book....

Um...Robin. Michael is all yours but HANDS OFF DC!! M'kay?

If not for the dozen(or so) of us on here who :lovestruc  DC, I would be calling him MY boyfriend. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
